Solbergfoss

Tosebygda is a village in the municipality of Trøgstad, Norway. It is located at 59°38′27″N 11°14′2″E in the western part of the municipality, between Askim and Skjønhaug.

Mørkfoss is a small village in Indre Østfold municipality, Østfold, Norway. It is located in the southern end of lake Øyeren, at the continuation of Glomma river. Mørkfoss has traces of a dam construction which was built in connection to the Solbergfoss power plant.

Solbergfoss Hydroelectric Power Station (Norwegian: Solbergfoss kraftverk) is a run-of-the-river hydroelectric power station on the Glomma, in Indre Østfold municipality, Østfold county, Norway. Construction of the power station began in 1913. It was operational in 1924. Solbergfoss is owned by E-CO Energi (64,4%) and Statkraft (35,6%).

Askim () is a town and a former municipality in (from January 1, 2020) Indre Østfold municipality in the county of Østfold, Norway. The administrative centre of the Askim municipality was the town of Askim. Askim was established as a municipality on 1 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). Askim is the largest population centre in the Indre Østfold region, with 15,315 inhabitants as of 2012, and serves as a regional center for nine municipalities in the Indre Østfold region. It lies next to the longest river in Norway, Glomma, which forms the border with the former Spydeberg municipality to the north and west, and Skiptvet municipality to the south. Askim also borders to the former Trøgstad municipality to the northeast and the former Eidsberg municipality to the southeast. Askim produces large amounts of hydroelectricity at three dams / hydroelectric power plants in the river Glomma. From upstream to downstream: Solbergfoss, Kykkelsrud, then Vamma. There was nickel mining at Kykkelsrud at the turn of the 20th century. These mines are also one of the few places where "Spheroidal Norite" ("Potato Stone") is found. Askim has been an industrial city for most of the 20th century. The main employer, Viking Gummi (producing rubber products like boots and tyres etc.), shut down their rubber product production in 1991 after being taken over by the Continental Tyres owned Swedish Gislaved Tyres. Glava was the main employer by the 2010s, making glass cotton insulation etc.

Askim Næringspark Station (Norwegian: Askim Næringspark holdeplass), until 2008 named Næringsparken, was a railway station situated in the eastern outskirts of Askim, Norway. Situated 31.02 kilometers (19.27 mi), it consisted of a single side platform and served an hourly train of the Oslo Commuter Rail. The station opened on 29 May 1994. It was closed on 9 December 2012 due to low usage, with only 44 average daily boarding and disembarking passengers.

Indre Østfold is a municipality in the region of Indre Østfold in Østfold county. The municipality was established on 1 January 2020 by a merger of the five municipalities Askim, Eidsberg, Hobøl, Spydeberg and Trøgstad. The municipality has a total population of just under 45,000, spread out over several small towns such as Askim, Mysen, Spydeberg, Skjønhaug and Tomter. This is quite unusual for Norwegian municipalities.

Østfoldbadet is a water park located in Askim, Norway. The park was officially opened on December 16, 2000. Construction commenced on August 31, 1999 and was completed in December 2000.

Askim Station (Norwegian: Askim stasjon) is located at Askim, Norway on the Eastern Østfold Line. The railway station is served by the Oslo Commuter Rail line L22 from Oslo Central Station. The station was opened with the eastern line of Østfold Line in 1882.

Askim Upper Secondary School (Norwegian: Askim Videregående Skole) is an Upper Secondary School situated in the outskirts of the municipality of Askim. It was originally two different schools; Hov Upper Secondary School (general studies) and Ask Upper secondary School (vocational training), but they merged to Askim Upper Secondary School for practical reasons. It is a public school, both run and owned by the county of Viken. The school is most known nationally, and to a small extent internationally, for its many successful 'youth enterprises'. The youth enterprise is a part of one of the schools many branches of study. The second grade students of this branch create their own small-time company and try to survive in the market selling a service or a product they have created. The school is also an 'Environmental Lighthouse', meaning it makes an effort in sorting garbage, reducing the amount of waste resources and reducing the schools energy consumption.

Langnes Station (Norwegian: Langnes holdeplass) was a railway station located at Langnes in Askim, Norway. Situated on the Eastern Østfold Line, it was 49.61 kilometers (30.83 mi) from Oslo Central Station (Oslo S). Established as a flag stop in 1928, it saw limited traffic, with only 28 daily boarding and disembarking passengers in 2008. The station was moved 300 meters (980 ft) eastwards in 1989. It consisted of a simple side platform and a shed. The station closed on 9 November 2012.

Langnes is a village in Indre Østfold municipality in Østfold, Norway. The town is most known for the historically important Battle of Langnes which occurred during the events of 1814.

Slitu is a village in the former municipality of Eidsberg, Norway, now part of the municipality of Indre Østfold. Its population (2005) is 543, of which seven people lived within the border of the neighboring former municipality of Trøgstad. now also part of the municipality of Indre Østfold.
