Pardes Shalom Cemetery

The Keele Valley landfill was the largest landfill in Canada and the third largest in North America during its operation. It was the primary landfill site for the City of Toronto and the regional municipalities of York and Durham from 1983 until 2002, and was owned and operated by the City of Toronto. It was located at the intersection of Keele Street and McNaughton Road in Maple, a community in the northeastern part of the City of Vaughan in Ontario. In 1985, the initial portion of a landfill gas collection system was installed to reduce emissions and associated odours emanating into the nearby community. This has been used to generate electricity, which it has continued to do since the landfill's closing, sufficient to power 20,000 homes. The facility is registered in the National Pollutant Release Inventory, with site identification number 7371. The site emitted about 410 kilotonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent greenhouse gases in 2011.In 2002, the site was identified by the Government of Ontario as an Area of High Aquifer Vulnerability, which would prohibit waste disposal and organic soil conditioning facilities being built or operating there per the Oak Ridges Moraine Conservation Plan. Vaughan's Official Plan Amendment 604 (OPA 604) specified that the site would be redeveloped as an open public space.

Hope is the northernmost community in the city of Vaughan, in Ontario, Canada. The community is mostly rural, with farms scattered along the major thoroughfare. The heart of the settlement is at Keele Street and Kirby Road, with its eastern side stretching as far as Bathurst Street. South of Hope are the communities of Teston and Maple. Recently, due to Vaughan's strong growth, its urban sprawl has had an effect on Hope, and its neighbouring communities as well. In the future urban plan for Maple, the North Maple Park is planned to meet the current heart of the community. Metrolinx has approved for a Kirby GO Station along the Barrie line to be built. A large residential area is also planned.

St. Theresa of Lisieux Catholic High School is a Catholic high school in Richmond Hill, a suburb of the Greater Toronto Area in Canada. The school is named after St. Theresa of Lisieux. The school was founded by the York Catholic District School Board in 2002. The first graduating class was that of 2005. The graduating class of 2006 was the first class to have gone through all four grades at this school. The school team name is The Lions, with the mascot being Roary the Lion. St. Theresa's athletics offers a wide variety of sports and other recreational events held throughout the school year. St. Theresa of Lisieux Catholic High School also offers the AP (Advanced Placement) and pre-AP program for students. Students in this regular program have the opportunity to participate in differentiated courses in English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Sciences.

Vaughan Azzurri is a Canadian semi-professional soccer team based in Vaughan, Ontario, that currently competes in the League1 Ontario men's and women's divisions. The semi-professional team was founded in 2014 by the Vaughan Soccer Club, which is a youth soccer club as part of their High Performance Program.

Maple GO Station is a train and bus station on GO Transit's Barrie line, located in Maple, Ontario, Canada. It is Ontario's oldest operating railway station, with passenger service dating back to 1853.

Pardes Chaim Cemetery is a Jewish cemetery in Vaughan, Ontario, Canada. Opened in 2010, it is owned and operated by Toronto Hebrew Memorial Parks (THMP), a community-owned not-for-profit organization serving the Jewish community of the Greater Toronto Area. Located on Bathurst Street north of Elgin Mills Road, the cemetery was established to provide additional burial capacity for the Toronto region after THMP's earlier Pardes Shalom Cemetery began nearing capacity. Pardes Chaim is the largest Jewish cemetery in the Greater Toronto Area.

Kirby GO Station is a planned GO Transit train station to be built by Metrolinx on Kirby Road in Vaughan, Ontario, as part of GO Transit's Regional Express Rail (RER) expansion program. Approximately 1000 parking spaces will be provided on the east side of the station. A bus loop and a kiss and ride area will also be provided.Although a station in the area had previously been supported by local politicians, it wasn't until 2015 that Metrolinx proposed it, as part of a larger list of possible future station sites. The station was ultimately included on the list of stations to be built in the RER program. In March 2018, a Metrolinx report found that the station would save them C$437 million, with introduction of express service expected to reduce the impact on riders north of Kirby.In December 2018, an Auditor General's report found that Metrolinx improperly approved the station under political pressure from then-Minister of Transportation Steven Del Duca and recommended that the MTO conduct an independent review of the station. The report found that the station would cause ridership loss of 57,000 people in 2031. Because of this, the timing of the station's construction and opening is uncertain.

Maple is a neighbourhood in Vaughan, York Region, Ontario, Canada. It is located northwest of Toronto. Maple was founded as the village of Maple, located at the intersection of Major Mackenzie Drive and Keele Street.

St. Joan of Arc Catholic High School (also referred to as SJA) is a high school in Maple, Ontario, Canada, located in the city of Vaughan. It is administered by the York Catholic District School Board. Its student population is primarily composed of residents of Maple and other parts of northeastern Vaughan.

Shift is a large outdoor sculpture by American artist Richard Serra, located in King City, Ontario, Canada about 30 kilometers north of Toronto. The work was commissioned in 1970 by art collector Roger Davidson and installed on his family property. Shift consists of six large concrete forms, each 20 centimetres thick and 1.5 metres high, zigzagging over the northwest portion of the 4.03 hectares (40,300 m2) property's rolling countryside. In 1990 the Township of King voted to designate Shift and the surrounding land as a protected cultural landscape under the Ontario Heritage Act. The property is now owned by a Toronto-based developer who announced in 2010 that they appeal the decision of the Ontario Conservation Review board with plans to develop the property for housing, necessitating the removal of Shift. In 2013 the Township of King voted to prepare a bylaw to designate Shift as protected under the Ontario Heritage Act, preventing its destruction or alteration.

Rutherford GO Station is a train and bus station in the GO Transit network located in Vaughan, Ontario, Canada. It is a stop on the Barrie line train service. This station was opened in January 2001 to accommodate the growing ridership on the line. It is currently going through a redevelopment project which is expected to be completed in 2023.
