The Carpenter Building, historically the Carpenter Hotel or Hotel Carpenter and known colloquially as The Carpenter, is a historic building at 221 South Phillips Avenue in downtown Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Originally serving as a hotel from 1912 to 1966, it is now used for retail and apartment space. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

The State Theatre is a historic one-screen movie theater in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Opened in 1926, it operated continuously until 1990 when it was closed amidst the popularity of multiplexes. In 2005, a city-supported group was formed to finance the renovation and re-opening of the venue. In December 2020, the State Theatre resumed screening movies. The historic building was designed by Buechner & Orth, an architecture firm from Saint Paul, Minnesota.

The Washington Pavilion of Arts and Science opened in 1999 and houses an art gallery, concert hall, large-format theater, and science museum in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, United States. Its building, the former Washington High School, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Security Bank Building, also known as the Security Building, is a historic commercial building at 101 South Main Avenue in downtown Sioux Falls, South Dakota. It was the first steel-framed office building to be built in the state. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984 for its architectural design and integrity, as well as for being the site of a bank robbery by the Dillinger Gang in 1934.

The Hotel on Phillips is a hotel at 100 N. Phillips Ave. in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. It is located in the former Sioux Falls National Bank building, a skyscraper built in 1917, during World War I. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979 as "Sioux Falls National Bank Building". The property has also been known as the 100 North Phillips Building.It was the tallest building in the state of South Dakota when it was built, and remained the tallest when it was listed on the National Register. (In 2019, the tallest is the CenturyLink Tower, also in Sioux Falls, built in 1986.) It has been termed Sullivanesque. It was designed by architects Weary & Alford of Chicago. It was built by builders Pike & Cook of Minneapolis.The hotel has been included by the National Trust for Historic Preservation in its Historic Hotels of America program since 2019.According to the Historic Hotels of America program, "The lead architect for the project was Oscar Wentworth [sic, apparently meaning Oscar Wenderoth], a former director of the Office of the Supervising Architect of the United States Government. With help from the contracting company Pike & Cook, Wentworth spent the next year developing the nine-story skyscraper with designs inspired by the architectural aesthetics of the visionary John Sullivan. The building today stands as the only remaining example of this unique brand of architecture—known as Sulluvanesque—in all of Sioux Falls."

The Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse, also known as U.S. Courthouse, Sioux Falls, is a historic federal office and courthouse building located at Sioux Falls in Minnehaha County, South Dakota. The building is still in use as a federal courthouse, being the seat of the United States District Court for the District of South Dakota. The structure is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Grand Lodge and Library of the Ancient Free and Accepted Masons in Sioux Falls, South Dakota is a building from 1924. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. The architects were Hugill & Blatherwick of Sioux Falls.The National Register nomination describes its importance as "the purest example of Neo-classic style in Sioux Falls. The combination of classic elements and internal structural innovations of the early twentieth century, such as steel doors and trim painted to resemble wood and a nine-ton glass floor, enhance the architectural importance of the structure. The use of steel and glass were unique at that time in the city."The building has one of the largest Masonic libraries in the United States. The library has more than 22,000 volumes. The building also has a museum on its second floor.

First Congregational Church is a historic church in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. It was built in 1907 and was added to the National Register in 1983.It is a 2+1⁄2-story church with unequal towers at its front corners and a "tower-like structure" on its north facade which holds the rear entrance.A two-story educational wing was added 1955. This structure, designed by Lucas, Craig & Whitwam, originally had a curtain wall of glass and dark panels with aluminum framing on the west facade (i.e. front facade). At some point after the 1983 nomination to the register, this facade was replaced with an attempt to copy the Richardsonian Romanesque exterior of the 1907 church.

The Rock Island Depot is a historic railroad station located at 201 East 10th Street in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The station opened in 1886 to serve the Burlington, Cedar Rapids and Northern Railway, a predecessor of the Rock Island. The ashlar and wood building has a Richardsonian Romanesque design with a side-facing stone gable and an octagonal turret. The interior of the station includes a waiting room, a ticket office, and the station agent's quarters. As the railroad network spread through South Dakota, Sioux Falls became the state's primary commercial and transportation hub due to its established station. The station served passenger trains through Sioux Falls until 1970.The station was added to the National Register of Historic Places on February 15, 1974.

L.D. Miller Funeral Home, commonly known as the Miller Funeral Home, is a historic building at 507 South Main Avenue in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
