Brión (Galician: [bɾiˈoŋ]) is a municipality in the province of A Coruña, in the autonomous community of Galicia in northwestern Spain. It belongs to the comarca of Santiago de Compostela and is 13 km to the east of Santiago de Compostela. It has an area of 74.9 square kilometres (28.9 sq mi), and a population of 7,519 inhabitants (2014).

The Sar is a river in Galicia, Spain. Rising near Santiago de Compostela, it flows through the A Maía valley for over 30 kilometres (19 mi) before entering the Ulla River, near Padron. Pomponius Mela (d. 45 AD) mentions it (Sars) in De situ orbis libri III. Galician local poet Rosalía de Castro wrote a well-known collection titled En las Orillas del Sar ("On the Banks of the Sar"), in Castilian Spanish.

O Milladoiro is a Spanish town located in the parish of Viduido, in the municipality of Ames, in the province of A Coruña, Galicia. It currently has 13,352 inhabitants.

Castle da Rocha Forte is a ruined fort near Santiago de Compostela, in Galicia, Spain. It was first mentioned in written documents from 1253, but it had probably been built earlier.The castle was situated in a strategic location by road from Padrón village to Santiago. Pilgrims followed that route from Portugal. The castle is not on top of a hill as many other forts are, but in a valley where it could control all of the traffic into town.In addition to its purpose for defence, the castle was also a home for the Archbishop, which could provide the men of the local church a shelter from rioting citizens. In 1317, Berenguel de Landoira was nominated as Archbishop. The residents did not like him and started a rebellion. Archbishop Landoira had all the leaders of the rebellion executed. In the 15th century in Irmandiño wars the castle was damaged badly and it was abandoned. Later, in 1472 the walls were dismantled. During the Franco era the ruins were used as a hideout. In 1962, an electricity pylon was installed to the castle area.

Monte Pedroso is a granite summit close to Santiago de Compostela, Spain. Being the highest peak in the vicinity of Santiago it offers excellent views over the town. Close to the summit spiral-like engravings from Stone or Bronze Age have been found.

Centro de Supercomputación de Galicia (CESGA) is a high performance computing center in Galicia (Spain). Its most important features are the supercomputer FinisTerrae and the "Superordenador Virtual Gallego". Finisterrae is nowadays the third most powerful supercomputer in Spain, and it was initially ranked 100th according to the Top500 when installed in November 2007. CESGA provides advanced computing services to the Galician Scientific Community, Galician Universities and to the Spanish National Research Council (Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas - CSIC). CESGA also runs i-math, a Grid computing project with an initiative to approach Grid technologies to mathematics researchers, and operates the i-math Portal, a Grid Portal based on P-GRADE Portal technology. The University of Santiago de Compostela - USC (Galician: Universidade de Santiago de Compostela - USC, Spanish: Universidad de Santiago de Compostela - USC) is a public university located in the city of Santiago de Compostela, Galicia, Spain. A second campus is located in Lugo, Galicia. It is one of the world's oldest universities in continuous operation. The university traces its roots back to 1495, when a school was opened in Santiago. In 1504, Pope Julius II approved the foundation of a university in Santiago but "the bull for its creation was not granted by Clement VII until 1526". In 1555 the institute began to separate itself from strictly religious instruction with the help of Cardinal Juan Álvarez de Toledo and started to work towards developing other academic fields, including the emerging science fields. Today the university's facilities cover more than 130 hectares (320 acres). In terms of human resources, the university has more than 2,000 teachers involved in study and research, over 42,000 students, and more than 1,000 people working in administration and services. Moreover, in 2009, the university received the accreditation of Campus of International Excellence by the Ministry of Education, recognising USC as one of the most prestigious universities in Spain. The university ranks 5th in Spain's best universities ranking by Complutense University of Madrid and IAIF and 4th amongst public universities.
