Oksbøl railway station

Oksbøl is a town in southwestern Jutland in the Varde Municipality, in Region of Southern Denmark. As of 1 January 2023, it has a population of 2,844.Oksbøl Refugee Camp houses the refugee museum FLUGT, which opened in 2022. The museum describes the story of refugees from various conflicts throughout history as well as convey the history of the refugee camp. The museum is designed by Bjarke Ingels Group. Oksbøl is connected to the rest of Jutland via the town's two railway stations, Oksbøl station and Baunhøj station on the Vestbanen railway line, which runs trains between Nørre Nebel and Esbjerg via Varde.

The Oksbøl Refugee Camp was the largest camp for German refugees in Denmark after World War II.

Skødstrup is a village in Region of Southern Denmark (formerly in Ribe County) in Denmark.

The Varde (Danish: Varde Å) is a river of Jutland, Denmark. With a length of approximately 40 kilometres (25 mi), it is the third longest watercourse in Denmark, and has a catchment area of 1,088 square kilometres (420 sq mi). The river flows through the municipalities of Varde and Esbjerg, forming the boundary between them along parts of its course.

Ho Bay (Danish: Ho Bugt) is a Danish bay with an approximate area of 50 square kilometres (19 sq mi). It constitutes the northern end of the Wadden Sea, and lies between Skallingen in the southwest, Ho in the west, Oksbøl to the north and Hjerting to the east. At the northeastern end, Varde Å has its outlet through Tarp and Billum Enge, north of Marbæk Plantage. In the southern end of the bay lies the island Langli surrounded by large sandy surfaces, but with a road to the north to the peninsula Nyeng, south of Ho. As a part of the Wadden Sea, Ho Bay is an international nature conservation area under the Natura 2000 network, and Ramsar area, Special Area of Conservation and Special Protection Area.The name goes back to circa 1325 when it was Hoo that comes from the old Danish word trug. The property was early among the most inhabited areas in West Jutland, when the bay provided shelter for both freight and fishing boats. In 1941, there were big plans for land reclamation in Ho Bugt, where in a collaboration between Hedeselskabet and The Land Winding-up Committee would regulate Varde Å, make Langli landfast, and recover an area of 1,550 hectares (3,800 acres). However, the project was shelved when one feared a sanding of sailing into Esbjerg.

Ho is a village in southwestern Jutland in the Varde Municipality, in Region of Southern Denmark. Many tourists, especially Germans, visit the village primarily because of the nature of the area. It is 7 kilometers from Blåvand, 11 kilometers from Oksbøl and 32 from Esbjerg.

Outrup (or Ovtrup) is a town in Varde Municipality in the Region of Southern Denmark. The town has a population of 1,045 (1 January 2023).

Henne Kirkeby Kro is an inn (kro) in the village of Henne Kirkeby in Varde Municipality, Denmark. It was established in 1790 and since 2007 has been owned by Flemming Skouboe. The restaurant is managed by former chef Garrey Dawson and under chef Paul Cunningham was awarded a Michelin star in 2016 and a second in 2017.

Langli is a small marsh island in the Ho Bugt near Esbjerg on the Danish North Sea Coast. It is 0.8 km (0.5 mi) long and is accessible from Ho over a 3 km (2 mi) long causeway at low tide. Langli (original “Langeleje” = long camp) was up to the flood of 1634 part of a peninsula. Afterwards sea-laterally a second peninsula (today Skallingen) began to develop itself, which from now on protected Langli. The island was used for agriculture from the 16th century, but was not permanently settled until 1840 when two families moved there. They diked the island and successfully operated agriculture. In 1911 there were 38 inhabitants and even one school. The destruction by two floods and the refusal of the state to support the reconstruction of the dikes led to all inhabitants leaving the island in 1915. A later owner built himself a mansion on Langli. In 1982 the Danish state took the island over. Today, a scientific station is placed in the mansion. Langli is accessible to the public, by foot, between 16 July and 15 September each year. A multiplicity of different kinds of bird breed on Langli, e.g. seagulls, black-fronted terns etc.

Hjerting is a district of Esbjerg in southwest Jutland, Denmark, some 7 km (4.3 mi) north of the centre. As of 2011, it has 7,289 inhabitants. With a history as a fishing village going back some 700 years it is now an exclusive suburb with views over the sandy beach and the Wadden Sea.

Tirpitz Museum (Danish: Tirpitz Museet), also called Blåvand Bunker Museum, is a museum in Blåvand, on the coast of Jutland. It is built in an old bunker from which it got its name, and features exhibitions on the Atlantic Wall, the west coast of Denmark, and an amber collection.

Alslev is a town in southwestern Jutland in the Varde Municipality, in Region of Southern Denmark. As of 1 January 2023, it has a population of 1,283.Aslev and surrounding area was impacted by the F4 tornado that hit multiple towns on november 24, 1928. Minor damage was observed within aslev.
