Varde Municipality (Danish: Varde Kommune) is a kommune in the Region of Southern Denmark on the west coast of the Jutland peninsula in southwest Denmark. Its mayor is Mads Sørensen, a member of the Venstre (Liberal Party) political party. The main town and site of its municipal council is the town of Varde. It covers an area of 1255.79 km2 with a population of 49,995 (2023). On 1 January 2007 Varde municipality was, as a result of Kommunalreformen ("The Municipal Reform" of 2007), merged with the existing Blaabjerg, Blåvandshuk, most of Helle (Grimstrup parish, a part of the former Helle Municipality, merged with Esbjerg Municipality), and Ølgod municipalities to form a new Varde municipality. Årre is also located in Varde.

Varde is a Danish city in southwestern Jutland and is the primary city in the municipality of Varde, in Region of Southern Denmark. In 2015 municipality changed its motto to "We in nature" to emphasize its rural atmosphere. The town has an old market environment and is located by Varde stream/river and is a short distance away from the beaches by the North Sea. These features make it a tourist destination. The age of Varde is not known precisely, but it is mentioned in written sources from 1107 A.D. and is therefore thought have been founded sometime in the early Middle Ages.

It is located in central Varde, immediately adjacent to the Varde bus station. It lies on the southeastern edge of the historic town centre, from which it is separated by the Varde River. Varde station is a railway junction, which is located on the Esbjerg–Struer railway line from Esbjerg to Struer, and is the terminus of the Varde–Nørre Nebel railway line from Varde to Nørre Nebel. The station opened in 1874. It offers regional rail services to Aarhus, Esbjerg, Herning and Skjern, and local train services to Oksbøl and Nørre Nebel, operated by the railway company Arriva.The station building from 1874 by the Danish architect Niels Peder Christian Holsøe was listed in 1992.
