East Tampa

College Hill is a neighborhood within the city limits of Tampa, Florida, in the United States. As of the 2010 census the neighborhood had a population of 703. However this includes only the subdivision of Belmont Heights Estates. Neighboring Ponce de Leon Estates is also part of this neighborhood the ZIP Codes serving the neighborhood are 33605 and 33610. The neighborhood is part of the East Tampa District. The neighborhood includes a new community of Belmont Heights Estates, which was built out in 2002 to replace substandard housing in the area.

Academy Prep Center of Tampa is a private middle school housed in the V.M. Ybor building in Ybor City, Florida.

La Segunda Central Bakery is a historic purveyor of Cuban bread, pastries, and other baked goods in the Ybor City section of Tampa, Florida. Founded in 1915, it was one of three bakeries begun in a co-op: La Primera, La Segunda and La Tercera. The other two closed and La Segunda was purchased by Juan Moré, whose family has continued its operation for four generations. La Segunda Central is the largest baker of Cuban bread in Tampa and delivers its signature product to many stores and restaurants around town, including the historic Columbia Restaurant nearby in Ybor City. The business operates as a wholesale and retail bakery as well as a deli, offering a wide assortment of specialties including medianoche bread, scacciata, meat pies, sausage rolls, guava turnovers, Spanish cuisine flan, Italian cookie, sandwiches, cakes and café con leche. The bakery is located at 2512 N 15th Street.

The Old People's Home (also known as The Home Association) is a historic building in the V.M. Ybor neighborhood of Tampa, Florida. It is located at 1203 East 22nd Avenue. On October 17, 2000, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. Built in 1924, the two story, Colonial Revival style building with a grand, columned portico along the main facade was primarily designed by Frank A. Winn, Jr. and A.H. Johnson. It was Tampa's first privately supported and purpose-built home for the care of the elderly and represented a major civic achievement for the community. The building is set on a 4.5-acre (18,000 m2) site which features several stately oak trees. The building continues to operate as a residential elder-care facility per its original intent as The Home Association, Inc., a not-for-profit Senior Skilled Nursing Facility.

The Tampa Baseball Museum is a museum in the Ybor City neighborhood of Tampa, Florida. Located in the rehabilitated childhood home of Al López, Tampa's first Major League player, manager, and Hall of Fame Inductee, the museum includes exhibits to commemorate the city's baseball heritage.The house was moved from its original location at 1210 E 12th Ave to the museum dedicated location at the corner of 19th Street and Ninth Avenue. The Tampa Baseball Museum is located at 2003 N. 19th Street.

The current sheriff is Chad Chronister. Sheriff Chronister was appointed by Florida Governor Rick Scott on September 30, 2017, to fill the position after the retirement of David Gee.The office has one of the lowest officer-to-citizen ratios in the state with 1.4 deputies per 1000 citizens. The national average is 2.3 per 1000. The population of Hillsborough County in 2006 was 1,157,738.

V.M. Ybor is a neighborhood within the city limits of Tampa, Florida, United States. As of the 2010 census, the neighborhood had a population of 1,743. The ZIP Codes serving the neighborhood are 33602, 33603, and 33605. The central Tampa area now known as V.M. Ybor, a National Historic Landmark District and now part of the local historic district Barrio Latino, was settled soon after Ybor City was founded in 1885. Ybor City itself was annexed by the city of Tampa in 1887. The "V.M." in the name stands for "Vicente Martinez", as in Vicente Martinez Ybor, the Spanish cigar manufacturer who founded Ybor City in 1885. The area is officially classified as a separate neighborhood from the Ybor City Historic District . History For several decades, many Cuban, Spanish, and Italian cigar workers, managers, accountants and other business owners lived in the middle-class neighborhood just a few blocks north of the commercial district of Ybor City that centered on 7th Avenue. Mid-century, changes in the economics and business ventures of the cigar industry caused many residents to move to other parts of Tampa. Despite this, and the urban renewal that took place in nearby Ybor City during the 1960s, many historic homes and structures in V.M. Ybor maintain their historic framework. Today, many homes, commercial buildings, and cigar factories built in the early 1900s still stand with some functioning as architectural firms, social media and technology businesses as well as design consulting corporations. The early part of the aughts (00s) brought an influx of new homeowners and residents eager to restore the neighborhood to its glory in central Tampa.

The Ybor City Historic District ( EE-bor) is a U.S. National Historic Landmark District (designated as such on December 14, 1990) located in Tampa, Florida. The district is bounded by 6th Avenue, 13th Street, 10th Avenue and 22nd Street, East Broadway between 13th and 22nd Streets. Ybor City contains a total of 956 historic buildings, including an unparalleled collection of architecture with Spanish-Cuban influence, as well as historic cigar factory buildings and associated infrastructure. The area was developed by businessman Vicente Martinez Ybor beginning in 1886, and was for a time the world's leading supplier of cigars.The Ybor City Museum State Park is located in the former Ferlita Bakery building (originally La Joven Francesca) building on 9th Avenue. Tours of the gardens and the "casitas" (small homes of cigar company workers) are provided by a ranger. Exhibits, period photos and a video cover the founding of Ybor City and the cigar making industry.The Latino Barrio Commission, a city of Tampa-sanctioned committee of neighborhood community and business leaders, architects, and local residents, is charged with "preserving the historic fabric of the District and maintaining its architectural integrity."

Centennial Park is a TECO Line streetcar station in Tampa, Florida. The station has one track and one side platform on the north side of 8th Avenue. It is the first station on the streetcar and was the location of the opening ceremony of the first train. There is parking for the station just north.

Ybor City Museum State Park is a Florida State Park in Tampa, Florida's Ybor City. The museum occupies the former Ferlita Bakery (originally La Joven Francesca) building at 1818 9th Avenue in the Ybor City Historic District. The bakery was known for producing cuban bread and its ovens are part of the museum displays covering the history of the cigar industry and the Latin community from the 1880s through the 1930s. There is also an ornamental garden in the building (available for rental after regular hours). Tours of the gardens and the "casitas" (small homes of cigar company workers) are provided by a ranger. Exhibits, period photos and a video cover the founding of Ybor City and the cigar making industry.

Columbia Restaurant is a restaurant in Ybor City, Tampa, Florida. It is the oldest continuously operated restaurant in Florida, as well as the oldest Spanish restaurant in the United States and the largest Spanish restaurant in the world. It has 15 dining rooms containing 1,700 seats, totaling 52,000 square feet. Founded in 1903 as Saloon Columbia, it was renamed in 1905 to Columbia Restaurant. The landmark has been owned by the Hernandez-Gonzmart family for five generations and serves Spanish and Cuban cuisine.In addition to the original location in Ybor City, there are Columbia restaurants in Sarasota (opened in 1959); in St. Augustine (opened in 1983); on Sand Key (1989); and in Celebration, Florida (1997). There are also smaller Columbia Café restaurants located at the Tampa Bay History Center (opened in 2009) and at Tampa International Airport (opened in May 2012).
