Malý Šariš

Župčany (Hungarian: Zsebefalva) is a village and municipality in Prešov District in the Prešov Region of eastern Slovakia.

Veľký Šariš (Hungarian: Nagysáros) is a small town near Prešov in eastern Slovakia. The town is known as the site of the largest brewery in Slovakia – Šariš Brewery.

Šariš Castle (Slovak: Šarišský hrad, Hungarian: Sáros vára) is a ruined Gothic and Renaissance era stone castle above the town of Veľký Šariš in Prešov District, Prešov Region, Slovakia. It is a hilltop castle located on a cone-shaped hill with a wide plateau at its top, in an altitude of approximately 570 m (1870.07 ft) above sea level. The ruins lie 6-7 km northwest of Prešov, Slovakia, in the traditional region Šariš. The castle is listed in the National Cultural Heritage list of the Monuments Board of the Slovak Republic.

All Saints Church is a Roman Catholic Church in Medzany, Saris region, Slovakia. The original church was built in 1330. A monastery stood in the field of the church from 1260 and the current church was probably built from its remains. The church had a thatched roof until 1900. In the year 1940 the interior of the altar was painted. In the year 1970 rebuilding of choir was realized, the space extended to the tower. In the following year side chapels were built, the pavement was added into the interior replacing flagstones. At the same time pews and seats were substituted. In the following year whole interior was repainted. After the year 2000 work started for the construction of aisles on both sides and at the same time the space of the sacristy was extended. Pavement was added to the whole interior. In the present altar is decorating with gold.

Medzany is a village and municipality in Prešov District in the Prešov Region of eastern Slovakia. It has a 14th-century Catholic Church All Saints Church, Medzany

Svinia (Hungarian: Szinye) is a village of some 1,500 people (as of 2005) in eastern Slovakia about 8 kilometres (5.0 mi) west from Prešov. The village covers an area of 14.734 square kilometres (5.689 sq mi). Svinia is located in the Šariš Highlands in the valley of Veľká and Mala Svinka. The village is one of the oldest villages in the former Šariš County. The village belonged to the Hungarian Merše family from Budapest from 1262 to 1918. Until 1262, the settlement of Svinia belonged to Bár-Kalán ban of Slavonia.

Tatran Stadium (Štadión Tatran Prešov in Slovak) is a multi-purpose stadium in Prešov, Slovakia. It is not currently used for any of football matches, because its expected reconstruction . The stadium new capacity should be 6,500 spectators (all seated) after reconstruction. The stadium old capacity was 5,410 spectators (all seated).

Sáros (-Hungarian, Slovak: Šariš, Latin: comitatus Sarossiensis, German: Scharosch) was an administrative county (comitatus) of the Kingdom of Hungary. Its territory is now in northeastern Slovakia. Today, Šariš is only an informal designation of the corresponding territory.

Kojatice (Hungarian: Kajáta) is a village and municipality in Prešov District in the Prešov Region of eastern Slovakia.

Gregorovce (Hungarian: Gergelylaka) is a village and municipality in Prešov District in the Prešov Region of eastern Slovakia.

The Alexander Dukhnovych Theater (Rusyn: Tеатр Александра Духновіча, Teatr Aleksandra Duxnoviča, although the sign in the adjacent photo reads Tеатр Александра Духновича; Slovak: Divadlo Alexandra Duchnoviča), located in Prešov, is the only Slovak theatre providing plays in the Rusyn language.

The University of Prešov (Slovak: Prešovská univerzita v Prešove) is the only public university in the Prešov self-governing region of Slovakia. It focuses on the areas of social, natural, and theological sciences, sport, arts, management, and health care. It was established by law in December 1996 by splitting the University of Pavol Jozef Šafárik in Košice into the University of Pavol Jozef Šafárik in Košice and Prešov University in Prešov. It was officially established on 1 January 1997. The outcomes of its active education and research programmes stretch significantly beyond the borders of Eastern Slovakia. Among its organizational units are three centres of excellence: Centre of Excellence in Lingual-Cultural Translation and Interpretation Centre of Excellence in Socio-Historical and Cultural-Historical Research Centre of Excellence in Animal and Human EcologyThrough bilateral agreements, the university cooperates with 75 higher education institutions from more than 20 countries, while Presov students and teachers can spend time at one of more than 300 universities across Europe under the framework of the Erasmus programme. In addition, staff members present the results of their studies in articles that are published at home and abroad, as well as at various scientific events in countries such as Russia, South Africa, Singapore, Switzerland and the UK.
