The Higher Regional Court of Karlsruhe (German: Oberlandesgericht Karlsruhe; abbreviated: OLG Karlsruhe) is, alongside the Higher Regional Court of Stuttgart, one of the two Higher Regional Courts of Baden-Württemberg, Germany.

The Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences (or short "Hochschule Karlsruhe"; formerly "FH Karlsruhe" ) is a university of applied sciences in Karlsruhe. It is the largest university of applied sciences in the state of Baden-Württemberg, offering both academic and professional higher education study programmes in engineering sciences, natural sciences, and business. Given the concentration of research centers and universities in and around Karlsruhe, the university of technology offers a wide range of courses on campus respected in the industry and academia. It is ranked among the top universities of applied sciences or Fachhochschule in Germany with especially strong mechanical, electrical engineering, IT and Engineering with Business Studies programs.

With its approximately 9,300 inhabitants the Nordstadt is the youngest of the 27 boroughs of Karlsruhe. It was founded on 1 January 1996.

The Karlsruhe Municipal Hospital (German: Städtisches Klinikum Karlsruhe) is a hospital in Karlsruhe, Germany and the largest hospital in the middle upper rhine region. It is located in the Nordweststadt borough and has 1,591 beds. Of a total of 4,756 employees, 664 are physicians. In 2022, 191,585 people received outpatient care and 51,435 people received inpatient care. The Karlsruhe Municipal Hospital is a medical school hospital of the University Medical Center Freiburg.

Karlsruhe American High School (KAHS) was an American DoDDS school in Paul Revere Village, a U.S. military housing area in Karlsruhe Germany. The school opened in fall 1958 with 200 students and 25 graduating seniors. Clyde R. Born was the first principal. Karlsruhe American High School was closed in June 1995 with 100 students and 15 graduating seniors. After 1995, the school buildings were initially used by the senior classes of the German high school in nearby Neureut while their own buildings were being renovated. The school has been renamed to Heisenberg-Gymnasium.

The Gymnasium illustre was a school and publishing house in Durlach and is now the Bismarck Gymnasium Karlsruhe.

Karlshochschule International University is a state approved non-profit private foundation university based in Karlsruhe. It focuses with an inter- and transdisciplinary approach on critical management studies, cultural studies and social and political sciences. The Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design (HfG) is a state art college founded in 1992 in Karlsruhe. It focuses on media art, communication design , product design , exhibition design and scenography, art research and media philosophy with a strong interdisciplinarity between the departments. The university has about 400 students.

The ZKM | Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe (until March 2016: ZKM Center for Art and Media Technology), a cultural institution, was founded in 1989. and since 1997 is located in a listed industrial building in Karlsruhe, Germany, a former munitions factory. The ZKM (German: Zentrum für Kunst und Medien) organizes special exhibitions and thematic events, conducts research and produces works on the effects of media, digitization, and globalization, and offers public as well as individualized communications and educational programs. The ZKM houses under one roof exhibition spaces, the research platform Hertz Lab, a library and a media library, thus combining research and production, exhibitions and events, archive and collection. The ZKM operates at the interface of art and science, and addresses new knowledge in the area of new technologies to develop it further. Since the death of founding director Heinrich Klotz (1935–1999), the ZKM has been directed by Peter Weibel, later together with Christiane Riedel. Besides the ZKM, the former munitions factory also houses the associated Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design, and the Städtische Galerie Karlsruhe [Municipal Art Gallery of Karlsruhe].

The Public Prosecutor General at the Federal Court of Justice (German: Generalbundesanwalt or Generalbundesanwältin beim Bundesgerichtshof (GBA), lit.: "General Federal Attorney at the Federal Court of Justice") is the federal prosecutor of Germany, representing the federal government at the Bundesgerichtshof, the federal court of justice. The office of the Public Prosecutor General is located in Karlsruhe. Besides its role in appellate cases, the Public Prosecutor General has primary jurisdiction in cases of crimes against the state (in particular terrorism, espionage and treason), and offences under the Völkerstrafgesetzbuch (genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes). The Public Prosecutor General also represents Germany in certain civil and administrative cases. The Federal Minister of Justice proposes the Public Prosecutor General with the approval of the Bundesrat to the President of Germany for appointment. The Public Prosecutor General is considered a political official. He is supposed to share the criminal and security policy views and objectives of the respective acting federal government and can be retired without further reasons at any time. He is subject to the supervision of the Federal Minister of Justice. In 1977, then-Public Prosecutor General Siegfried Buback was assassinated by an extremist left-wing group, the Red Army Faction.
