St. Mary's High School (St. Louis)

Dutchtown is a neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri. It is called "Dutch" from Deutsch, i.e., "German", as it was the southern center of German-American settlement in St. Louis in the early 19th century. It was the original site of Concordia Seminary (before it relocated to Clayton, Missouri), Concordia Publishing House, Lutheran Hospital, and other German community organizations. The German Cultural Society still has its headquarters there. St Anthony of Padua Catholic Church towers over the neighborhood and is a symbol of the neighborhood. While the influence of the German settlers remains, Dutchtown rapidly began to diversify in the 1990s. The majority of Dutchtown residents today are Black, and significant numbers of Latinos, Asians, and other immigrants call the neighborhood home as well. Dutchtown is home to long-standing, locally famous purveyors of sweets: the South Grand location of locally famous chain Ted Drewes frozen custard stand, as well as Merb's Candies and Dad's Cookies. More recently, a number of resale shops and boutiques have clustered in the Downtown Dutchtown area along Meramec Street between South Grand Boulevard and Compton Avenue. The 17-acre Marquette Park sits in the center of the neighborhood and features a free public swimming pool, recreation center, playground, tennis courts, a renovated field house, and plenty of green space. Other parks in Dutchtown include Amberg Park at the west end of the neighborhood, and Laclede Park and Minnie Wood Memorial Square to the east.

St. Ferdinand Township is a township in St. Louis County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. Its population was 34,032 as of the 2010 census. St. Ferdinand Township is named after St Ferdinand, the former name of Florissant, Missouri.

Holly Hills is a neighborhood in South St. Louis, Missouri, near the intersection of I-55 and Loughborough Avenue. The neighborhood is defined by Bates and Walsh on the Northeast, Holly Hills on the Southwest, Morganford Street on the Northwest, and Grand Boulevard on the Southeast. It is surrounded by Carondelet Park and the Boulevard Heights, Bevo Mill, Dutchtown and Carondelet neighborhoods.

Mount Pleasant is a neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri. The neighborhood's boundaries are defined by Compton Avenue on the west, the Mississippi River on the east, Meramec Street on the north, and Eichelberger Street on the south. The Mount Pleasant neighborhood is home to several landmarks, most notably St. Anthony of Padua Church and Mount Pleasant Park. Mount Pleasant Park is a major attraction to the neighborhood. It features a unique outdoor roller hockey rink in the southwest corner in addition to various standard playground equipment. Maryville University was founded in the neighborhood in 1872 and remained until 1961 when it moved to Town and Country. Its landmark Duchesne Hall towered over the neighborhood until being torn down in 1973 after a fire and being replaced by the Maryville Gardens Post Office station and Maryville Gardens apartment complex.

St. John the Baptist High School was a parochial, Catholic high school in St. Louis, Missouri. It was located in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Saint Louis. The school opened in 1922 as a two-year, all male business school. By 1930, the high school became a co-ed, four-year, accredited high school. The high school building and program expanded several times. Eight more classrooms were added in 1934, and in 1938, the gym, cafeteria, and four more classrooms were added. In 1946, another wing was added to the original high school building, including the library and additional classrooms. The high school closed in May 2008, and in fall 2009, the grade school program with pre-kindergarten through 8 moved to the former high school building. The grade school later closed in May 2014. The building currently sits empty, but the Catholic Charities Office of the Archdiocese of St. Louis plans to move into the former high school building after some renovation.

Carondelet is a neighborhood in the extreme southeastern part of St. Louis, Missouri. It was incorporated as an independent city in 1851 and was annexed by the City of St. Louis in 1870. The neighborhood has a population of 9,960 people, as of the 2000 Census,

The Home of the Friendless is a building in St. Louis, Missouri, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. An elder care facility, it is at 4431 South Broadway. The Home of the Friendless was described in 1882 as an "institution for friendless old ladies", on what was then Carondelet Road. An 1869 court case addressed whether it could be taxed. The Missouri Advisory Council on Historic Preservation considered it for National Register listing in 2015.

Quinn Chapel AME Church is a historic African Methodist Episcopal Church building located at 227 Bowen Street in the Carondelet section of St. Louis, Missouri, in the United States. Built in 1869 as the North Public Market, it was acquired by the church in 1880. On October 16, 1974, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places. Its current pastor is Rev. Lori K. Beason.

Bevo Mill is a neighborhood located in south St. Louis, Missouri.

Carondelet Park, established in 1875, is the third largest park in the city of St. Louis, Missouri. The park contains nearly 180 acres (0.73 km2) and is located in the southeastern portion of the city, just west of Interstate 55, and is accessible at the Loughborough Avenue exit. Loughborough Avenue is the park's southern boundary; its northern boundary is Holly Hills Boulevard. The park takes its name from Carondelet, St. Louis. The Carondelet, Holly Hills, Boulevard Heights, and Bevo Mill neighborhoods surround the park, and the park is a focal point for the community.Among other features, the park contains two lakes that are stocked for fishing, tennis courts, softball, baseball, and soccer fields. The park also has playgrounds, a recycling center (with mulch and compost), picnic areas, and a 1.6-mile (2.6 km) bicycle path. The Alexander Lyle house, a historic home dated around 1840, is located on the property.A community recreation center is on the eastern edge of the park adjacent to I-55.According to resident historian Steven Strohmeyer, the park is home to the White Wall, a large concrete wall, white in color, where a local underground fight club met in the early 1980s.

Peter Mathews Memorial Skate Garden is St. Louis' first legal outdoor public skate park.

Sugarloaf Mound is the sole remaining Mississippian culture platform mound in St. Louis, Missouri, a city commonly referred to in its earlier years as "Mound City" for its approximately 40 Native American earthen structures.Sugarloaf Mound is the last remaining of the mounds built within present-day St. Louis by a Native American culture that thrived in the area from A.D. 600-1300. It is the oldest human-made structure in the city of St. Louis.
