Centrum Nauki Kopernik is a station on the central part of Line M2 of the Warsaw Metro. The station fully opened for passenger use on 8 March 2015 as part of the inaugural stretch of Line M2 between Rondo Daszyńskiego and Dworzec Wileński. It was designed by Polish architect Andrzej M. Chołdzyński and constructed by Metroprojekt. Murals were created by Wojciech Fangor, artist of the Polish School of Posters. The station is near the Wybrzeże Kościuszkowskie street, very close to the bank of the Vistula river and the Copernicus Science Centre (Polish: Centrum Nauki Kopernik) which it is named after.

Powiśle (pronounced Po-vee-shle; literally along-the-Vistula) is a neighbourhood in Warsaw's borough of Śródmieście (Downtown). It is located between the Vistula river and its escarpment. Historically, it is composed of three neighbourhoods: central Powiśle, Mariensztat to the north (just below the Warsaw's Old Town) and Solec to the south. In the 17th and 18th centuries the area was mostly inhabited by the poor. Little changed in the 19th century when the neighbourhood became slightly industrialized. It retained the character of a city slum until its almost complete destruction during the Warsaw Uprising of 1944. It was inhabited by the unemployed and craftsmen of all types, factory and port workers, smiths, coalers, sand vendors, fishermen and prostitutes. As such it was similar in character to London Docklands. After the war, the area became partially rebuilt and the area of Mariensztat became the first neighbourhood of Warsaw to be reconstructed. Currently there are plans to turn the area into the Warsaw University campus, a notion that was already started by the construction of the Warsaw University Library and several faculties there.

Copernicus Science Centre (Polish: Centrum Nauki Kopernik) is a science museum standing on the bank of the Vistula River in Warsaw, Poland. It contains over 450 interactive exhibits that enable visitors to single-handedly carry out experiments and discover the laws of science for themselves. The Centre is the largest institution of its type in Poland and one of the most advanced in Europe. In 2018, since its opening, it had been visited by over 8 million people.The first module of the Centre building was opened on 5 November 2010 with five galleries (On the move, Humans and the environment, Roots of civilization, Lightzone, Bzzz!); the exhibit for teenagers – RE: generation was opened 3 March 2011; a planetarium The Heavens of Copernicus opened on 19 June, the Discovery Park on 15 July, chemistry laboratory - 18 October; biology laboratory - 15 November, robotics workshop - 6 December, and physics laboratory - 20 December.Since 2008, the Copernicus Science Centre together with Polish Radio has organized the Science Picnic - Europe's largest outdoor science-popularization event. In 2011 the Centre hosted the ECSITE conference (European Network of Science Centres and Museums) – one of the most important events in the field of science centres and museums in the world.

The Świętokrzyski Bridge (Polish: most Świętokrzyski, English: Holy Cross Bridge) is a bridge over the Vistula river in Warsaw, Poland linking Powiśle neighbourhood with Praga Północ district. It is a cable-stayed bridge, 479 m long, with two lanes for vehicles, a pavement and a cycle path each way. The single tower, 90 m high, located on the right (eastern) river bank, has 48 cables attached supporting the deck. Near the left (western) bank the bridge is supported by two piers. The bridge was opened on 6 October 2000 after two years' construction. The bridge's name comes from Świętokrzyska Street, which forms part of the access route from the city centre. According to the data from Stołecznego Zarządu Dróg Miejskich (Capital City Road Authority) in 2018, on average 23,418 vehicles passed the Świętokrzyski Bridge daily.

Tamka Street, ulica Tamka in Polish, is a street in the Powiśle district of Warsaw, Poland. The street runs downhill from central Warsaw toward the Vistula River and connects ulica Świętokrzyska with the Świętokrzyski Bridge. The street's name originates from a small dam (Polish: tama) that once dammed a stream that formerly flowed along the course of the present street.

The Średnicowy Bridge is a rail bridge over the Vistula River in Warsaw, north of the Poniatowski Bridge. It forms a part of the Warsaw Cross-City Line and was originally built between 1921 and 1931 to connect the (now defunct) Warszawa Główna railway station and what is now the Warszawa Wschodnia railway station.

The Karol Beyer Park is an urban park in Warsaw, Poland, within the Downtown district. It is located on the Warsaw Escarpment, between Smolna Street, Kruczewskiego Street, Warsaw Cross-City Line, and Warszawa Powiśle railway station. The park was opened in the 1970s.

Warszawa Powiśle, in English Warsaw Powiśle, is an urban railway station in Warsaw, Poland. Located in the neighborhood of Powiśle in borough of Śródmieście (Downtown), stretching between Aleje Jerozolimskie near Rondo Charles'a de Gaulle'a (high-level entrance), and the intersection of Aleja 3 Maja and ul. Kruczkowskiego (low-level entrance).

Janina Porazińska Park is an urban park in Warsaw, Poland. It is located in the neighbourhood of Solec in the Downtown district, between Kruczkowskiego, Solec, and Ludna Streets, and Trzeciego Maja Avenue. The park was opened in 2011.

The Kościuszko Infantry Division Memorial (Pomnik Kościuszkowców) commemorates the attempt to aid the Warsaw Uprising by soldiers of the Soviet-organised Polish 1st Tadeusz Kościuszko Infantry Division during World War II. It stands at the intersection of Wybrzeże Helskie and Okrzei Streets at the entrance to Port Praski (the port of Praga) in North Praga in Warsaw, near the former Komora Wodna building on the Vistula river. By September 14, 1944, troops from the Polish 1st Infantry Division and the Red Army had cleared the Wehrmacht from the capitol city's right bank (known as (Praga)), while the Warsaw Uprising was still ongoing from August 1 across the river in Warsaw proper. Detachments from the Polish Division attempted several landings at Czerniaków (in Solec) and Kępa Potocka (in Żoliborz) to give their support to the Uprising. However, due to insufficient planning and non-existent tactical support, the landings ultimately failed to relieve the Polish partisan army in the capitol.

The Chopin University of Music (Polish: Uniwersytet Muzyczny Fryderyka Chopina, UMFC) is a musical conservatorium and academy located in central Warsaw, Poland. It is the oldest and largest music school in Poland, and one of the largest in Europe.
