Wadsworth is a village in Lake County, Illinois, United States. Per the 2020 census, the population was 3,517. It is named after E. S. Wadsworth, who was a major stockholder for the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad, which passes through the village.

Great Wolf Lodge is a resort and indoor waterpark of 30 acres (12 ha) located in Gurnee, Illinois near Six Flags Great America and Gurnee Mills. It was originally opened as "KeyLime Cove" and was listed as the "Official Resort of Six Flags Great America". The resort is located about an hour away from Chicago and less than an hour from Milwaukee.

Newport Township is a township in Lake County, Illinois, USA. As of the 2010 census, its population was 6,770. It includes the villages of Wadsworth and Old Mill Creek, as well as smaller portions of the villages of Antioch, Beach Park, Lake Villa, and a corner of the city of Waukegan. The unincorporated communities of Millburn and Russell are also within the township.

Serpent Safari was a reptile zoo located inside the Gurnee Mills Mall in Gurnee, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. The zoo advertised itself as "America's Finest Reptile Zoo". The zoo housed some rare specimens, including the world's heaviest snake (over 375 lbs. as of February 2010), an albino alligator, and an alligator snapping turtle estimated at a 150 years old. A gift shop offered pets, a photo area where guests could get their photos taken with a large python or boa, and a reptile zoo with guided tours. A female Burmese Python named "Baby" that lived 27 years at the Serpent Safari was confirmed by Guinness World Records as the heaviest living snake in captivity, weighing 183 kilograms (403 lb). After death, her actual length was determined to be 5.74 m (18 ft 10 in) which is the maximum length record for this species so far.

Gurnee Mills is a shopping mall and outlet mall in Gurnee, Illinois, within the Chicago metropolitan area and it is one of the tourist destinations in Chicago, Illinois. Like the nearby Six Flags Great America and Great Wolf Lodge, the mall's placement in Gurnee is intended to bring customers from both Chicago and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. With 1,936,699 square feet (179,925 m2) of gross leasable area and ten major anchor stores in its Z-shaped single-story building, it is the third largest mall in Illinois, and the largest of the four enclosed shopping centers in Lake County. Owned and operated by the Simon Property Group, it was an early part of the "Landmark Mills" chain of shopping malls built by the Mills Corporation. The mall features Macy's, Kohl's, Marshalls, Value City Furniture, Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World, Off Broadway Shoe Warehouse, Bed Bath & Beyond, Forever 21, H&M, Dick's Sporting Goods, Marcus Theatres, Rainforest Cafe, Top Shelf Ice Arena, The RoomPlace, Lee Wrangler Clearance Center, Burlington Coat Factory, Rink Side, Buy Buy Baby and Floor & Decor as its anchor tenants. Once marketed as the "world's largest outlet mall", Gurnee Mills features a variety of manufacturer's outlets in addition to the more typical mall retailers, and like other nearby outlet malls it is a popular attraction for tourists visiting the Chicago area, with thousands of tour buses making stops at the mall each year. The mall draws more than 20 million visitors each year.

Shockwave (occasionally stylized as ShockWave or Shock Wave) was a roller coaster manufactured by Arrow Dynamics at Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, Illinois. Standing 170 feet (52 m) tall and reaching speeds of 65 miles per hour (105 km/h), it opened in 1988 as the world's tallest and fastest looping roller coaster with a record-breaking seven inversions: three vertical loops, a boomerang (also known as a batwing), and two regular corkscrews. Shockwave was closed in 2002 and has been dismantled.

The Mother Rudd House is the oldest building in Warren Township and one of the oldest in both Lake County and Illinois. Completed in 1843, the building serves as the home for the Warren Township Historical Society.

Six Flags Great America is an amusement park located in Gurnee, Illinois, within the northern Chicago metropolitan area. Originally opened in 1976 by the Marriott Corporation as Marriott's Great America, Six Flags has owned and operated the park since 1984. It features four themed areas and fifteen roller coasters, as well as a 20-acre (81,000 m2) water park called Hurricane Harbor Chicago. Over 3 million guests visited Six Flags Great America in 2017, ranking it among the top 20 amusement parks in North America for attendance.

Mardi Gras Hangover was a fire ball attraction located at Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, Illinois, United States. Located in the Mardi Gras section, the attraction was themed on the Mardi Gras celebration. Manufactured by Larson International, the ride opened on May 22, 2018 as the tallest fire ball amusement ride in the world at a height of 100 feet (30 m) tall. Billed by Six Flags Great America as a "loop roller coaster” and the park's sixteenth coaster, the name was called inaccurate by experts and critics as the ride lacked reliance on the force of gravity, relying more on motorized wheels. The ride reached speeds of up to 30 miles per hour (48 km/h) with its seating being described as "face-off."

Warren Township is a township in Lake County, Illinois, USA. As of the 2010 census, its population was 64,841. The cities of Gurnee, Park City, and Grayslake lie within its borders. The township was established in 1850 by settlers who came from the town of Warren, New York. Both were named in honor of Major General Joseph Warren, killed at the Battle of Bunker Hill.

Space Shuttle America (also known as Space Shuttle America - The Next Century) was a motion simulator ride at the Six Flags Great America theme park in Gurnee, Illinois, that opened in 1994. The ride's main feature was a full-scale replica of an American Space Shuttle orbiter. It closed permanently after the 2007 season and was removed on December 5, 2009.

Sky Trek Tower is a 285-foot (87 m) gyro tower located at Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, Illinois, United States. Manufactured by Intamin, the attraction is the tallest free-standing structure in Lake County, Illinois. Opening on June 28, 1977, the ride was part of an expansion program by the Marriott Corporation following the opening of their Great America parks the year prior. From 2019 to 2023, the ride was closed to the public.
