Brannel School is a co-educational secondary school located in St Stephen-in-Brannel, in Cornwall, England, UK. There are around 750 children aged 11–16 on roll. The school was established in 1961 and was designated as a 'Beacon School' in 2000. Brannel School became a specialist college for English and the Performing Arts in 2005, and in November 2017 the school became an academy as part of the Cornwall Education Learning Trust. Brannel School offers a broad curriculum for students with options being studied in Years 10 and 11. The school also has a specialist provision for students with severe physical disabilities.

St Stephen-in-Brannel (known locally as St Stephen's or St Stephen) (Cornish: Eglosstefan yn Branel) is a civil parish and village in mid Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. St Stephen village is four miles (6.5 km) west of St Austell on the southern edge of Cornwall's china clay district. The parish also contains the villages of Foxhole, Nanpean, Treviscoe and Whitemoor, and the hamlets of Carpalla, Coombe, Currian Vale, High Street, Hornick, Lanjeth, Stepaside and Terras. The population of the civil parish at the 2011 census was 7,119. An electoral ward also exists simply bearing the name St. Stephen. The population at the same census was 4,772 only.

Truro and St Austell was a county constituency in Cornwall represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament from its 1997 creation to its 2010 abolition by Matthew Taylor of the Liberal Democrats, who was appointed a life peer in the House of Lords following his service as a Member of Parliament (MP). The constituency elected one MP by the first past the post system of election.

Coombe (Cornish: Komm) is a village in mid Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. The village is situated approximately four miles (6 km) west of St Austell at grid reference SW 951 514 . It is in the civil parish of St Stephen-in-Brannel.

Roseland Observatory is located in Court Farm, one mile (1.6 km) southeast of St Stephen-in-Brannel, in mid Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. Roseland observatory was started in 1998 by Clive Purchase in preparation for the solar eclipse in 1999. It was established at the Roseland Community School in Cornwall and had an array of large telescopes, including a 20" heliostat, the largest in the country, for the study of the Sun. Clive Purchase concentrated on teaching primary schools the basics of astronomy and then bringing the groups to the observatory for night viewing sessions of the night sky. The observatory carried out an experiments to measure the infrared flux during the eclipse, due to the cloud some unusual results were obtained which are still being researched. The support for this experiment came from the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory. After the eclipse, Brian Sheen relocated the observatory to its present site of Court Farm, St Stephen in Brannel. Brian Sheen is lecturer in Astronomy and Astrophysics at Cornwall College.

Grampound Road (Cornish: Fordh Ponsmeur) is a village in the parish of Ladock, Cornwall, England, 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) north-west of Grampound. The railway station of that name was opened on 4 May 1859 and closed in 1964. A small village known as Grampound Road grew up around the railway station and continues to expand despite the station closing (along with other stations on the line) on 5 October 1964. An annual horse fair was held in the 19th century; organised by Mr Joseph H Griggs of Nantellan. The 1882 fair was at that time considered to be the most successful, with events including hurdle and bank jumping. Grampound Road is home to Grampound Road Cricket Club. Grampound Road is also home to one shop which also contains a post office. Grampound Road Post Office also serves Probus and Ladock through an outreach program. Grampound Road has a children's play area located within the recreation ground next to the cricket club. Grampound Road has a primary school, Grampound Road Church of England School, and is overseen by the Rainbow Trust Academy, run by the diocese of Truro. The school has four classrooms and approximately 100 pupils. There is a small industrial estate located at the new stables end of the village. There is a small business area located opposite the shop, consisting of small office style units and a nursery catering for children aged from babies to 5 years old.

Little Treviscoe is a village near Treviscoe in Cornwall. It contains about 30 properties. There are numerous abandoned china clay workings in the area surrounding it. In 2013 the village had issues with a cat. It has typical Cornish weather.

Grampound in Cornwall was a borough constituency of the House of Commons of the Parliament of England, then of the Parliament of Great Britain from 1707 to 1800 and of the Parliament of the United Kingdom from 1801 to 1826. It was represented by two Members of Parliament.

Grampound with Creed (Cornish: Ponsmeur a'byth Sen Krida) is a civil parish in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. The two major settlements in the parish are the ancient town of Grampound and the smaller village of Creed (Cornish: Krida). The larger settlement, Grampound, is situated approximately six miles (10 km) west of St Austell at grid reference SW 935 483, and Creed is one mile (1.6 km) south at SW 934 472. Grampound with Creed is bordered by St Stephen-in-Brannel parish to the north, St Ewe parish to the east and Cuby parish to the south. On the west, the parish boundary generally follows the River Fal, which separates it from Probus parish. At the 2021 census the parish had a population of 850.
