Metro Świętokrzyska (Polish pronunciation: [ɕfjɛntɔˈkʂɨska]) is a transfer station on Lines M1 and M2 of the Warsaw Metro, located under the crossing of Świętokrzyska and Marszałkowska streets in the borough of Śródmieście. The station on M1 was opened on 11 May 2001 as part of the extension of M1 north from Centrum to Ratusz. Świętokrzyska is used as a change-over between Lines M1 and M2, and is the only transfer between M1 and M2 metro lines. The station on the second metro line fully opened for passenger use on 8 March 2015 as part of the inaugural stretch of Line M2 between Rondo Daszyńskiego and Dworzec Wileński. It was designed by Polish architect Andrzej M. Chołdzyński and constructed by Metroprojekt. Murals were created by Wojciech Fangor, artist of the Polish School of Posters.

Zielna (literally "related to weeds or herbs", "herbal") is a street in Warsaw city centre, Poland. Initially one of the main streets linking the southern city centre with its northern part, it lost much of its significance in 1941, when the nearby Marszałkowska street had been extended across the Saxon Garden to the Bankowy Sq. During the Warsaw Uprising of 1944 heavy fighting took place for the PAST skyscraper located at Zielna 37. The building was taken by the Polish forces in the effect of heavy fights. After the Uprising most of the street had been completely demolished. After the war only the two buildings of the PAST company had been rebuilt, while the rest of the ruins were removed. Currently there are plans to fill the empty space between Zielna and Marszałkowska with new houses, which however is still disputed.

Ulica Świętokrzyska (Holy Cross Street) in Warsaw's city centre is one of the Polish city's principal thoroughfares. It links the city's centre with Wola borough. The street is named for Holy Cross Church, which stands on Krakowskie Przedmieście. Named after the street are a Warsaw Metro station and the Świętokrzyski Bridge. The street was closed to traffic and trams from 2011 to March 2015 due to the construction of Warsaw's second Metro line (which runs underneath the length of the street).

Ulica Próżna (lit. Vain Street) is a historical street in Warsaw, Poland. It is the only former Warsaw Ghetto street still featuring as many as four tenement houses.The street is one of the few fragments of "Jewish Warsaw" in which the climate of the old Jewish quarter is revived during the Festival of Jewish Culture – Singer’s Warsaw. The festival has been held annually every September in Próżna Street and Grzybowski Square since 2004. In 2011−2013 buildings at number 7 and 9 underwent extensive renovations and have become office space. The Austrian Cultural Forum is located on number 7.The landmark PAST Tower, which was also a symbol of the Polish resistance, is right around the corner of the street.

Świętokrzyski Park is an urban park in Warsaw, Poland, created in the 1950s near the Palace of Culture and Science.Janusz Korczak Monument in Warsaw is located there.

Śródmieście Północne is a neighbourhood, and an area of the Municipal Information System, in the city of Warsaw, Poland, located within the district of Śródmieście.

The Janasz Palace (Polish: Pałac Janaszów, Pałac Janaszów Czackich) is a historic building on ulica Zielna in Warsaw, Poland. It was built in 1870–80 for Jakub Janasz to a design by Jan Kacper Heurich. It suffered little in World War II and is the best preserved palace in Warsaw from the second half of the nineteenth century. In 1970–73 the exterior and interior were restored to their original Neo-Baroque condition.It is now headquarters to the Polish Monuments Conservation Works (Polskie Pracownie Konserwacji Zabytków).

The Centrum Królewska is an office building in Warsaw, Poland, located at 142 Marszałkowska Street, at the crossing with Królewska Street. It was opened in 2002.

Café Adria was an entertainment complex and nightclub in Warsaw, which included an American bar, café, dance hall, restaurant and winter garden. It started operating in 1930 and during the 1930s it was also used as a location for filmmaking. It continued to operate during the Second World War, but this was for the German occupying forces who requisitioned it. It became a base for the Polish Home Army during the Warsaw Uprising, where it was damaged by bombardment.

The Battle of Warsaw (German: Schlacht von Warschau; Polish: Bitwa pod Warszawą; Swedish: Tredagarsslaget vid Warschau) took place near Warsaw on July 28–July 30 [O.S. July 18–20] 1656, between the armies of the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth and Sweden and Brandenburg. It was a major battle in the Second Northern War between Poland and Sweden in the period 1655–1660, also known as The Deluge. According to Hajo Holborn, it marked "the beginning of Prussian military history".In the battle, a smaller Swedish-Brandenburg force, but with the fire superiority of infantry and artillery gained victory over a Polish–Lithuanian force superior in numbers, though in the long term the victory achieved little. Polish–Lithuanian losses were insignificant, since the Polish noble levy promptly and unbroken retreated from the battlefield.

Wesoła (Polish pronunciation: [vɛˈsɔwa]) is one of the districts of Warsaw, and has been as such since October 27, 2002. Wesoła is located in the south-eastern part of city. Wesoła received town privileges on December 17, 1968. Then, the town included Wola Grzybowska, Wesoła, Groszówka, Grzybowa, Zielona and Stara Miłosna estates. The development of the area was determined by its locality to 3 important routes. The first route, called Stary Trakt (English: Old Route), comes from Grochów, then travels through Okuniew, Stanisławów, and finally through South Podlasie towards Russia. Established near this route was Grzybowa village with Zielona (English: Green) inn and Wola Grzybowa, which now is called Wola Grzybowska. Near the second route, which comes from Prague, through Kamion, Grochowo, to Mińsk Mazowiecki, then through Terespol and Brest, the Miłosna village developed. In 1823 on the Stanisław Staszic's initiative a road was built, called Trakt Brzeski. The third route was the Warsaw–Terespol Railway, started on September 18, 1867. It comes from Warsaw to Terespol, through Siedlce and Łuków. Despite Warsaw growing and annexing new areas, there was no case where two streets shared the same name. The only exception is Wesoła, where a lot of streets have the same name, for example with streets in Warsaw. It presents many difficulties, so addresses in Wesoła are given with a 'Wesoła' annotation.

Janusz Korczak Monument in Warsaw at Świętokrzyski Park has been unveiled in 2006. It is dedicated to the memory of Janusz Korczak. It has been designed by Jan Bohdan Chmielewski and Zbigniew Mikielewicz. The initiative to build a monument to commemorate Korczak appeared just after the war. However, due to difficulties in raising funds, the works did not go beyond the stage of plans. In 1999, on the initiative of Gołda Tencer, General Director of the Shalom Foundation and Prof. Jadwiga Bińczycka, President of the Janusz Korczak Polish Association, the issue of building a monument was revived. Many people from the worlds of art, science and politics took patronage of the initiative. Funds for the construction of the monument were raised by organizing charity concerts, art auctions and support from the city authorities. The design of the monument was selected as a result of an international contest, announced in 2001. The project by Bohdan Chmielewski and Zbigniew Wilma won. The cornerstone of the monument was placed in 2003 by the Mayor of Warsaw, Lech Kaczyński. The monument was unveiled in 2006, on June 1, on Children's Day. The ceremony was a state event, attended by the President of the Republic of Poland Lech Kaczyński and the President of the Polish Janusz Korczak Association Prof. Jadwiga Bińczycka, Rabbi Michael Schudrich and the General Director of the Shalom Foundation Gołda Tencer. The monument was erected at the site of a house for Jewish orphans, from which Janusz Korczak set off on his journey to the concentration camp with his pupils. There are several monuments commemorating Janusz Korczak in Warsaw itself, the best known of which is the one located in the Jewish cemetery on Okopowa Street, which serves as his symbolic grave. However, the monument set up in the Świętokrzyski Park is not only the largest but also, due to its very convenient location, the most frequently visited by school trips and tourists monument commemorating Janusz Korczak. Every year, around June 1st, on Children's Day, trips from Warsaw schools go to the monument.
