The Michigan Maritime Museum is a museum and research library located in South Haven in the U.S. state of Michigan. The museum is located next to the Dyckman Avenue bascule bridge on the Black River just in from Lake Michigan, the second-largest by volume of the five Great Lakes. The museum specializes in the maritime history of the state of Michigan and the lake of the same name.

Friends Good Will is a working American reproduction of the historical Friends Good Will (1811–1813), a merchant square-rigged topsail sloop that was overtaken by the events of the War of 1812. The British captured her in a ruse of war shortly after they captured Fort Mackinac, and renamed her HMS Little Belt. In British service she was armed with a 9-pounder pivot gun and two 6-pounder guns. The Americans recaptured her during the Battle of Lake Erie. She then served in the US Navy before the British destroyed her at the end of December 1813. The current vessel was built in 2004, at Scarano Boat Building, Inc. in Albany, New York, and was sailed by volunteers through Lakes Ontario, Erie, Huron, and Michigan to the Michigan Maritime Museum, in South Haven, Michigan where she brings the area's history to life through educational tours, day sails, and school field trips. She can also be found visiting ports throughout the Great Lakes for maritime festivals and American Sail Training Association races. During Michigan winters, Friends Good Will remains at the Michigan Maritime Museum. Her lines, spars, and sails are removed each October during the downrigging process, and inspected, repaired and/or replaced during ongoing winter maintenance by the volunteers of the ship's company. The following April, the ship's company removes the vessel's cover and performs her uprigging over the course of two weekends. USS Providence, John Paul Jones' first command as a captain, was a similar square topsail sloop.

The Hotel Nichols is a brick hotel in South Haven, Michigan, with two stories comprising 17 rooms and 2 suites. The hotel is family-owned and operated on the corner of Center and Williams Streets downtown. The hotel first opened for business in 1884.

The National Blueberry Festival, also known as the South Haven Blueberry Festival, is held in South Haven, Michigan every year in August.It is annually hosted every second weekend in the Month of August. It is one of the longest-running blueberry festivals in the United States and began calling itself a national festival in 1969. There are about nearly 50,000 people that attend every year. Many events were reduced in 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Background The National Blueberry festival was initially conceived by locals to honor the blueberry harvest. This event holds significance as South Haven is a major hub for blueberry production. There are parades, live music performances, arts and crafts shows, a classic car show, and even blueberry-themed athletic competitions.

South Haven is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan. Most of the city is in Van Buren County, although a small portion extends into Allegan County. The population was 3,964 at the 2020 census. Because of its position on Lake Michigan, at the mouth of the Black River, South Haven has always been a port city. During settlement, major ship lines stopped there, both passenger and freight. In the early 1900s South Haven became a resort town, sometimes referred to as "The Catskills of the Midwest." South Haven is a major regional tourist draw because of its recreational harbor and beaches. It is the western terminus of the Kal-Haven Trail, popular with bicyclists and snowmobilers. Nearby are Van Buren State Park and the Van Buren Trail State Park. Noted botanist Liberty Hyde Bailey was born in South Haven. His childhood home was presented to the city in the 1930s, and is now a museum.

The South Haven South Pierhead Light is a lighthouse in Michigan, at the entrance to the Black River on Lake Michigan. The station was lit in 1872, and is still operational. The tower is a shortened version of the Muskegon South Pierhead Light, and replaced an 1872 wooden tower. The catwalk is original and still links the tower to shore: it is one of only four that survive in the State of Michigan.

The Liberty Hyde Bailey Birthplace, now the Liberty Hyde Bailey Museum, is a farmhouse located at 903 Bailey Avenue in South Haven, Michigan, and is significant as the birthplace and childhood home of horticulturist Liberty Hyde Bailey. It was designated a Michigan State Historic Site in 1963 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

South Haven Charter Township is a charter township of Van Buren County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 4,041 at the 2020 census. The city of South Haven is located to the northwest of the township. The city of South Haven has annexed portions of land that was once within the township boundaries, but is administratively autonomous. There are no other incorporated municipalities within the township. The area south of South Haven is considered to be a part of the city's urban area. Other settlements are in the unincorporated communities: Maple Grove Corners is at 42°22′32″N 86°14′38″W. The elevation is 682 feet above sea level. Crystal Beach is a development area on the shores of Lake Michigan several miles south of South Haven and just north of Van Buren State Park. It is at 42°21′24″N 86°17′53″W. South Haven Area Regional Airport is a public-use airport located 3 miles south of South Haven, Michigan. It is publicly owned by the city through the South Haven Area Regional Airport Authority. In 2019, the airport was awarded with the Airport of the Year Award General Aviation Airport Category. The award is presented in recognition of sustained excellence in contribution to aviation progress in the State of Michigan.

Van Buren State Park is a 400-acre (160 ha) public recreation area on Lake Michigan four miles (6.4 km) south of South Haven, Michigan, United States. The state park, which is maintained and operated by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, is located in the southwest corner of South Haven Township and the northwest corner of Covert Township, just north of the Palisades Nuclear Power Plant. The Van Buren County–owned North Point Conservation Area is located directly north of the park. The park has forested sand dunes, camping, and a swimming beach.

North Point Park, also known as North Point Conservation Area, is located in the southwestern portion of the U.S. state of Michigan, along the shore of Lake Michigan. The park is owned by Van Buren County, Michigan and includes about 17 acres (6.9 ha) of public land situated on the Lake Michigan shore. The park is adjacent to, and due North of, the Van Buren State Park (Michigan). Public access to the conservation area is gained via an entrance and parking area on Ruggles Road (off of Blue Star Highway). North Point Park has 330 feet (100 m) of scenic Lake Michigan beach, forested critical dunes, and wetlands. The Southwest Michigan Land Conservancy has a conservation easement on the property to protect it from future development. The park boasts unmarked trails that meander through a climax maple / beech forest to the top of a sand dune where a panoramic view of Lake Michigan can be enjoyed. Many visitors access the area by boat and use the beach for summertime recreation. On a nice summer day, several boats are often anchored off the shore of North Point. Lake Michigan and the Great Lakes are a natural wonder which contain more than 95% of North America’s freshwater and are the largest readily available source of freshwater in the world. Less than one percent of the natural habitat near the shores of Lake Michigan is still intact.
