Bishop's Court, Devon

Bishop's Clyst was an ancient manor in Devonshire and is also the modern name adopted by the council representing two civil parishes that form part of the East Devon district in the English county of Devon. Bishop's Clyst was formed in 1976 by the merger of the parish councils of Clyst St Mary and Sowton. These are two separate settlements Sowton being a mile or so north of Clyst St Mary. Anciently Bishop's Clist or Clists-Bishops was a manor in the parish of Faringdon held by the de Sachville family and later mortgaged by them to Walter Branscombe (d.1280), Bishop of Exeter. It was later granted by Bishop John Vesey (d.1554) to John Russell, 1st Earl of Bedford.

Westpoint Exeter (formerly Westpoint Arena) is a multi-purpose indoor arena and showground, at Clyst St Mary, near Exeter, England. The capacity of the venue is 7,500 people. It hosts local concerts, fairs and exhibitions. Westpoint is the largest exhibition and entertainment venue in the South West and is located near to Exeter Airport.

Sowton is a village and civil parish east of Exeter in East Devon, England. It has a population of 639.Its parish council merged with that of nearby Clyst St Mary in 1976 to form Bishop's Clyst.St Michael's church was rebuilt in 1844–45, by John Hayward and paid for by John Garratt. He retained the original perpendicular northern arcade. It is a rare example of an early Victorian Tractarian village church. It is a grade I listed building.Sowton has an old village centre but serves as a major Exeter suburb, with a large industrial estate, park and ride site and modern housing developments. Sowton is also the name of an industrial estate at grid reference SX964920. The area is located next to the M5 motorway between junctions 29 and 30, the opposite side from the village and is served by Digby and Sowton railway station. Most of the industrial estate is covered with large retailers, warehousing and distributing, as well as a small number of manufacturers. There is also a Park and Ride location for bus services to Exeter city centre. For a number of years there has been an office development on the main road which was left incomplete as the economy took a downturn during construction.

Clyst St Mary is a small village and civil parish 3 miles (4.8 km) east of Exeter on the main roads to Exmouth and Sidmouth in East Devon. The name comes from the Celtic word clyst meaning 'clear stream'. The village is a major part of the electoral ward of Clyst Valley. At the 2011 Census this ward population was 2,326.

Exeter Science Park is an English centre of activity for businesses in science, technology, engineering, maths and medicine (STEMM).Exeter Science Park is based on a 26 hectare (64 acre site) at Junction of 29 of the M5 motorway on the edge of the city of Exeter. It was established in 2013 and was officially opened in 2015. Exeter Science Park Ltd (ESPL), the park developer, has four shareholders: Devon County Council, the University of Exeter, East Devon District Council and Exeter City Council. Its two strategic partners are the Heart of the South West Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) and the Exeter and East Devon Enterprise Zone.The building of the Science Park Centre was made possible with shareholder equity from Devon County Council, East Devon District Council, Exeter City Council, and the University of Exeter; the Heart of the South West Local Enterprise Partnership (HotSW LEP) which committed a £4.5m loan from the Growing Places Fund; and a £1million grant from the Regional Growth Fund.Exeter Science Park's Grow-on Buildings were partly funded by £4.5m from the HotSW LEP Growth Deal Funding. The HotSW LEP also provided £2.5m local Government funding towards the Environmental Futures Campus.The Ada Lovelace Building is partly funded by £5.5 million from the Heart of the South West Local Enterprise Partnership's Growth Deal Funding. In addition to this, East Devon District Council's Cabinet invested £1.1m in the development of the building in conjunction with Devon County Council as part of the Exeter and East Devon Enterprise Zone programme.Funding for the George Parker Bidder building was secured in August 2020 from the Government's 'Getting Building Fund' and allocated to Exeter Science Park by the Heart of the South West Local Enterprise Partnership (HotSW LEP) from its £35.4 million share of the national pot. The building was one of the first Getting Building Fund projects to begin construction in the area.Buildings at the Science Park include provision of laboratories, offices, meeting rooms and hotdesking facilities. It is also home to a café which is open to the public. In 2021, the University of Exeter transferred the business activity of its Innovation Centre to Exeter Science Park and released £2.25m funding to support the provision of innovation services by SETsquared Exeter over the next 18 years.The park is being developed around four clusters and once complete, it is anticipated it will comprise a million square feet of accommodation and employ around 3,000 people.

Exeter services is a motorway service station on the M5 motorway in Devon, England. It is situated at junction 30 of the motorway, east of the city of Exeter, and is accessed from both directions of the motorway. The service station opened in 1977 and is owned and operated by Moto Hospitality. It is the southernmost motorway service station in the United Kingdom.

Clyst Honiton (or Honiton Clyst) is an English village and civil parish five miles from Exeter in the East Devon district, in the county of Devon. The church is St Michael and All Angels. Exeter International Airport which opened in 1938 is located on the outskirts of the village. The village was originally on the main A30 road from Exeter to Honiton but was bypassed in the 1990s. Another bypass to the east of the village linking the A30 to the new developments around Cranbrook opened in October 2013.The parish is surrounded clockwise from the north by the parishes of Broad Clyst, Rockbeare, Aylesbeare, Farringdon and Sowton. In 2001 its population was 295.The village is mentioned in the Robyn Hitchcock song "Goodnight I Say".

Sandy Park is a rugby union stadium and conference and banqueting centre in Exeter, England. It is the home ground of Exeter Chiefs, who from the 2010–11 season have been playing in Premiership Rugby, the top flight of the English rugby union league system. The club relocated there from their former stadium at the County Ground in 2006. The stadium can hold 15,600 spectators and is located adjacent to M5 junction 30, which is around 5 miles from Exeter City Centre.Sandy Park played host to the England Saxons vs Ireland Wolfhounds on 28 January 2012; the England Saxons won 23–17.

Clyst St George (anciently Clyst Champernowne) is a village and civil parish in East Devon, England, adjoining the River Clyst some 4 miles (6.4 km) southeast of Exeter and 5 miles (8.0 km) north of Exmouth.

Digby and Sowton railway station is on the Avocet Line in Devon, England.

The Heavitree isolation hospital, also for a time known as the Exeter Corporation Tuberculosis Sanatorium, was a small pulmonary tuberculosis sanatorium located on Hollow Lane, Exeter, United Kingdom. The site is a few hundred metres to the west of the Whipton Hospital (formerly the Whipton Isolation Hospital).

Monkerton is a small hamlet in the village of Pinhoe in the county of Devon. Pinhoe Railway Station is situated there. Monkerton is set to expand hugely from 2015 onwards, with housing developers gaining planning permission to build properties. Barratt David Wilson are currently due to build 178 units, including social housing and private housing. They have proposed to incorporate their homes into the natural wildlife of the area and enhance their habitats at the same time.Exeter College has also built an "engineering and mechanics" college near by. This and the local amenities will be huge factors in peoples decisions to live in Monkerton.
