Taegeukdang (Korean: 태극당; Hanja: 太極堂) is a historic bakery now located in Jangchung-dong, Jung District, Seoul, South Korea. It was originally founded in 1946 in Myeong-dong, and moved to its current location in 1973. It is considered the oldest active bakery in Seoul. It has remained a family business since then; in 2012 the third generation of the family took over. It sells a number of Western and Korean baked goods and confectionaries, including the ice cream sandwich product Monaca Ice Cream (모나카 아이스크림). Also popular are castella and jeonbyeong (sweet small pancakes).

Dongguk University (Korean: 동국대학교, Hanja: 東國大學校) is a private, coeducational university in South Korea, fundamentally based on Buddhism. Established in 1906 as Myeongjin School (명진학교; 明進學校) by Buddhist pioneers of the Association of Buddhism Research (불교연구회; 佛敎硏究會), the university gained full university status as Dongguk University in 1953. Jangchungdan Park (Korean: 장충단 공원) is a park located in Jung District, Seoul, South Korea. It is to the northeast of the mountain Namsan.It contains the historic Dangchungdan Shrine, which was built by Emperor Gojong in 1900 to memorialize Empress Myeongseong. The park has a children's baseball field, a tennis court, and a swimming pool. It is popular for walks and for exercise. It has a pine tree forest, with walking trails through it.

Dongguk University Station is a station on the Seoul Subway Line 3 located in Jangchung-dong 2-ga, Jung-gu, Seoul, Seoul. As its name indicates, it serves the nearby Dongguk University. In addition, Jangchung Gymnasium, an indoor sports arena most famous for hosting ssireum (Korean wrestling) matches on holidays, is outside Exit 5. It is also the closest station to Shilla Hotel.

It was rated one of the top 200 global restaurants for the 2024 La Liste, and has remained in the top 500 restaurants since joining the list in 2017.

Central Asia Street (Korean: 중앙아시아거리) is the nickname for an area in Gwanghui-dong, Jung District, Seoul, South Korea. It is so named because of the relatively high density of Central Asia-themed businesses in the area. In addition to its population of foreigners of non-Korean ethnicity, the area also has a notable population of Koryo-saram; ethnic Koreans from the former Soviet Union. The area reportedly formerly went by the name Little Moscow. Cyrllic, a script used for many Central Asian and Slavic languages, can be widely seen in the area. The ground level of the street has a number of restaurants and bars that specialize in Central Asian and Russian food and drinks, including kebabs and vodka. Along the main entrance to the street is a 10-story building known as "Mongolian Town". In addition to stores and restaurants, many of the establishments cater to the needs of the locals, such as banks, hair salons, and job agencies.The area is near the Dongdaemun History & Culture Park station and the park the station is named after.

Daehan Cinema (Korean: 대한극장; Hanja: 大韓劇場) is a historic movie theater at Chungmu-ro, Jung District, Seoul, South Korea. It was founded in 1958, and considered one of the premiere theaters in the country until the 1980s.The building has an entrance within the Chungmuro station on lines 3 and 4 of the Seoul Metropolitan Subway.

Hullyeonwon Park (Korean: 훈련원공원; Hanja: 訓鍊院公園) is a public park in Jung District, Seoul, South Korea. It was established on June 30, 1997, and has an area of 1.67346 ha (4.1352 acres). The park is named for the Hullyeonwon: the Joseon-era government ministry that oversaw military training.

Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Station is a station on the Seoul Subway Line 2, Line 4 and Line 5. The huge Dongdaemun Market district is centered on this station and Dongdaemun Station, located to the north across Cheonggyecheon.The Line 2 station is located in Euljiro-7-ga, Jung-gu, Seoul, and the Line 4 and 5 stations are located in Gwanghui-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul. This station is also known to have the highest train-platform gap related accidents in the entire country of South Korea with the total of 365 feet accidents each year.This station's Line 5 Transfer passageway was closed from 18 July 2018 to 20 September 2018 because of construction-related work.

Bangsan Market is a traditional market located in the Jugyo-dong neighborhood of Jung-gu, Seoul, South Korea. The market is famous for its pressed wrapping paper and includes more than 550 stores. The name of the market comes from the location's former condition during the Joseon Dynasty. At that time the area was not well maintained, and therefore became infamous for its bad smell. People began calling this place Bangsan, bang being Korean for fragrant.According to the Seoul Metropolitan Government, Bangsan Market has been designated a tourist destination since 2011. The government decided to keep the feel of a natural traditional market rather than modernize it.
