Chasewater Railway

Chasewater Heaths is a heritage railway station on the Chasewater Railway in Burntwood, Staffordshire. It has station building facilities, including a cafe; and a recently rebuilt signal box. To the west is Norton Lakeside Halt and to the east is the terminus, Chasetown (Church Street). The station was constructed in 2000 as part of the extension of the line, that was undertaken following the construction of the M6 Toll Motorway.

Chasetown (Church Street) is a heritage railway station on the Chasewater Railway. It is the north-eastern terminus of the line and consists of a single platform with a run-round loop. The station was constructed in 2000 as part of the extension of the line, that was undertaken following the construction of the M6 Toll Motorway. There are no station buildings. The station is adjacent to Burntwood Rugby Club, and when the station was first built it was directly accessible from Chasetown, via the Rugby Club. Since the construction of phase 3 of the Burntwood Bypass in 2004, direct access to Chasetown is now via a footbridge. Chasewater Heaths railway station is just to the north, indeed to get to Chasetown by road one has to go past Chasewater Heaths.

Norton Lakeside Halt railway station is a heritage railway station on the Chasewater Railway in Staffordshire. It is a simple halt, consisting of a single platform, with no station building and no loops or sidings. It is situated in Chasewater Country Park. To the west is Brownhills West railway station and to the east is Chasewater Heaths railway station.

Erasmus Darwin Academy (previously Chasetown High School then Chasetown Specialist Sports College) is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form with academy status located in the Chasetown area of Burntwood in Staffordshire, England.

Chasewater is a reservoir located in the parish of Burntwood and the district of Lichfield in Staffordshire, England. Originally known as Norton Pool and Cannock Chase Reservoir, it was created as a canal feeder reservoir in 1797. The reservoir was created to directly supply the Wyrley and Essington Canal and maintain levels in the 160-mile (260 km) Birmingham Canal Network. During a period of great industrial growth in the Black Country region the maintenance of water levels in canal infrastructure was essential and Chasewater was in great demand. As canals became less essential for transport of goods during the mid-20th century, the reservoir diversified and became a popular public amenity with activities such as water-skiing, sailing, wakeboarding and cycling. Chasewater is the third largest reservoir by volume in the county of Staffordshire and the largest canal feeder reservoir in the West Midlands.

Chasewater Watersports Centre is located within the surroundings of Chasewater Country Park and use Chasewater reservoir for watersports. The chasewater ski club offer activities such as Water skiing, Wakeboarding, Slalom skiing and Kneeboarding all year round.

Brownhills West railway station is a heritage railway station on the Chasewater Railway in Staffordshire. It is the western terminus of the Chasewater Railway. The present facilities were constructed in the early 2000s after the original station, at a different location, stood in the way of the M6 Toll motorway.Development of the railway had been inhibited by the M6 plans since 1980. The cost of the new facilities at Brownhills West were met with £500,000 from the motorway developers, £412,000 from the European Union mainly for the museum building, and a smaller amount from Lichfield District Council. The new route of the railway provided a good view of a new lake and park, another spinoff of the M6 development. The lake had previously been a disused clay pit used to dump coal-mining waste.The station buildings house Chasewater Railway Museum.

It covers an area of 92 square miles (23,000 hectares), and is focused around the town of Cannock in South Staffordshire.

Little Norton is an area of Norton Canes, Cannock Chase, Staffordshire, England. The area is located near Brownhills West and is also next to Chasewater Railway. The area is a residential area of Norton Canes. It is located next to the Norton Services and the M6 Toll Motorway. Bus No. 3 runs through the area between Norton Canes and Brownhills West.

Brownhills West is a suburban village of Brownhills in the Walsall Metropolitan Borough and forms part of the border of the West Midlands and Staffordshire. It is an unparished area of Brownhills, lying on the border with Cannock and Burntwood respectively, it is still part of the Walsall borough. It lies next to the suburbs of Newtown, Ogley Hay and Shire Oak of Brownhills. The town is 13 miles Northwest of Birmingham City Centre. Brownhills West homes a council estate known locally as “The West”. Crime in Brownhills West has been an issue over the years with antisocial behaviour & drug offences being rife within the area. It is located on the south bank of Chasewater reservoir, and Brownhills West railway station is the southern terminus of the Chasewater Railway.The main local transport is provided by Bus with routes to Cannock, Walsall & Birmingham being major routes of the area.

Chase Terrace is an area in the town of Burntwood in Staffordshire, England. Chase Terrace began as a mining village in the 1860s with mines at the south side of Cannock Road. By 1884 Chase Terrace had gained a population of nearly 2,000. By 1959 all of the mines in the village had closed, by 1971 the population doubled as many people from Birmingham and the Black Country moved to Burntwood. Sankeys Corner became the commercial centre of Chase Terrace with an industrial estate, shopping centre and a market by 1970. A library and parish council were added by 1987. The area is the location of Chase Terrace Academy (formerly Chase Terrace High School).

Norton Canes High School is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form located in Norton Canes in the English county of Staffordshire.It is a community school administered by Staffordshire County Council. The school also specialises in mathematics and computing.Norton Canes High School offers GCSEs and BTECs as programmes of study for pupils, while students in the sixth form have the option to study from a range of A-levels, Cambridge Nationals and further BTECs.
