Evesham Abbey was founded by Saint Egwin at Evesham in Worcestershire, England between 700 and 710 following an alleged vision of the Virgin Mary by a swineherd by the name of Eof.According to the monastic history, Evesham came through the Norman Conquest unusually well, because of a quick approach by Abbot Æthelwig to William the Conqueror. The abbey is of Benedictine origin, and became in its heyday one of the wealthiest in the country. Simon de Montfort (1208–1265) is buried near the high altar of the ruined abbey, the spot marked by an altar-like memorial monument dedicated by the Archbishop of Canterbury in 1965.During the 16th-century dissolution of the monasteries, almost all of the abbey was demolished. Today, only one section of walling survives from the abbey itself, although fragments of the 13th-century chapter house, together with the almonry, the 16th-century bell tower and a gateway remain. The abbey's site is a scheduled monument and has several listed structures within it and adjacent to it, of which four are designated at the highest Grade I level.

Evesham () is a market town and parish in the Wychavon district of Worcestershire, in the West Midlands region of England. It is located roughly equidistant between Worcester, Cheltenham and Stratford-upon-Avon. It lies within the Vale of Evesham, an area comprising the flood plain of the River Avon, which has been renowned for market gardening. The town centre, situated within a meander of the river, is subjected regularly to flooding. The 2007 floods were the most severe in recorded history. The town was founded around an 8th-century abbey, one of the largest in Europe, which was destroyed during the Dissolution of the Monasteries, with only Abbot Lichfield's Bell Tower remaining. During the 13th century, one of the two main battles of England's Second Barons' War took place near the town, marking the victory of Prince Edward, who later became King Edward I; this was the Battle of Evesham.

All Saints Church is an active Anglican church in the centre of the town of Evesham, Worcestershire, England. All Saints and its neighbour St Lawrence's Church were built by the Benedictine monks of Evesham Abbey in the 12th century to serve the people of Evesham. All Saints is now the town's parish church, as St Lawrence's was declared redundant in the 1970s. It has been designated as a Grade I listed building by Historic England.

Vale of Evesham School in Evesham, in the county of Worcestershire, England, is a special needs school for around 150 mixed gender pupils aged 3 to 19 of whom approximately 35 are in the 6th form. It caters for children with special educational needs and also accommodates 15 pupils as boarders on a weekly basis.Pupils follow a curriculum based on National Curriculum core subjects together with activities that offer education for pupils having special moderate to severe learning difficulties that include a wide range of disabilities from autism, behavioural, emotional and social problems. The school was granted specialist status for cognition and learning and awards include Investors in People, Careers Education and Guidance Quality Mark, ArtsMark, Eco School and the Healthy School Award. The school converted to academy status in April 2013. A December 2009 Ofsted report classed the school with a Grade 2 (good), with several points at Grade 1 (outstanding).In November 2019 Ofsted report classed the school as Inadequate listing "serious, widespread failings in safeguarding children" finding staff members employed with criminal records unbeknown to senior leaders, students accessing and administering medication unaccompanied, and defective fire doors and lack of regular risk assessments.<

St Lawrence's Church is a redundant Anglican church in the centre of the town of Evesham, Worcestershire, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building, and is under the care of the Churches Conservation Trust. It stands close to All Saints Church, and to the bell tower of the former Evesham Abbey.

It is governed by Evesham Town Council. The focus of the museum is on the history of the town and Vale of Evesham. The museum derives its name from the original use of the building as the almonry of the 14th-century Evesham Abbey The museum opened within this building in 1957.
