The South Australian Fire Brigade was formed in 1882, following passing of the Fire Brigades Act. In 1981 the service was renamed to SAMFS when it became government funded. Hindmarsh Square/Mukata (formerly Mogata) is one of five public squares in the Adelaide city centre, South Australia. It is located in the centre of the north-eastern quarter of the city, and surrounds the intersection of Grenfell and Pulteney Streets, near the eastern end of the Rundle Mall. Pirie Street forms the southern boundary of the square. It is one of six squares designed by the founder of Adelaide, Colonel William Light, who was Surveyor-General at the time, in his 1837 plan of the City of Adelaide which spanned the River Torrens Valley, comprising the city centre (South Adelaide) and North Adelaide. It was named after John Hindmarsh, the first Governor of South Australia, in the same year by the Street Naming Committee. In 2003, as part of the Adelaide City Council's dual naming initiative, it was assigned a second name, Mogata (later corrected to Mukata), in the Kaurna language of the original inhabitants.

Adelaide Fire Station is a fire station located in Adelaide, the state capital of South Australia. It was designed by architects Rod Roach and Woodhead Australia, it is notable "for its innovative design is an outstanding example of postmodern architecture", it was designed and built during 1976 to 1983.The complex includes auxiliary buildings and a concrete training tower.It was listed on the South Australian Heritage Register on 16 September 2015.

Torrens University is an Australian international university and vocational registered training organisation, with campuses in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Blue Mountains, Australia, Auckland, New Zealand, and Suzhou, China. It began teaching in 2014 in its first campus in the Torrens Building in Adelaide city centre. As of 2021 the university has about 19,000 enrolled students.

It replaces the services of both Calvary Wakefield Hospital and Calvary Rehabilitation Hospital, providing acute care with inpatient and outpatient facilities. It also provides dental care, plastic and reconstructive surgery to patients. The building is owned by Commercial & General and was built by John Holland construction. Construction started in mid-2016. Construction of the building "topped out" to full height on 14 August 2018. Calvary Healthcare has a 30-year lease on the building. The site is located next to SA Police Headquarters and was formerly a car park.

The Crown & Anchor Hotel, affectionately known as The Cranker, is a pub in Grenfell Street, Adelaide, South Australia, known for its longstanding live music scene. The current building was designed by noted colonial architect, former mayor of Adelaide, and parliamentarian Thomas English and built in 1879, but it was extensively remodelled and extended in 1928 to designs by Milne, Evans, and Russell. As of April 2024 there are plans for multi-storey accommodation on the block, and only the facade is protected by local heritage listing.

It was founded by a group of Irish Christian Brothers in 1878, and it is now one of three Christian Brothers schools in the state.CBC is predominantly a secondary school, although it has a primary school campus, and now includes a community childcare centre, with a combined student population of approximately 1135 (as of 2013).
