Madurai Medical College is a medical school attached to the Government Rajaji Hospital in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India. The hospital provides tertiary care to more than twenty million people in the southern part of Tamil Nadu. The hospital was established in 1842 and became a teaching hospital in 1954. Daniel Poor Memorial Library often abbreviated as DPM Library is a century old college central library of the American College, Madurai, Tamil Nadu in India that officially began its functions on June 28, 1915.

Kovalanpottal is a place located in Palanganatham near Madakulam in Madurai district, Tamil Nadu, India. As per Tamil epic Silappatikaram, Kovalan is believed to be beheaded here by the orders of Pandyan king Neduncheziyan. It is one of the protected monuments in Tamil Nadu by the Archaeological Survey of India.

Goripalayam Mosque is a large mosque in Goripalayam (part of Madurai City) containing two graves (tombs) of Sultans of Yemen namely Khaja Syed Sultan Alauddin Badusha Razi and Khaja Syed Sulthan Shamsuddin of the Madurai Sultanate. There is also one invisible grave of Khaja Syed Sultan Habibuddin Razi who is also known as Ghaibi Sulthan who came to India to spread Islam. Its dome is 70 feet (21 m) in diameter and 20 feet (6.1 m) in height and made of a single block of stone which was brought from the Azhaga Hills. It is said that it was built by Thirumalai Nayak for his Muslim subjects.
