The Auckland Marine Rescue Centre is the control centre for the Coastguard Northern Region and Surf Lifesaving Northern Region, New Zealand (responsible for the region from Paihia to Thames, including the Hauraki Gulf). It also houses other marine services such as the Harbourmaster and the Maritime Police. It is located in Mechanics Bay, Auckland, at the eastern end of the Ports of Auckland container terminal.

Mechanics Bay (Māori: Te Tōangaroa) is a reclaimed bay on the Waitematā Harbour in Auckland, New Zealand. It is also the name of the area of the former bay that is now mainly occupied by commercial and port facilities. Sometimes the bay formed between Tamaki Drive and the western reclamation edge of Fergusson Container Terminal is also referred to as Mechanics Bay.

The Parnell Baths are a historic swimming pool in Parnell, Auckland. The pools feature the largest saltwater swimming pool in New Zealand, originally filling with seawater from the Waitematā Harbour. In the 1950s, the pool complex was redeveloped into the Lido style popular in the United Kingdom, by Hungarian architect Tibor Donner.

Dove-Myer Robinson Park, more commonly known as the Parnell Rose Garden, is a park in Parnell, Auckland, New Zealand. The park is named after Dove-Myer Robinson, the longest-serving mayor of Auckland, who served for 18 years. There are over 5,000 roses in the garden. Some of the plants in the garden have been bred by internationally celebrated rose breeders.The 'white garden' is a popular venue for weddings. As of 2010, the park was home to the oldest manuka and the largest pohutukawa tree in Auckland.Each year in November, the park is host to the Parnell Festival of Roses, which showcases New Zealand craft stalls, art exhibitions, music, strolling performers and thousands of roses.

Fort Resolution was a coastal defence fort erected at Point Resolution in Auckland, New Zealand. Located in the suburb of Parnell, it was constructed in 1885 in response to one of the 'Russian scares'. The fort was abandoned in 1904 and the site substantially cleared in 1914. It is now the site of Point Resolution Park.

Whitecliffe College is a private training establishment in New Zealand.Whitecliffe College was established as a fine arts, design and fashion school in Auckland by artist Greg Whitecliffe and Michele Whitecliffe in 1983.New Zealand educator Feroz Ali acquired Whitecliffe, NZ Fashion Tech, New Zealand School of Art & Fashion, and Computer Power Plus in 2018, and merged these institutions in 2019.Whitecliffe College currently offers programmes across Fine Arts, Design Innovation, Fashion + Sustainability, Jewellery, Information Technology and Creative Arts Therapies.Whitecliffe College has six campuses across New Zealand, including four in Auckland. The main campus is located on Symonds Street, the education hub of Auckland City. The other Auckland campuses are in Manukau City, Epsom and New Lynn. There are also campuses in Christchurch and Wellington.

Auckland Council (Māori: Te Kaunihera o Tāmaki Makaurau) is the local government council for the Auckland Region in New Zealand. It is a territorial authority that has the responsibilities, duties and powers of a regional council and so is a unitary authority, according to the Local Government (Auckland Council) Act 2009, which established the council. The governing body consists of a mayor and 20 councillors, elected from 13 wards. There are also 149 members of 21 local boards who make decisions on matters local to their communities. It is the largest council in Oceania, with a $3 billion annual budget, $29 billion of ratepayer equity, and 9,870 full-time staff as of 30 June 2016. The council began operating on 1 November 2010, combining the functions of the previous regional council and the region's seven city and district councils into one "super council" or "super city". The council was established by a number of Acts of Parliament, and an Auckland Transition Agency, also created by the central government. Both the means by which the council was established and its structure came under repeated criticism from a broad spectrum during the establishment period. The initial Council elections in October 2010 returned a mostly centre-left council with Len Brown as mayor. Brown was re-elected in October 2013, again with a largely supportive council. The 2016 mayoral election was won by Labour MP Phil Goff, who had a landslide victory over his nearest rivals, Victoria Crone and future Green Party MP Chlöe Swarbrick. Goff won re-election in the 2019 mayoral election and chose not to run in the 2022 mayoral election, which was won by Wayne Brown.

The Strand is a street in Auckland, New Zealand's most populous city. It connects the Ports of Auckland to the Auckland motorway network, and is the eastern end of State Highway 16.

St George's Bay (Māori: Te Wai o Taikehu) is a reclaimed bay on the southern side of the Waitematā Harbour that was one of the inner city bays. It was framed by two substantial headlands, Points Dunlop and Barnabas separating it from Mechanics Bay in the west, and Campbell's Point, after John Logan Campbell, separating it from Judge's Bay on the east. Point Dunlop and Point Barnabas have since been quarried away entirely, and Campbell's Point partially. This was originally known as Cooper’s Bay, after the first Colonial Treasurer, George Cooper, then George’s Bay, and finally St George’s Bay. St George’s Bay Road led down to the shoreline where remnants of the early cliff survive. The Maori name for the area is Waiataikehu or waiakehu, ‘waters of Taikehu’. Taikehu is the ancestor for the ancient Ngai Tai tribe. St George’s Bay was cut off from the sea in 1920 and then reclaimed.

Serko Limited, known as Serko, is a travel management and expense technology company headquartered in New Zealand.Serko publicly listed on the New Zealand Stock Exchange in June 2014 and in the Australian Stock Exchange in 2018 under the ticker code SKO. In October 2019, Booking Holdings purchased 4.7% as part of a partnership deal. In 2020 Serko won the New Zealand High-Tech Awards, winning company of the year.

Quay Park is a junction on the Auckland railway network in New Zealand. It normally links Britomart with Newmarket station for Western Line, Southern Line, and Onehunga Line services, which use a common set of tracks (the Newmarket Line) between Britomart and Newmarket. The Strand station has been closed to suburban train services since the opening of Britomart in 2003 and is now used as the terminus for the Auckland–Wellington Northern Explorer service via the North Island Main Trunk line and for chartered excursions. The junction can be switched in order to use The Strand as a backup for Britomart if required. The Wiri to Quay Park project announced in 2017 is expected to ease congestion on Auckland rail lines, improve rail freight access from the Port of Auckland to the Westfield yards and allow more frequent passenger and freight services. It is associated with the future third mainline. Funding for the project was announced in 2020. The project is to start in 2020 and be completed in 2024. The work at Quay Park will include adding two scissor crossings and separating freight from commuter tracks.
