Calgary Victoria Park was a provincial electoral district in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, mandated to return a single member to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta using the first past the post method of voting from 1967 to 1971.The riding existed for four years and would be contested once for the 1967 election. After which the Alberta Legislature passed the 1970 An Act to amend The Election Act and The Legislative Assembly Act to redraw provincial electoral districts. Calgary Centre and Calgary Victoria Park were split between Calgary-Buffalo, Calgary-Mountain View, Calgary-Bow, Calgary-Millican and Calgary-North Hill.The riding was named after the community of Victoria Park.

The Red Mile is the name given to a stretch of 17 Avenue SW in Calgary, Alberta, Canada during the Calgary Flames 2004 Stanley Cup playoff run, which ended with a loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning in seven games in the finals. It gained worldwide notoriety both for the relative lack of violence while upwards of 55,000 fans celebrated their team's success. The 'Red' originates from the home team colour of the Calgary Flames' jerseys, red, similarly characterized by the 'Sea of Red' seen at many home games in the Saddledome; 'Sea of Red' and 'C of Red' (for the Flames' flaming C) is a play on words.

CNOOC Petroleum North America ULC, formerly known as Nexen, is a Canadian oil and gas company based in Calgary, Alberta. Lougheed House, or as it was originally known Beaulieu, (French meaning "beautiful place") is a National Historic Site located in the Beltline district of Calgary, Alberta. Originally constructed in 1891 as a home for Senator James Alexander Lougheed KCMG PC KC and his spouse Isabella Clarke Hardisty, the structure has since become an iconic heritage building in Calgary. Lougheed House is operated by Lougheed House Conservation Society, an independent, non-profit society devoted to the restoration and public enjoyment of the historic house and its Gardens.Over its long history, Lougheed House served many roles, has been a family residence, a training centre for young women, a women's military barracks and a Red Cross blood donor clinic. Then, for many years, it sat empty — cared for, but unused until its restoration started in 2000.

801 Seventh Avenue S.W., commonly known as the Nexen Building, is a high rise office building in downtown Calgary, Alberta, Canada.It is a 37-storey skyscraper, with a height of 153 m (502 ft). It was designed by CPV Group Architects and Engineers Ltd and built by CANA Construction Company Limited. The late-modernist building was completed in 1982. The Nexen Building employs a composite stub-girder steel-frame floor system, originally developed in part by Joseph Colaco.It is unique in that it is one of the few buildings in Calgary that do not follow the traditional grid pattern of the downtown core. Instead of facing south–north, or east–west, it stands diagonally.

The Downtown West End is a neighbourhood within the western portions of downtown Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It is bounded to the north by the Bow River, to the east by 9th Street W, to the south by the CPR Tracks and to the west by 14th Street W. West End is a high density residential community, largely made up of condominiums and apartment buildings, with only 25 single-family detached homes remaining in the neighbourhood. Elveden Centre is a three-tower office building located at 717 7th Avenue Southwest in Calgary, Alberta. Designed by Alberta architectural firm Rule Wynn and Rule and built in three phases between 1959 and 1964, it is one of Calgary's best examples of International-style architecture.

Downtown West–Kerby station is a CTrain station in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It is located in the free-fare zone on the 7 Avenue transit-only corridor. It is the only station in the downtown corridor that is exclusively for the Blue Line. A public preview occurred on December 8, 2012, and the station opened for revenue service on December 10, 2012.This station replaces the former centre-loading 10 Street SW platform and relocated one block to the west. Initially, the name of this new dual side-loading platform was to be just 11 Street SW. However, Calgary City Hall changed the name to its present form because of the history of the Kerby family name in this location and the proximity to the Kerby Centre (a major social services centre primarily for seniors). The only other two-platform station in downtown is the City Hall station at the eastern end of the 7 Avenue SW transit mall. As part of the Calgary Transit Seventh Avenue refurbishment project Downtown West-Kerby has been built to accommodate 4-car consists. This station serves mainly the Downtown West End community, both residential and businesses.

Western Canada High School is a public high school in Calgary, Alberta that has operated since 1929. The high school was antedated by Western Canada College, a boys' preparatory school in the style of a British public school that opened in 1903. The College existed until the end of the 1926 academic year when it closed due to financial problems. The Calgary Board of Education purchased the property that year, and by September 1929 completed a group of new school buildings on the site. From 1929 to 1935 academic and technical schools operated independently on the Western property, until which time they merged under a single administration. Western Canada is one of Calgary's oldest and most prestigious educational institutions. Given its proximity to the historic upper-class neighbourhoods of Mount Royal, Elbow Park, Roxboro, and Rideau Park, it has long been associated with the city's elite and establishment. Western Canada graduates have gone on to prolific careers in politics, law, sport, and the arts.

Western Canadian Place is an office tower complex located in the downtown core of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It consists of two buildings, the taller North Tower and the shorter South Tower. It was designed by the architectural firm, Cohos Evamy (the same firm who designed Bankers Hall - East and Bankers Hall - West in Calgary) in late modernist style. The office complex was purchased in 2004 for $230,675,000 by bcIMC and is run for them by GWL Realty Advisors, one of the firms involved in building the structure. It is the headquarters of Husky Energy and also has offices of APA Corporation.

Calgary Roman Catholic Separate School District No. 1 or the Calgary Catholic School District (CSSD) is the Roman Catholic separate school board in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It also serves the neighbouring communities of Airdrie, Chestermere, Cochrane and Rocky View County. The CSSD receives funding for students from the provincial government of Alberta.
