Fradley and Streethay

Fradley is a village in the Lichfield District, in the county of Staffordshire, England. It is in the civil parish of Fradley and Streethay whose population at the 2011 census was 3,753.

Alrewas and Fradley, was a large civil parish in the Lichfield district of Staffordshire, England. The parish included the villages of Alrewas, Fradley and Orgreave, and in 2001 had a population of 4,686. On 1 April 2009 it was divided into the two new parishes of Alrewas and Fradley.

All Saints Church, Alrewas is a parish church in the village of Alrewas, Staffordshire in the United Kingdom. The church is situated in the north west of the village on the north side of the Trent & Mersey Canal. The church is a Grade I Listed Building. A church has stood on the current site since the 10th century. The current building was mainly built during the 13th, 14th, 16th and 19th centuries.

Royal Air Force Station Lichfield also known as Fradley Aerodrome, was an operational training station from 1940 until 1958. It was situated in Fradley, 2 miles (3.2 km) north east of Lichfield, Staffordshire, England. The airfield was the busiest airfield in Staffordshire during World War II. The airfield supported its own units as well as providing safe haven for many more. It was a control point for all aviation traffic that passed through the Birmingham area during the war and saw more aircraft movements than any other Staffordshire airfield.

The River Swarbourn is a minor tributary of the River Trent that flows for 10 miles (16 km) in Staffordshire, England.

Alrewas railway station was a station on the South Staffordshire Railway, which operated in the West Midlands county of Staffordshire, in England. The station was located next to a level crossing, although the road, now the A513, currently crosses over the still extant line on a bridge in Alrewas.

Wychnor Hall (or Wychnor Park, ) is Grade II Listed early 18th-century country house near Burton on Trent, Staffordshire, formerly owned by the Levett Family. The hall has been converted to a Country Club.

Whitemoor Haye (grid reference SK1813) is a mainly agricultural area in the floodplain of the River Tame, near Alrewas in Staffordshire, England. It is very popular with birdwatchers, as several rare species are either resident or seasonal visitors, notably the corn bunting. The remains of several woolly rhinoceroses were recovered from a quarry here in 2002.There is an airfield, for light aircraft such as microlights.

It lies in the Trent Valley some 6+1⁄2 miles (10.5 km) north-east of the city of Lichfield, the A513 road runs to the south of the hamlet. Historically Orgreave was a township of Alrewas and included the hamlet of Overley which is located between them at grid reference SK160156. Orgreave remains in the civil parish of Alrewas which, in turn, forms part of Lichfield District; until 2009 it was in the parish of Alrewas and Fradley.Orgreave Hall, formerly a seat of the Viscounts Anson, is a private home.

Fradley Junction (grid reference SK140139) is a canal junction between Fradley and Alrewas near Lichfield, Staffordshire, England and the point at which the Coventry Canal joins the Trent and Mersey Canal. It opened in 1790, and several of the buildings around it, including The Swan public house, are grade II listed structures.

Wychnor (or Wichnor, ) is a village and civil parish in Staffordshire, England, situated in the East Staffordshire local government district adjoining Alrewas and Barton-under-Needwood. It is situated on the A38, formerly the Roman road Ryknild Street, and contains the hamlet of Wychnor Bridges where the A38 crosses the River Trent. The Trent and Mersey Canal passes through the parish. There is a railway junction nearby; Wychnor Junction where the South Staffordshire Line joins the Cross Country Route. Its earliest spelling was Hwiccenofre. 'Ofre' was the Anglo-Saxon word for "edge or bank". Hwicce was a province comprising Gloucestershire, Worcestershire and a part of Warwickshire and the people were called Hwiccas or Hwicii. It is thought that some of these people came to settle in Wychnor and so gave their name to the place they settled in. In the Doomsday Book, it is referred to as "Wicenore".The parish also contains Wychnor Park, an 18th-century country house, formerly owned by the Levett Family. In the 2001 census the parish had a population of 70.
