Barkarby station

Svea Air Corps (Swedish: Svea flygkår), also F 8 Barkarby, or simply F 8, is a former Swedish Air Force air corps wing with the main base located in Barkarby just north of the capital Stockholm on the east coast.

Linjeflyg Flight 618 was a crash of a Vickers 838 Viscount during approach to Stockholm Bromma Airport at 09:05 on 15 January 1977. All twenty-two people on board the aircraft perished when it hit ground at Kälvesta in Stockholm, Sweden. The domestic service from Malmö via Kristianstad, Växjö and Jönköping was operated by Skyline on behalf of Linjeflyg as part of the latter's domestic scheduled services. The accident was caused by atmospheric icing on the horizontal stabilizer. Low power on two of the engines had caused reduced function of the ice protection system, causing a buildup of ice. The icing caused the loss of pitch control and the aircraft entered a steep dive. Among the deceased was table tennis player Hans Alsér.

Hjulsta metro station is a station on the blue line of the Stockholm metro, located in Hjulsta, northern Stockholm. The station was opened on 31 August 1975 as the northern terminus of the first stretch of the Blue Line from T-Centralen. The trains were then running via Hallonbergen and Rinkeby.

Barkarby is a district of Järfälla Municipality, Stockholm County, Sweden and part of the contiguously built-up Stockholm urban area. Barkarby has a station of the Stockholm commuter rail network.

Kälvesta is a suburban district in the Hässelby-Vällingby borough in western Stockholm. Most of Kälvesta was built during the late 1960s and the 1970s. Kälvesta has two middle schools (Sörgårdsskolan and Björnbodaskolan). The two buses 119 and 116 pass through Kälvesta on their way to either Spånga Station or Vällingby Centrum. In 1977 Linjeflyg Flight 618 crashed in the area killing all 22 aboard, including table tennis player Hans Alsér.

Barkarby Airport (IATA: N/A, ICAO: ESKB) was a disbanded Swedish Air Force base, near Akalla north of Stockholm used for general aviation. Barkarby Airport was one of Sweden’s oldest active airports until it was closed in 2010. A large shopping complex is still situated close to – and partly on – the airfield. Current plans are to construct houses, apartments and offices on large parts of the airfield. December 2008 was due to be the last commercial flight date, after which houses were due to be built. Due to legal complexities about the cancellation of the contract, however, the airport was open for another two years. The airport was finally closed in June 2010. Barkarby airport was the location used to photograph the 1976 cover of the ABBA album, Arrival. The members of the Swedish group are seen sitting in a helicopter on the ground at Barkarby, and on the reverse the helicopter is seen arriving.

Jakobsberg is a suburban area (pop. 24,046) within Stockholm urban area, and the seat of Järfälla Municipality, Stockholm County in Sweden.Jakobsberg, Järfälla's commercial and administrative centre, grew up around the railway. In the 1940s, blocks of flats were built and the municipal council moved its offices here. Jakobsberg gradually became the centre of the municipality and now has a population of 24,046. The Jakobsberg Centre includes shops, offices, car parks and apartments, as well as a modern library, an art gallery, an exhibition hall and a cinema. There are a number of ancient monuments and buildings of historic interest in the area. Jakobsbergs Gård - a 17th-century manor-house - is now a community based centre that hosts a variety of events such as weddings, business meetings, parties etc., organized by public and private organizations and people. However, it is not located in the municipality of Jakobsberg, but rather in a southern suburb of Stockholm known as Bredäng, which is about 30 kilometers south of the location being discussed in this article. Säby Gård, from the 1650s, houses a Steiner Waldorf nursery school and a riding school. Görväln House on the shore of Lake Mälaren was built in the 1660s. Jakobsberg also has one of the busiest stations on the Stockholm commuter rail network, situated on the Bålsta line.

Hjulsta, a suburb of Stockholm known for its working-class roots, is often associated with Tensta but boasts its own subway station. This station, the terminal point of the blue line, has been operational since 1975. The name ‘Hjulsta’ for the contemporary urban area is derived from an ancient village that existed in the vicinity since at least the 1480s.The artwork adorning the station is the collective effort of various artists. This includes ‘Sjöfåglar’ by Christina Rundqvist-Andersson, ‘Sista skörden i norra Botkyrka’ by Olle Magnusson, and ‘Landbyska verken vid Engelbrektsplan år 1890’ by Ruth Rydfeldt.

Spånga is a community and parish in the borough of Spånga-Tensta in Stockholm County, Sweden.

Spånga-Tensta is a borough (stadsdelsområde) located in Västerort in the western part of Stockholm, Sweden. The districts that make up the borough are Bromsten, Flysta, Lunda, Solhem, Sundby and Tensta. A large portion of Järvafältet is also located in Spånga-Tensta as well as in the districts of Akalla and Husby in neighboring Rinkeby-Kista borough.The borough includes of the community of Spånga. The population as of 2004 is 34,448 on an area of 12.85 km2, which gives a density of 2,680.78/km2.

Tensta is a district in Spånga-Tensta borough, Stockholm, Sweden. There are about 6,000 apartments in Tensta and a population of 18,637 as of December 31, 2022.Modern Tensta, with its Plattenbau-style concrete apartment buildings, was constructed in the 1960s. Like nearby Rinkeby and Hjulsta, it was part of the Million Programme, and became known nationwide in the late 1960s. This was partially because many people moved in when the area was still a construction site, and it took years before the metro station opened (in 1975). In the center of Tensta, there is a small grocery market. The art gallery Tensta Konsthall is also situated close to the centre and has gained a name in Sweden and abroad. The government has decided to award to 200 million kronor ($30 million) in performance based subsidies to boost fifteen of Sweden’s suburbs grappling with social exclusion. Tensta is one of the suburbs that have chosen to receive this cash injection. The districts will receive the cash injection at the end of 2013 at the earliest, after the results from the past year have been evaluated. The subsidy - which is performance based - will be awarded for three criteria: how the areas deal with education, employment, and social benefits.In the 2011-13 period, about 53% of the population originated outside the EU and the Nordic countries.In its December 2015 report, Police in Sweden placed the district in the most severe category of urban areas with high crime rates.
