The Lyric Theatre is a historic theater located at 59 Southwest Flagler Avenue in downtown Stuart, Florida. The building fronts on its north side on Southwest Osceola Street. Built to serve as a movie house, it is now used primarily as a stage and music venue. Additions were made on the west side to provide back stage space for these new uses. The additions also face on both streets. On November 12, 1993, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

Woodmen Hall is an historic 2-story wooden Woodmen of the World building located 217 SW Akron Avenue, corner of SW 3rd Street in Stuart, Martin County, Florida. It was built between 1913-1914 by local master carpenter Sam Matthews. Like many fraternal buildings built in the late 19th century and early 20th century, the ground floor was designed for commercial use, while the upper floor was designed for use as a meeting room for Pineapple Camp No. 150, Woodmen of the World as well as community groups. Prominent members of Pineapple Camp include George W. Parks, who had a general store in what is now the Stuart Heritage Museum and in 2000 was added to the state's list of Great Floridians. Early users of the first floor include H.A. Carlisle's Feed Store. From the 1930s until 1959, Southern Bell used the first floor as a business office, while the Stuart telephone exchange was located on the second floor. Recent uses have included a church (the Treasure Coast Presbyterian Church) and a coffee house and open mic music venue. One group performing in it even calls itself, Woodmen Hall. The building has been recently renovated through the efforts of Stuart Main Street. An elevator has been added. The double outside staircases on the eastern part of the south side have been reduced to one, while an outside staircase has been added on the north side toward Akron Avenue. The two large front windows differ from those shown in a 1925 photograph. "In 1989, Woodmen Hall was listed in A Guide to Florida's Historic Architecture, published by the University of Florida Press. " Today Woodmen Hall is occupied by a regional insurance firm, Wiglesworth - Rindom Insurance Agency, Inc.

The Old Martin County Court House, built in 1937, is a historic Art Deco style courthouse building located at 80 East Ocean Boulevard in Stuart, Martin County, Florida. In 1989, it was listed in A Guide to Florida's Historic Architecture, published by the University of Florida Press. On November 7, 1997, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. On March 15, 2007, it was added to the Martin County Historic Register by the Martin County Historic Preservation Board. It is now known as the Courthouse Cultural Center and is the headquarters of the Arts Council, Inc., the designated local arts agency for Martin County.

The Stuart Heritage Museum, at 161 Southwest Flagler Avenue in Stuart, Florida, is a local history museum located in an historic 2-story frame building built in 1901 by George W. Parks. Parks used the first floor of the building for his Geo. W. Parks Grocery and General Merchandise Store and second floor for his home. In 1913, the building became the Stuart Mercantile Company and in the 1960s after a series of uses, it became the Stuart Feed Store. In 1989, the Stuart Feed Store was listed in A Guide to Florida's Historic Architecture.The museum houses over 10,000 artifacts from the 1880s to the 1950s.In April 2010, the historic 1920s Talley and Evans Crary Sr. House at 311 Cardinal Way was cut in half and moved to the vacant lot just west of the Feed Store, where it awaits restoration and use by Stuart Heritage Museum.

Stuart is a city in and the county seat of Martin County, Florida, United States. Located in southeastern Florida, Stuart is the largest of five incorporated municipalities in Martin County. The population is 17,425 according to the 2020 U.S. census. Stuart is the 126th largest city in Florida based on official 2019 estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau. It is part of the Port St. Lucie, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area. Stuart is frequently cited as one of the best small towns to visit in the U.S., in large part because of its proximity to the St. Lucie River, Indian River Lagoon, and the Atlantic Ocean.

The Old Roosevelt Bridge (also called the St. Lucie River Bridge) is a bascule bridge that carries the old Dixie Highway (County Road 707) across the St. Lucie River in Stuart, Florida. It used to have twin parallel bascule drawbridges - one for northbound traffic (opened in 1934), and the other southbound (opened in 1964) - before the new Roosevelt Bridge (US 1) was built. When the new bridge was completed in 1996 the northbound span of the bridge was torn down, leaving the southbound span which now carries traffic in both directions. This bridge was enacted by Roosevelt's New Deal. Although the rest of the old Dixie Highway adjacent to the bridge has been given to the city of Stuart, the Florida Department of Transportation continues to maintain the bridge as unsigned State Road 707.

The Roosevelt Bridge is a major highway segmental bridge across the St. Lucie River in Stuart, Florida. Carrying U.S. Route 1 (Federal Highway; unsigned State Road 5), it was built to supersede the old Roosevelt Bridge, which had twin parallel drawbridges, one for northbound traffic (opened in 1934, 27.202783°N 80.259898°W / 27.202783; -80.259898) and the other for southbound (opened in 1964, 27.202475°N 80.259762°W / 27.202475; -80.259762). The new bridge, completed in 1996, is raised and much longer than the older twin drawbridges. The southbound span of the old bridge is still functional for road and boat traffic and now carries two-way road traffic for what is now known as Dixie Highway, County Road 707. The new high-level Roosevelt Bridge is approximately one mile long and is made of two three-lane sections running parallel to each other. The northbound bridge was completed first, and housed two lanes of both north and south-bound traffic until the second bridge was finished. Because of high traffic volume and visibility, the Roosevelt Bridge is a frequent location for many protests and political campaigning in the area.

The Krueger House is a historic house in Stuart, Martin County, Florida. It is located on the grounds of the historic Burn Brae Plantation. On February 14, 2002, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

Martin County School District, also referred to officially as the School Board of Martin County, is a public school district that covers Martin County, Florida.The position of superintendent is appointed by the school board. Its former Superintendent, Laurie J. Gaylord, was first elected in 2012, with her second term ending in November 2020. Following a decision by voters in 2018, the next Superintendent was appointed rather than elected. The current superintendent, John D. Millay, took office in 2020. The district is overseen by the Martin County School Board, a body of five elected officers.

Rio is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Martin County, Florida, United States. The population was 980 at the 2020 census. Rio is pronounced locally as if it were spelled "Rye-oh". It is part of the Port St. Lucie Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Martin County High School is a public high school in Stuart, Florida, USA, in the Martin County School District.[1] The school enrolled 2,079 students in a 2012 census. In 2022, it was a "B" rated school through the Florida Department of Education. The school is home to two signature programs: Cambridge International Advanced Program and the Career & Technical Programs Students are eligible to participate in the Indian River State College Dual Enrollment program to simultaneously earn high school credits and college credits.Its mascot is the tiger and its colors are blue and gold. The principal is Alfred Fabrizio.
