Oakford is an outer suburb of Perth, Western Australia, within the Shire of Serpentine-Jarrahdale. The suburb was named in 1982, taking its name from a townsite briefly declared in the area in 1926.

Oldbury is a district to the south of Perth, Western Australia, within the Peel region. It has no central township, and lies west of the South Western Highway, close to Byford and Mundijong. Part of the Pinjarra Plain, the district is a productive environment featuring dairy and rural engagements, although consisting of sandy soils and largely felled. The area was part of the Group Settlement Scheme, being established in 1922 as Group 35, along with the drainage scheme that contributed to the Peel Estuary environmental task and the consequent Dawesville Cut. Oldbury is part of a major realigning process in the Perth metro area, as divisions of regional land and urban districts develop, boundaries maintained since European settlement. It was established as a locality name on 1 May 1997.

Casuarina Prison is the main maximum-security prison for Western Australia, located in the Perth, Western Australia suburb of Casuarina. The prison accommodates minimum-, medium- and maximum-security prisoners. It was opened in 1991 to replace Fremantle Prison, which was 130 years old. The prison was the scene of a riot on Christmas Day 1998. The prison featured in the documentary Australia's Hardest Prison: Lockdown Oz on the National Geographic channel in 2008, following the lives of prisoners and officers.In 2013 the prison was the setting for the film Son of a Gun.The prison has been subject of multiple legal actions due to alleged "inhumane conditions". In 2022, seventeen teenagers were relocated to the maximum security prison prompting a class action. The Department of Justice has defended its actions, while victim advocates have raised concerns around the law firm representing the youth.The Australian Human Rights Commission has raised concerns about the issue of teenagers being held at the prison, prompting calls for further action.

Wandi is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia in the City of Kwinana at its northern border. The suburb was approved on 14 March 1978. The suburb is zoned Special Rural, which prevents the loss of trees from clearing. The area is mainly divided into 2-hectare (5-acre) lots. The land of Wandi is bushland, and some of it is part of the Jandakot Regional Park. The Western boundary is the Kwinana Freeway. Market gardens in the western area bounded by the freeway and Lyon Road are being developed into a residential area name Honeywood. The suburb is approximately 27 kilometres (17 mi) from Perth city. Wandi was named after a highly regarded Aboriginal stockman, who drove northwest cattle from Robb Jetty to nearby holding paddocks as well as driving sheep into paddocks around Cockburn Sound. For the first four decades of the twentieth century Wandi worked for Anchorage Butchers, owned by Copley, Atkinson and Negus. For at least some of this time, Wandi lived in the racing quarters of George Atkinson's South Fremantle home, working the many racehorses he owned. Wandi died in 1955 at the age of 76.A rare, and possibly the last, chuditch or western quoll (Dasyurus geoffroii ), an endangered carnivorous marsupial not seen in the Perth area for nearly twenty years, was caught by a rabbit trap in Wandi in March 2009.In the early 2010s, an estate called Honeywood came to the town. It grew pretty fast from 782 in the 2006 census to 2,854 people at the 2016 census. Honeywood Primary School was the first school to open in Wandi and was opened officially in 2018. As of 2021, Honeywood Primary School is the only school in Wandi.

Casuarina is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia and located within the City of Kwinana. Casuarina is one of the Kwinana suburbs named after a ship. Casuarina, under the command of Louis De Freycinet, was a 30-ton cutter used in the French exploration of the WA coast in 1802–03. The suburb name was also chosen because a type of casuarina tree is found in the area. Casuarina Prison is located in the suburb. Opened in June 1991, it is the main maximum-security prison for male prisoners, particularly long-term prisoners, in Western Australia. It replaced the 130-year-old Fremantle Prison as the State's main maximum-security prison. Aside from an 18-hole public golf course, "Marri Park Golf Course", and some nature reserve the balance of the suburb is divided into small lots classified as "special rural". Land owners may build dwellings on their lots but are required to maintain a designated minimum amount of natural vegetation on their lots.

Jandakot Regional Park is a conservation park approximately 20 kilometres (12 mi) south of Perth, Western Australia, located within the Cities of Armadale, Canning, Cockburn, Gosnells and Kwinana as well as the Shire of Serpentine-Jarrahdale. The park, established in 1997 as the Jandakot Botanic Park, covers a non-continuous area of 2,362 hectares (5,840 acres) and is managed by the Cities of Armadale, Cockburn and Kwinana. It stretches from the southern end of Jandakot Airport to south of Casuarina Prison. In Western Australia, regional parks consist of areas of land that have been identified as having outstanding conservation, landscape and recreation values. Jandakot is one of eleven regional parks in the Perth region of Western Australia. The purpose of these regional parks is to serve as urban havens to preserve and restore cultural heritage and valuable ecosystems as well as to encourage sustainable nature-based recreation activities.

Doobarda is a rural south-eastern suburb and locality of Perth, Western Australia, located in the local government area of the City of Armadale, adjacent to the Tonkin Highway.The suburb was created by splitting the south-eastern corner of the suburb of Forrestdale as a new, separate industrial area. Two proposed options for the suburb name existed, Salmeri, after Steve Salmeri, an organiser of the local progress association and sports club, and Doobarda, a Noongar name for the Banksia flower. The name South Forrestdale was also proposed for the new suburb at one point but did not meet Landgate naming requirements and therefore could not be used.

Anketell is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia, located within the City of Kwinana. Anketell was part of early settler Thomas Peel's land grant, used for the 1920s Group Settlement Scheme in Peel Estate. It is named after Peel Estate's surveyor, Richard John Anketell.

Mundijong is an outer suburb of the Western Australian capital city of Perth. Originally named Jarrahdale Junction, it was at the junction of the Rockingham-Jarrahdale line and the government railway line from Perth to Bunbury, which was built in 1893. At the 2016 census, Mundijong had a population of 1,232.A town grew up around the junction, and a timber depot, which included a large planing mill, was constructed. The town was first declared as "Manjedal" in 1893 as it was thought to be the Aboriginal name of the area. In 1897 this was found to be incorrect, and the name was changed to Mundijong. It was officially gazetted as a locality on 1 May 1997.

Cardup is an outer suburb of the Western Australian capital city of Perth, located in the Shire of Serpentine-Jarrahdale to the north of the town Mundijong. In the 2011 census, it had a population of 972 people.

The Shire of Serpentine-Jarrahdale is a local government area in the outer southeastern metropolitan area of Perth, the capital of Western Australia, and has an area of 905 square kilometres (349 sq mi) and a population of 32,173 as at the 2021 Census. Despite being named after two towns in the area, neither Serpentine nor Jarrahdale function as either the Shire's largest settlement (Byford) or the seat of government (Mundijong).

Byford is a suburb on the south-eastern edge of Perth, Western Australia, within the Shire of Serpentine-Jarrahdale. The town has its origins in a township that was gazetted under the name "Beenup" in 1906. In 1920, the name of the township was changed to Byford.
