Hjerting

Langli is a small marsh island in the Ho Bugt near Esbjerg on the Danish North Sea Coast. It is 0.8 km (0.5 mi) long and is accessible from Ho over a 3 km (2 mi) long causeway at low tide. Langli (original “Langeleje” = long camp) was up to the flood of 1634 part of a peninsula. Afterwards sea-laterally a second peninsula (today Skallingen) began to develop itself, which from now on protected Langli. The island was used for agriculture from the 16th century, but was not permanently settled until 1840 when two families moved there. They diked the island and successfully operated agriculture. In 1911 there were 38 inhabitants and even one school. The destruction by two floods and the refusal of the state to support the reconstruction of the dikes led to all inhabitants leaving the island in 1915. A later owner built himself a mansion on Langli. In 1982 the Danish state took the island over. Today, a scientific station is placed in the mansion. Langli is accessible to the public, by foot, between 16 July and 15 September each year. A multiplicity of different kinds of bird breed on Langli, e.g. seagulls, black-fronted terns etc.

Sædding is a district of Esbjerg in southwest Jutland, Denmark, some 5 km (3.1 mi) northwest of the centre and 5 km (3.1 mi) southeast of Hjerting.

Sædden Church (Danish: Sædden Kirke) is a church of the Church of Denmark in Esbjerg in the southwest of Jutland, Denmark. Designed by Inger and Johannes Exner, the almost cube-shaped building with a tall, free-standing bell tower was completed and consecrated in 1978.

The Fisheries and Maritime Museum (Danish: Fiskeri- og Søfartsmuseet) is a privately owned museum in Esbjerg, Denmark. Opened to the public in 1968, it consists of a saltwater aquarium for native species and a "sealarium" (exhibit for seals) as well as indoor and outdoor exhibitions on Danish fisheries and shipping.

The Varde (Danish: Varde Å) is a river of Jutland, Denmark. With a length of approximately 40 kilometres (25 mi), it is the third longest watercourse in Denmark, and has a catchment area of 1,088 square kilometres (420 sq mi). The river flows through the municipalities of Varde and Esbjerg, forming the boundary between them along parts of its course.

Men at Sea or Man meets the sea (Danish: Mennesket ved Havet) is a 9-metre (30 feet) tall white monument of four seated males, located west of Esbjerg next to Sædding Beach on the southwest coast of Denmark. Located opposite the Fisheries and Maritime Museum, it is one of the area's major tourist attractions, and is a landmark of Esbjerg.The sculpture was designed by Svend Wiig Hansen and installed on 28 October 1995. It was funded by the Municipality of Esbjerg, Statens Kunstfond (an art fund), and multiple private sponsors, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the municipality in 1994.The artist's original idea for the location of the sculpture was Grenen, north of Skagen. The monument can be seen from ships leaving or entering Esbjerg harbour.

The Lightship Museum (Danish: Museumsfyrskib) in the harbour of Esbjerg in southern Denmark consists of a private museum open to the public on board the Horns Rev lightship. Dating from 1912, the Horns Rev, also known as Motorfyrskibet Nr. I, is the world's oldest and best preserved motor lightship. It houses a highly regarded exhibition of life and work on board.

Guldager station is a railway station serving the railway town of Ravnsbjerg in West Jutland, Denmark.Guldager station is located on the Esbjerg–Struer railway line from Esbjerg to Struer. The station opened in 1874. It offers regional rail services to Esbjerg, Varde, Skjern, and Aarhus, as well as local train services to Oksbøl and Nørre Nebel, all operated by the railway company Arriva.

Alslev is a town in southwestern Jutland in the Varde Municipality, in Region of Southern Denmark. As of 1 January 2023, it has a population of 1,283.Aslev and surrounding area was impacted by the F4 tornado that hit multiple towns on november 24, 1928. Minor damage was observed within aslev.

Granly Hockey Arena (also known as Esbjerg Skøjtehal) is an ice hockey arena located in Esbjerg, Denmark. The arena opened in 1974 and has a capacity of 4,200 people. Its primary tenant is Esbjerg IK. The arena has been home to the ice hockey club Esbjerg Elite Ishockey since 2005. The rink has also hosted international curling matches, most notably the 2011 World Women's Curling Championship and the 2015 European Curling Championships (both men and women).

Gjesing Church, also Gesing Church, (Danish: Gjesing Kirke) is a modern church in Esbjerg in the southwest of Jutland, Denmark. Designed by architects Niels Munk and Keld Wohlert, the red-brick building with a steeply pitched roof was completed in 1983.

Blue Water Dokken is a multi-purpose indoor arena in Esbjerg, Denmark. Its best known tenant is the women's handball club Team Esbjerg, one of the top teams of the Danish championship, that also regularly plays in Europe, having reached the EHF Cup final in 2014. Beside handball it also hosts other indoor sports as well as concerts, shows and others.
