William Mitchell College of Law was a private, independent law school located in St. Paul, Minnesota, United States, from 1956 to 2015. Accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA), it offered full- and part-time legal education in pursuit of the Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree. On December 9, 2015, William Mitchell merged with its longtime rival, the Hamline University School of Law, and became the Mitchell Hamline School of Law.

The House of Hope Presbyterian Church in Saint Paul, Minnesota was founded in 1907, by the merger of two churches that were founded in 1849 and 1855.Its building was designed by noted architect Ralph Adams Cram starting in 1909; the church was completed in 1914. It is a Gothic Revival style church with flying buttresses needed to support walls thin enough for stained glass windows.The church was expanded in 1959. It received a 2014 St. Paul Heritage Preservation Award for completion of a major restoration of the church and its bell tower costing $3.2 million that including replacing the slate roof and adding copper flashings.

SteppingStone Theatre for Youth Development is the largest performing theatre for youth in the greater Saint Paul area. The mainstage season, which runs annually from October to July, features many plays written on commission by emerging local playwrights. SteppingStone Theatre also offers years round youth acting classes, workshops and residencies throughout the Twin Cities and greater Minnesota.

The Minnesota Governor's Residence, informally referred to as the Governor's Mansion, serves as the official home of the governor of the U.S. state of Minnesota. The house, located at 1006 Summit Avenue in Saint Paul, is on 1.5 acres (0.61 ha) of land. The building is slightly more than 16,000 square feet (1,500 m2) in size.The house was designed by Minneapolis architect William Channing Whitney for Saint Paul lumber businessman Horace Hills Irvine and his family. The 20 room English Tudor house has nine bedrooms, eight bathrooms, and nine fireplaces. The Irvine family lived in the home from 1912 until 1965, when the Irvines' youngest daughters, Clotilde Irvine Moles and Olivia Irvine Dodge, donated it to the people of Minnesota to serve as the official residence of the First Family. The Minnesota Legislature in 1965 passed a law accepting the donation and designating the house as the State Ceremonial Building for official public use for state ceremonial functions and as a governor's residence. The law placed the house and its management under the jurisdiction of the Minnesota Department of Administration. From 1965 until 1980, governors were permitted to propose changes to the house. The Legislature provided renovation funds and the Department of Administration supervised the improvements. From 1965 to 1967, a committee assisted with furnishing the house, but the governor retained the authority to make changes. In 1974, the house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. With this designation, any renovation to the exterior of the residence must be reviewed and approved by the State Historic Preservation Office of the Minnesota Historical Society. It is also a contributing property to the Historic Hill District.Every year, a forester from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources selects a giant Christmas tree, harvested from a Minnesota State Forest, often from near Pine City, to adorn the front lawn during the holiday season.

The Vienna and Earl Apartment Buildings are Neo-Classical Revival residences, built and designed in 1907 by Louis F. Lockwood and Carl P. Waldon, located 2 blocks north of Summit Avenue in Saint Paul, Minnesota. The buildings are Registered Historic Places.

The Frank B. Kellogg House is a historic house at 633 Fairmount Avenue in Saint Paul, Minnesota, United States. It is listed as a National Historic Landmark for its association with Nobel Peace Prize-winner Frank B. Kellogg, co-author of the Kellogg–Briand Pact. Kellogg Boulevard in downtown Saint Paul is also named for him. The house was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1976. It is also a contributing property to the Historic Hill District.The house is a large 2+1⁄2-story structure, built mostly out of a variety of stone, including granite, sandstone, and brownstone. The original rectangular block was designed by William H. Willcox and completed in 1890, and exhibits a blend of Queen Anne and Romanesque styling. In 1923 Kellogg added a large addition, designed by Allen H. Stem was constructed on the north-east side of the house, reorienting the front from Fairmount Avenue to Dale Street. This addition was called the "Coolidge Wing", although it is not clear whether it was built before or after President Calvin Coolidge visited Kellogg here in 1923. The house is one of two surviving structures closely associated with Kellogg; the other is in Washington, DC.From 1889 until his death, this was the permanent residence of Frank B. Kellogg (1856-1937), lawyer, U.S. Senator, and diplomat. As Secretary of State from 1925 to 1929, he negotiated the 1928 Kellogg–Briand Pact—for which he received the Nobel Peace Prize—and shifted foreign policy away from interventionism. He died at home in 1937, on the eve of his 81st birthday from pneumonia, following a stroke.

27 Crocus Place, also known as the J.M. Carlson House, was a 1902 Queen Anne style timber-frame house in Saint Paul in the U.S. state of Minnesota. It was a contributing property to the Historic Hill District.It was the home of Minnesota Governor Joseph A. A. Burnquist where he wrote several works in the series "Minnesota and its People" during the 1920s.Despite historic preservation efforts by the city and neighbors, a court approved its demolition in 2015. The final owners of the house, Fred and Renee Pritzker, had it demolished to build a new residence for their adult son, who has Angelman syndrome. In the settlement with the city, they were required to document the historic structure before it was destroyed.

Saint Paul-Reformation Lutheran Church (SPR) is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) located in Saint Paul, Minnesota, United States. It is part of the Saint Paul Area Synod. The congregation gained national attention in 2001 when it ordained Anita C. Hill (not to be confused with Anita Hill of the Clarence Thomas US Senate confirmation hearings). Hill is a lesbian in a committed relationship. Under ELCA guidelines at the time of her ordination, a candidate who "self-identifi[ed] as a homosexual is expected to refrain from sexual relations." The Saint Paul Area Synod, the local ecclesiastical authority, chose to "censure and admonish" the congregation for a period of time. The congregation continued to contribute the ELCA, attending Synodical gatherings and other meetings, and was formally reinstated to the roster of congregations when the policies of the ELCA were changed in 2009. The congregation is also notable in that nearly 25% of its membership identifying as LGBT. Liturgy, preaching, and music continue to be exceptionally important to the parish as well as its continued ministries of social justice.

West Seventh Street Park was the name usually used for two different baseball parks in St. Paul, Minnesota. Other names sometimes used were Fort Street Grounds or Fort Road Grounds, that street name being a synonym for West Seventh Street due it being the main route from downtown St. Paul to Fort Snelling. The 1884 ballpark was nominally the home field of the St. Paul entry in the one-year major league known as the Union Association, although the club played no home games during their short life in the UA.

Summit Avenue is a street in St. Paul, Minnesota, United States, known for being the longest avenue of Victorian homes in the country, having a number of historic houses, churches, synagogues, and schools. The street starts just west of downtown St. Paul and continues four and a half miles west to the Mississippi River where Saint Paul meets Minneapolis. Other cities have similar streets, such as Prairie Avenue in Chicago, Euclid Avenue in Cleveland, and Fifth Avenue in New York City. Summit Avenue is notable for having preserved its historic character and mix of buildings, as compared to these other examples. Historian Ernest R. Sandeen described Summit Avenue as "the best preserved example of the Victorian monumental residential boulevard."Summit Avenue is part of two National Historic Districts and two City of Saint Paul Heritage Preservation Districts. The National Historic Districts are the Historic Hill District, an irregular area roughly bounded by Lexington Avenue, Portland Avenue, Dale Street North, Marshall Avenue, Pleasant Street, and Grand Avenue (exclusive of the area within the Woodland Park Historic District), and the West Summit Avenue Historic District, a narrow area running from Oxford Street South west to the Mississippi River along Summit Avenue. The city districts are Summit Hill, also known as Crocus Hill, a triangular region from Lexington Avenue on the west, Summit Avenue on the north, and the bluffs (just north of Interstate Highway 35E) on the south, and Ramsey Hill, the area bounded by Summit Avenue, Dale Street, Interstate Highway 94, and a line running north from the Cathedral of St. Paul. Most of the houses in this district are large, distinctive houses built between 1890 and 1920. Summit Avenue was named one of 10 "great streets" nationally by the American Planning Association in 2008.

The F. Scott Fitzgerald House, also known as Summit Terrace, in Saint Paul, Minnesota, United States, is part of a group of rowhouses designed by William H. Willcox and Clarence H. Johnston Sr. The house, at 599 Summit Avenue, is listed as a National Historic Landmark for its association with author F. Scott Fitzgerald. The design of the houses was described as the "New York Style" in which unit was given a distinctive character found in some rowhouses in eastern cities. Architecture critic Larry Millett describes it as "A brownstone row house that leaves no Victorian style unaccounted for, although the general flavor is Romanesque Revival." The Fitzgerald house is faced with brownstone and is two bays wide with a polygonal two-story window bay on the right, and the entrance, recessed under a round arch that is flush with the bay front, on the left. The mansard roof has a cross-gable with two round-arch windows and decorative finials.Fitzgerald's parents, Edward and Mollie, moved back to St. Paul in 1914 while F. Scott Fitzgerald was a student at Princeton University. They lived in the unit at 593 Summit Avenue for a while, then moved to the 599 Summit Avenue unit in 1918. In July and August 1919, Fitzgerald rewrote the manuscript that became his first novel, This Side of Paradise. He lived here until January 1920, writing short stories, and then moved to New Orleans. Of the several places the Fitzgeralds lived, this one is most closely associated with his literary fame, and typifies the environments of some of his later works.It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1971. It is also a contributing property to the Historic Hill District, listed in 1976.F. Scott Fitzgerald was noted for disliking Summit Avenue, stating that Summit Avenue is “a mausoleum of American architectural monstrosities.”
