Newlyn Tidal Observatory is a grade II listed tide gauge hut on the South Pier in Newlyn, Cornwall in England. Measurements of sea level taken at the observatory between 1915 and 1921 were used to define the reference level, Ordnance Datum Newlyn, for height measurement on the British mainland. The tide gauge has collected over 100 years of observations which has significantly contributed to studies in sea level science.

St Pol de Léon's Church, also known as Paul Parish Church, is a parish church in the Church of England Diocese of Truro, located in Paul, Cornwall, England.

Paul (Cornish: Breweni) is a village in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is in the civil parish of Penzance. The village is two miles (3 km) south of Penzance and one mile (1.6 km) south of Newlyn.The village of Paul should not be confused with the former civil parish of Paul, which lay to the west of the village and, since 1934 with the reorganisation of local government, does not include the village of Paul. Like many Cornish communities Paul has its own community celebration. Paul Feast is held on the Sunday nearest to 10 October every year when the village is decorated and a civic service takes place on the Sunday of the feast itself led by the Mayor of Penzance.

Penlee Lifeboat Station is the base for Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) search and rescue operations for Mount's Bay in Cornwall, United Kingdom. The lifeboat station operated at various locations in Penzance from the early 19th century. It moved to Penlee Point near Mousehole in 1913, thus gaining its current name, but was moved to Newlyn in 1983 without any change of name. The station is remembered for the loss of the entire lifeboat crew on 19 December 1981. Since 2003 the station has operated a Severn-class all weather boat (ALB) and an Atlantic-class (currently an Atlantic 85) inshore lifeboat (ILB). The Severn-class lifeboat has an operating range of 250 nautical miles (460 km) and a top speed of 25 knots (46 km/h), enabling it to reach any casualty up to 50 miles (80 km), and within two hours in good weather. Adjacent lifeboats are at The Lizard to the east, and Sennen Cove to the west.

Newlyn Art Gallery is a contemporary art gallery located in Newlyn, Cornwall, UK. Opened in 1895, designed by James Hicks of Redruth and financed by John Passmore Edwards the gallery was conceived as a home and exhibition venue for the Newlyn School of Art the works of which are now largely located at Penlee House Gallery and Museum in nearby Penzance.Following an architectural design competition managed by RIBA Competitions, the gallery was redeveloped and a second venue The Exchange in Penzance, was opened in 2007. With two venues it offers a wide and varied programme across two sites. The focus at Newlyn Art Gallery is on painting and drawing. Artists working in other media continue to be a part of the programme on occasions, but two-dimensional work is the clear focus. Recent shows have included major retrospectives by Roger Hilton and Breon O'Casey. As a dog-friendly venue, dogs on leads are allowed to visit the gallery. At Newlyn Art Gallery, the pavilion on the seaward side of the gallery is a glass structure on the ground-floor level, which supports a first floor clad in wet-laid Cornish slate, a building method specific to the region, but rarely seen in modern buildings. The glass curtain wall allows panoramic views of Newlyn Green and the sea while sliding doors lead to a secluded garden and outdoor seating area. The versatile Lower Gallery presents small exhibitions, projects and events. The Education Room and Studio Cafe on the first floor of the pavilion has a large window offering panoramic views across Mount's Bay, as well as a skylight the length of the gabled ceiling.

Newlyn School of Art is a not-for-profit educational organisation based in West Cornwall offering short art courses and mentoring by way of professional development for artists. The art school was set up in 2011 with part funding from the Arts Council of England towards the equipment set up costs. Newlyn School of Art is based in the famous artists' colony of Newlyn in West Cornwall and provides art courses in painting, drawing, sculpture, pottery and printmaking taught by many of the best known artists working in Cornwall today. Many of the art school's courses take place in the dramatic coastal surroundings nearby which inspired the famous Newlyn School of Painters in the late 1800s and early 1900s. The art school has provided courses for over 2,000 students since opening towards the end of 2011. Aside from the courses it provides on its own premises at the art school it has also been commissioned to provide courses for Tate Gallery, Penlee House Gallery and Museum and in association with Newlyn Art Gallery in Cornwall. The first annual fundraising exhibition of the art school's tutors took place in October 2013 at Newlyn Art Gallery. The school provides teaching work for over thirty of Cornwall's most respected artists currently including; Rose Hilton, Neil Pinkett, Jason Walker, Naomi Frears, Jack Doherty, Paul Lewin, Jesse Leroy Smith, Tim Shaw, Paul Wadsworth, Lisa Wright, Sam Bassett, Jessica Cooper, Gareth Edwards, Hannah Woodman, Patrick Lowry, Maggie O'Brien, Rachael Kantaris, Mary Crockett, Kate Walters, Mark Spray, Tom Rickman, David Paton, Mark Surridge, Marie Claire Hamon, Faye Dobinson, Claire Armitage, Lucy Willow, Caroline Pedler, Jacqui Knight, Nik Strangelove, Alex Higlett, Geogina Hounsome, Mark Jenkin and Rachael Reeves. The art school is housed in a Victorian school building in the Artists' Quarter of Newlyn.

Newlyn (Cornish: Lulyn: Lu 'fleet', Lynn/Lydn 'pool') is a seaside town and fishing port in south-west Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is the largest fishing port in England. Newlyn lies on the shore of Mount's Bay and forms a small conurbation with the neighbouring town of Penzance. It is part of the Penzance civil parish. The principal industry is fishing, although there are also a variety of yachts and pleasure boats in the harbour, as Newlyn has become a popular holiday destination with pubs and restaurants. Although the parish is now listed under Penzance there is an electoral ward in separate existence called Newlyn and Mousehole. The population as of the 2011 census was 4,432.

Mousehole Wild Bird Hospital and Sanctuary is a bird sanctuary and hospital based near Mousehole, a village in west Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. The Hospital accepts both land and sea birds in need of care, to heal and return them to the wild. If this is not possible and they take kindly to captivity, then they are given sanctuary for the remainder of their lives. Those beyond help are painlessly destroyed. During each year approximately 1000 birds are treated at the Hospital, and about 80 permanent residents. The Staff care for the birds 365 days a year in the same tradition as the founders. The hospital was founded in 1928 by Dorothy and Phyllis Yglesias. Over the years the Sanctuary has become famous, especially so during the 1967 Torrey Canyon disaster, when over 8,000 oiled birds passed through the Hospital.

Mousehole Association Football Club is a football club based in Paul, Cornwall. They are currently members of the Southern League Division One South and play at Trungle Parc. It is named for the nearby village of Mousehole.

Penlee Point (Cornish: Penn Legh, meaning ‘stone-slab headland’) is a promontory near the coastal fishing village of Mousehole in west Cornwall, England, UK. It was the launching point of the Penlee lifeboat, which was lost in the disaster of 1981. In 1883, Mr J Runnalls employed seventy people at the Penlee quarries and stone-mills. The stone was wholly used for road-making and was claimed to be one of the most durable available. On one square inch of stone, it took a pressure of 29.011 lbs to crush the stone and on one square foot, it took 1365 tons. Stone was exported to Welsh ports instead of ballast and to Bristol, Ipswich, London and Lowestoft for roads. Stone to London was taken weekly by steamer from Penzance and by sailing vessels from Mousehole.In 1990 Penlee Point was designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest for its geological interest. The SSSI includes two small disused quarries as well as the cliff and foreshore.
