Al-Qasr al-Sagir

The Royal Monastery of Saint Clare (Monasterio de Santa Clara la Real) is a monastery of the Poor Clares located in Murcia, Spain. Originating in the 14th century and occupying the site of a 13th century Muslim palace, it is one of the most historically significant buildings in the city. It contains remains of the Arab palace, which are among the most important examples of Islamic art in Murcia. The monastery also features a Gothic cloister and choir, as well as a Baroque church. Part of the building currently houses the Museum of Santa Clara, while the western wing hosts the Las Claras Cultural Center of Caja Murcia.

The Archaeological Museum of Murcia (Spanish: Museo Arqueológico de Murcia; MAM) is a State-owned archaeological museum in Murcia, Spain.

Murcia (, US also , Spanish: [ˈmuɾθja] ) is a city in south-eastern Spain, the capital and most populous city of the autonomous community of the Region of Murcia, and the seventh largest city in the country. It had a population of 460,349 inhabitants in 2021 (about one third of the total population of the Region). The total population of the metropolitan area is 672,773 in 2020, covering an urban area of 1,230.9 km2. It is located on the Segura River, in the southeast of the Iberian Peninsula. It has a climate with hot summers, mild winters, and relatively low precipitation. Murcia was founded by Abd ar-Rahman II, Emir of Cordoba, in 825 with the name Mursiyah (Arabic: مرسية). Highlights for visitors include the Cathedral of Murcia and a number of baroque buildings, renowned local cuisine, Holy Week procession, works of art by the famous Murcian sculptor Francisco Salzillo, and the Fiestas de Primavera (Spring Festival). The city, as the capital of the comarca Huerta de Murcia, is called "Europe's orchard" due to its long agricultural tradition and its fruit, vegetable, and flower production and exports.

The Cathedral Church of Saint Mary in Murcia (Spanish: Iglesia Catedral de Santa María en Murcia), commonly called the Cathedral of Murcia, is a Catholic church in the city of Murcia, Spain. It is the cathedral of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Cartagena.

The Museum of the Church of San Juan de Dios in Murcia, Region of Murcia, Spain, is one of the locations of the Museum of Fine Arts of Murcia (MUBAM). It houses an important collection of religious imagery from the 15th to the 20th century. The 18th century former church is in a traditional square near the Cathedral in the historic center of Murcia. The church was part of the former Templar San Juan de Dios Hospital, which had previously been the fortress and palace of the Muslim ruler.

The Puente de los Peligros (Spanish for bridge of the hazards) or also known as the Puente Viejo (Spanish for old bridge) is an arched stone bridge, completed in 1742, that spans the River Segura in the city of Murcia (Region of Murcia, Spain). As this is the oldest bridge of the city, it is known as old bridge as opposed to the Puente Nuevo (Spanish for new bridge) built in 1903. The popular name of Puente de los Peligros is due to the presence on the south side of the bridge of a niche that keeps a wooden statue of Our Lady of the Hazards, work of Francisco Sánchez Araciel.

The Qasaba of Murcia was the military headquarters of the Emirate of Murcia. After the conquest by Castille it became a church and later part of a Templar hospital, and is now the San Juan de Dios museum. Traditional historiography (later confirmed through archaeological excavations) already suggested the existence in Al-Andalus of a vast palatial-military complex or citadel (qasaba) in this area of the city. Within its walls stood both the palace or official residence for the monarch or governor (qasr) and a small oratory, baths, and a rawda or pantheon, as well as other buildings linked to the court. The Emirate of Murcia became a protectorate of the Crown of Castile under the Treaty of Alcaraz in 1243. As a result, Prince Alfonso (future Alfonso X) entered the city on May 1 of that year, taking possession of the Alcázar Mayor. Meanwhile, the Muslim royal family members, who were still nominally "kings of Murcia," relocated with a growing proportion of the Muslim population to the Al Qasr al-Sagir (Alcázar Menor) in the Arrixaca suburb. This complex was later granted by James I of Aragon to the primary adelantado of Murcia, Alfonso García de Villamayor, after the Aragonese king suppressed the Mudejar revolt of 1264-1266. This marked the end of the protectorate and the application of the right of conquest over the city. A church was established here some time after 1243.

The Battle of Murcia or Battle of the Huerto de las Bombas was a battle on 4 September 1706, between the Bourbons under bishop Luis de Belluga and a combined British and Dutch force. It formed part of the War of the Spanish Succession and occurred near the Spanish town of Murcia. It resulted in a Bourbon victory.

El Puento Nuevo (Spanish for New Bridge) or Puente de Hierro (Spanish for Iron Bridge) is a parabolic metallic bridge spanning the Segura River, completed in 1903 and located in the city of Murcia (Region of Murcia, Spain). As the second bridge built in the city across the river, was called New Bridge to distinguish it from the old bridge (Puente Viejo o Puente de los Peligros), even though today it is the second oldest of the city.

The Church of San Andrés is one of the traditional parish churches in the historic center of Murcia, Spain, located in the San Andrés neighborhood, in the Plaza de San Agustín. The parish dates back to shortly after the Conquest of Murcia, originally located outside the city's walls in the suburb of Arrixaca. However, the current church was originally the conventual church of the Augustinians, which, after the Ecclesiastical confiscations of Mendizábal, was repurposed several times until, in 1886, it became the parish church of San Andrés due to the poor condition of the previous parish church, located on Calle San Andrés, which no longer exists today.

The Plaza de Toros de Murcia (also known as the Plaza de Toros de La Condomina) is a bullring in Murcia, Spain. As of June 2015, it is used for bull fighting. The stadium holds 15,000 people. It was built in 1887.

La Condomina is a multi-use stadium in Murcia, Spain. The stadium holds 16,500 spectators (6,500 seated) and it is currently used mostly for football matches and music concerts.
