Beech Mountain Lakes is a census-designated place (CDP) in Butler Township, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 2,022 at the 2010 census.

Oley Creek is a tributary of Nescopeck Creek in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, in the United States. It is approximately 5.2 miles (8.4 km) long. It flows through Foster Township, Dennison Township, and Butler Township. Long Hollow is a tributary of the creek. The creek's watershed has an area of 7.2 square miles (19 km2). It is a high-quality coldwater fishery in its upper reaches and a Class A Wild Trout Fishery for part of its distance. The creek is in the upper reaches of the Nescopeck Creek watershed. It is named after a community in Berks County, Pennsylvania known as Oley.

Little Nescopeck Creek is a tributary of Nescopeck Creek in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, in the United States. It is approximately 8.2 miles (13.2 km) long and flows through Bear Creek Township, Fairview Township, and Dennsion Township. The watershed of the creek has an area of 10.7 square miles (28 km2). The creek has one named tributary, which is known as Conety Run. Little Nescopeck Creek is designated as a Coldwater Fishery and Class A Wild Trout Waters. It is one of the main sources of flooding in Dennison Township. The surficial geology in the vicinity of the creek mainly features alluvium, Wisconsinan Till, Wisconsinan Ice-Contact Stratified Drift, bedrock, and fill. Little Nescopeck Creek shares its name with another river in southern Luzerne county.

Freeland is a borough in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, United States. It was originally called Birbeckville, South Heberton, and Freehold. Freeland is 18 miles (29 km) south of Wilkes-Barre and 10 miles (16 km) northeast of Hazleton. It was incorporated as a borough on September 11, 1876. Coal mining was the chief industry in the community through the mid-20th century. As of the 2020 census, the population was 3,833.

Crestwood High School is a ninth through twelfth grade, suburban, public high school located on Route 309 in Mountain Top, Pennsylvania, United States. It is the only high school in the Crestwood School District, which encompasses an area of 110 square miles (280 km2) with a combined population of 19,383. According to the National Center for Education Statistics, in 2016–2017, Crestwood High School reported an enrollment of 883 pupils in grades 9th through 12th.Students at Crestwood High School may choose from numerous academic, athletic, and co-curricular programs, but mainly focusing on humanities, mathematics and science, business, fine arts, and vocational-technical programs. This allows students not only to be prepared for 2 year or 4 year colleges, but also the workforce or military service. Added on to the High School's building, in 2000, was the seventh through eighth grade Middle School. In December 2006, an F2 tornado tore through the back area of the high school. There was no serious or irreparable damage done to the section. The roof of the high school gym collapsed while the girls' basketball team was inside, but no one was hurt.

MMI Preparatory School (simply referred to as MMI) is an independent, non-sectarian, co-educational 6-12 college preparatory day school in Freeland, Pennsylvania, United States. MMI is short for Mining and Mechanical Institute and was founded in 1879 as the Industrial School for Miners and Mechanics by Eckley Brinton Coxe to provide technical training for area miners. The program was modeled after the "Steigerschulen" of Germany. Mr. Coxe examined The "Steigerschulen", which were secondary technical institutes, while studying mining engineering in that country. The first class consisted of 11 students. The present day name of MMI Preparatory School came to be in the 1970s as young women were accepted into the school and to more accurately reflect the school's function of preparing students for the rigors of college academics.

Angela Park was an amusement park located along PA Route 309 in Butler Township, seven miles north of Hazleton, Pennsylvania. The park operated from 1957 through 1988, and its proximity to the Pocono Mountains made it a popular summer attraction in Northeastern Pennsylvania for thirty years. It was owned and operated as part of the Barletta Family enterprises until 1985. Then it was sold to Mirth Master Corp. of Chester County, PA, who operated the park until 1988. After the 1988 season, the ownership filed for bankruptcy. In 1990, the rides and equipment were auctioned off. During the late 1990s, many of the buildings were razed. During the 2000s, the former park served as a training field for Lackawanna College training program for Lackawanna County policemen. Today, the property is owned by New Land Development of Lackawanna County and is undeveloped.

Wright Township is a township in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 5,726 at the 2020 census.

Conety Run (also known as Conety's Run) is a tributary of Little Nescopeck Creek in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, in the United States. It is approximately 3.6 miles (5.8 km) long and flows through Fairview Township and Dennison Township. The watershed of the stream has an area of 2.32 square miles (6.0 km2). The stream is designated as Class A Wild Trout Waters, but was historically stocked. It has an alkalinity concentration of 2 milligrams per liter, but is slightly acidic. The surficial geology in its vicinity mainly consists of alluvium, Wisconsinan Till, Wisconsinan Ice-Contact Stratified Drift, and bedrock consisting of sandstone and shale.

Bow Creek is a tributary of Big Wapwallopen Creek in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, in the United States. It is approximately 4.5 miles (7.2 km) long and flows through Fairview Township and Wright Township. The watershed of the creek has an area of 4.69 square miles (12.1 km2). The creek has no named tributaries, but several unnamed ones, such as Bow Creek Tributary A. Bow Creek has been historically nearly devoid of life, but is now considered to be Class A Wild Trout Waters. There is a bridge carrying Pennsylvania Route 309 across the creek. Wisconsinan Till, alluvium, and bedrock consisting of sandstone, shale, conglomerate, and coal occur in the watershed. Several volatile organic compounds have been detected in small amounts in surface water in the watershed. The creek occasionally floods, but such flooding typically causes little damage.

Creasy Creek is a tributary of Nescopeck Creek in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, in the United States. It is approximately 4.7 miles (7.6 km) long and flows through Dennison Township. The watershed of the creek has an area of 7.25 square miles (18.8 km2). The creek ranges from very slightly acidic to very slightly alkaline. It is considered to be a High-Quality Coldwater Fishery (although it was a Coldwater Fishery in the past) and Class A Wild Trout Waters. Creasy Creek has one named tributary and at least one unnamed tributary.
