Main Building of the University of Hong Kong

The University of Hong Kong (HKU) is an English-language public research university in Hong Kong. Founded in 1911, its origins trace back to the Hong Kong College of Medicine for Chinese, which was founded in 1887. It is the oldest tertiary institution in Hong Kong. HKU was also the first university established by the British in East Asia. As of October 2021, HKU ranks 22nd internationally and third in Asia by QS, and 30th internationally and fourth in Asia by Times Higher Education. It has been ranked as the most international university in the world as well as one of the most prestigious universities in Asia. Today, HKU has ten academic faculties with English as the main language of instruction. The University of Hong Kong was also the first team in the world to successfully isolate the coronavirus SARS-CoV, the causative agent of SARS.

Hung Hing Ying Building (Chinese: 孔慶熒樓) is a building of the University of Hong Kong. It is located on the main campus on Bonham Road, opposite to the Main Building of the university. It was built in the architectural style of neoclassical and Edwardian Baroque. The building is two storeys high. It was built in 1919 and was initially named the Union Building. This building has been a declared monument since 1995. Funds for the construction of the building were financed by Professor C. A. Middleton Smith, Sir Paul Chater, Acting Vice Chancellor Gregory Paul Jordan and many others. It was opened in February 1919 by Governor Sir Edward Stubbs. The building was originally used and designed to accommodate the Students' Union. It was then used for administrative purposes after the Second World War. An east wing was constructed in 1962, and the building was converted to the Senior Common Room for the university's academic and senior administrative staff in 1974. In 1986, in appreciation of the donations made by Hung Hing Ying towards the university, the building was renamed to Hung Hing Ying Building. The building was used by the Department of Music from 1996 till 2013, when it was relocated to the Run Run Shaw Tower of the Centennial Campus.

St. Stephen's Church College (Chinese: 聖士提反堂中學) is a secondary school attached to the Anglican St Stephen's Church, Hong Kong, located between Bonham Road and Pok Fu Lam Road in Sai Ying Pun. The school's total enrollment in the academic year 2009-2010 was approximately 1,000, in 24 classes of two streams (arts and science), across six forms/grades.

St. Paul's College (SPC; Chinese: 聖保羅書院) is an Anglican day school for boys and girls in Hong Kong. It was established in 1851, the oldest continuously-operated school in Hong Kong. The college first opened in 1851 with only one tutor and nine pupils. Today, it has more than 1,200 pupils in the secondary section and nearly 600 pupils in the primary section.St. Paul's comprises an all-boys primary school section (Primary 1–6) and secondary section (Forms 1–6). The secondary school campus is situated in the Mid-Levels area, part of Hong Kong Island's Western District, whilst the primary school operates in a dedicated campus at Pok Fu Lam in the Island's Southern District. The College Council enjoys a special status in Hong Kong, in that it is a statutory body incorporated by a local ordinance, the St. Paul's College Council Incorporation Ordinance (Cap 1102, Laws of Hong Kong). The aim of the college is to "provide a liberal education to Chinese youths in the English language upon Christian principles."

The University Museum and Art Gallery (UMAG) is located at 90 Bonham Road, next to the University of Hong Kong's East Gate entrance. Its exhibition galleries occupy the Fung Ping Shan Building as well as the first floor of the TT Tsui Building, where also the Museum Store is housed on the ground floor. The two buildings are joined by a bridge. The Fung Ping Shan Building was graded as a Grade II Historic Building in 1981 and the exterior of Fung Ping Shan Building is now a declared monument under the Antiquities and Monuments Ordinance.

The Stephen Hui Geological Museum (Chinese: 許士芬地質博物館) is the first and only geological museum in Hong Kong. It is located on the ground and first floors of the James Hsioung Lee Building (厲樹雄科學館), in the University of Hong Kong Main Campus. The museum is part of the Department of Earth Sciences, the only earth sciences department in Hong Kong. With the goal of making the rock collection available for public viewing, the museum opened on January 16, 2009. It houses around 10,000 catalogued specimens from different parts of the world. The museum is open from Mondays to Fridays, 1PM to 6PM, with mornings reserved for guided group tours.

St. Louis School (Chinese: 聖類斯中學), located in Sai Ying Pun (historically West Point, Hong Kong) is a privately run, Catholic primary and (government-subsidized) secondary English grammar school. There are currently about 800 secondary students and 350 primary school students.

Pillar of Shame is a series of sculptures by Danish artist Jens Galschiøt memorialising the loss of life during specific events or caused by specific circumstances in history. Each sculpture is an eight-metre (26 ft) tall statue of bronze, copper or concrete. The first sculpture was inaugurated at the NGO Forum of the FAO summit in Rome in 1996. Since then three other pillars have been erected, in Hong Kong, Mexico, and Brazil. A fifth in Berlin was planned for completion in 2002, but the plan has not come to fruition due to various issues.

HKU (Chinese: 香港大學) is a station on the Hong Kong MTR Island line located in the Lung Fu Shan and Shek Tong Tsui neighbourhoods of the Western District, Hong Kong. It is named after The University of Hong Kong, which is also served by the station. Part of the West Island line, a westward extension to the existing Island line, HKU station opened on 28 December 2014 along with Kennedy Town station. As of its opening, HKU station is the largest and deepest station in the MTR network, at 70 metres (230 ft) below ground.

The Tang Chi Ngong Building (Chinese: 鄧志昂樓) is a building of the University of Hong Kong. It is located on the main campus near Pok Fu Lam Road in Pok Fu Lam, Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong. It opened in 1931 and currently houses the Jao Tsung-I Petite Ecole. The exterior of the building became a declared monument in 1995.

King's College (Chinese name:英皇書院), often informally referred to simply as King's or K.C., is a single-sex boys' government-funded secondary school located at 63A Bonham Road, Mid-levels, Hong Kong. It currently serves as a secondary education institution for pupils in forms 1–6. King's College is highly selective, only accepting 8 per cent of applicants in 2012. On 2 December 2011, the Antiquities and Monuments Office declared King's College a monument under the Antiquities and Monuments Ordinance.

Whitty Street is a street in Shek Tong Tsui, Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong. Named after R.C. Whitty, the first manager of Hong Kong and China Gas Company, the street is well known as one of seven terminals of the Hong Kong Tramways. The road starts from Queen's Road West, crossing Des Voeux Road West and ends in Connaught Road West. In the 1970s, there was a plan for an MTR station (named Whitty station) to be built beneath the street for the residents of Shek Tong Tsui. Space is reserved for the exit of the future station. Nonetheless, the plan has never come to fruition. A new plan suggests that a station would be built near the private housing estate The Belcher's instead of on Whitty Street. These MTR proposals were eventually superseded by the West Island line extension, which opened HKU station just south of Shek Tong Tsui. HKU station's Exit B1 opens directly onto the southern end of Whitty Street.
