Nishmat: The Jeanie Schottenstein Center for Advanced Torah Study for Women is a Modern Orthodox Jewish institution of higher Torah learning for women, or midrasha. It was one of the first educational frameworks to teach Talmud to women. It is a pioneer in certification of women as Yoatzot Halacha, experts in the intersection of women's health and Halacha. Nishmat opened in the Kiryat Moshe neighborhood of Jerusalem and later moved to Bayit VeGan. It is currently located in the Pat neighborhood of Jerusalem.

Israel Goldstein Youth Village, known in Hebrew as the Havat HaNoar HaTzioni (Hebrew: חוות הנוער הציוני), is a youth village and high school in Jerusalem, Israel.

Mekor Chaim (also Makor Haim, Hebrew: מקור חיים, lit. Source of life) is a neighborhood in southwest Jerusalem. It was named for Haim Cohen, a wealthy Jewish businessman who donated large sums of money toward the purchase of land in Jerusalem before World War I.

A bomb attack was carried out on a bus in the Talpiot neighborhood in Jerusalem on 18 April 2016 at around 18:00. The bomber was a member of Hamas, which however did not claim responsibility. At least 21 people were injured, two critically.

Katamon or Qatamon (Arabic: قطمون Katamun, Hebrew: קטמון, Greek: Καταμώνας Katamónas) is a neighborhood in south-central Jerusalem. The official Hebrew name, Gonen (גּוֹנֵן‎), is mainly used in municipal publications.Katamon is derived from the Greek κατὰ τῷ μοναστηρίῳ ("by the monastery"). The neighborhood is built next to an old Greek Orthodox monastery, believed to be built on the home and the tomb of Simeon from the Gospel of Luke. The neighborhood was established in the early 1900s, shortly before World War I as a wealthy, predominantly Palestinian Christian neighborhood. During the 1947–48 Civil War in Mandatory Palestine the local population fled the intense fighting in the area and were not allowed to return by the new Israeli state. Instead Katamon was soon repopulated by Jewish refugees.

Givat Oranim (Hebrew: גבעת אורנים) is a neighborhood in southwestern Jerusalem, bordered by Katamon, Rassco, San Simon and Kiryat Shmuel.Givat Oranim was established after 1948. The area played an important part in the battle for the San Simon monastery during 1948 Palestine war. It is populated by a mix of national religious and secular Jews. Large-scale building in 1991 included a project of 78 housing units combining high rise buildings and townhouses.In this neighborhood there was an attempt to assassinate the left-wing activist, Zeev Sternhell, by putting a bomb on his apartment door.

The Jerusalem Studio School is a private art school located in Jerusalem, Israel. Founded by artist Israel Hershberg in 1998, the Jerusalem Studio School offers rigorous training in drawing and painting within the figurative art tradition. It is the first school in Israel that focuses on realist painting.

Train Track Park (Hebrew: פארק המסילה, Park HaMesila) is a rail trail urban park in West Jerusalem. Featuring 7 kilometres (4.3 mi) of walking and biking trails, the park follows the route of the original Jaffa–Jerusalem railway from the Jerusalem Railway Station near the German Colony to Teddy Stadium in Malha. The park is built over – and incorporates in its design – the original railway tracks installed in 1892 and used through 1998. The park has been noted as a symbol of coexistence in the divided city, as it passes through Jewish and Arab neighborhoods and is used by residents of both.

A suicide bombing on an Egged bus was carried out by Hamas in Jerusalem on June 18, 2002, killing 19 people and wounding over 74. 17 of the dead were residents of Gilo.
