Villa Fraccaroli, also called The Castle of Spirits, is a 19th-century villa in the town of Piovene Rocchette in the province of Vicenza, in the Veneto region of northern Italy. It was initially commissioned by the Fraccaroli family for Paolina Carlotta Fraccaroli and her husband Francesco Dalla Negra who were landowners in the region. Its history is connected with the nearby Renaissance-era Villa Verlato. Ownership of the property has changed hands multiple times with no significant efforts to restore or inhabit it. The villa is currently abandoned and privately owned. Villa Fraccaroli is associated with stories related to the black magic practices of the nobleman Francesco Dalla Negra, and a tragic accident which occurred during its construction.

Palazzo Porto Colleoni Thiene

The Palazzo Porto Colleoni Thiene, also called a Villa or Castello, is a prominent palace structure in the town center of Thiene. The castle has two lateral battlement or tower-like corners, with merlonated roof edges. It was completed by 1476 in the late-gothic style of land palaces in the Veneto, including the tall columns and ogival windows on the piano nobile. The initial architect was Domenico da Venezia, but the work was completed by Giovanni da Porta. The interior is frescoed by Giovanni Antonio Fasolo and Giovanni Battista Zelotti.

Battle of La Motta (1513)

The Battle of La Motta, also known as the Battle of Schio, Battle of Vicenza or Battle of Creazzo, took place at Schio, in the Italian region of Veneto, Republic of Venice, on 7 October 1513, between the forces of the Republic of Venice and a combined force of Spain and the Holy Roman Empire, and was a significant battle of the War of the League of Cambrai. A Venetian army under Bartolomeo d'Alviano was decisively defeated by the Spanish/Imperial army commanded by Ramón de Cardona and Fernando d'Ávalos.

Schio massacre

The Schio massacre was a mass prisoner killing carried out by former Italian partisans of the Garibaldi Brigade and officers of the Auxiliary Partisan Police in the city jail of Schio on the night of 6–7 July 1945. Of the 54 people who were killed, only 27 of them were fascist supporters or had collaborated with the Germans. The massacre was investigated by the Allies and two trials with convictions followed.
