801 Seventh Avenue S.W., commonly known as the Nexen Building, is a high rise office building in downtown Calgary, Alberta, Canada.It is a 37-storey skyscraper, with a height of 153 m (502 ft). It was designed by CPV Group Architects and Engineers Ltd and built by CANA Construction Company Limited. The late-modernist building was completed in 1982. The Nexen Building employs a composite stub-girder steel-frame floor system, originally developed in part by Joseph Colaco.It is unique in that it is one of the few buildings in Calgary that do not follow the traditional grid pattern of the downtown core. Instead of facing south–north, or east–west, it stands diagonally.

CNOOC Petroleum North America ULC, formerly known as Nexen, is a Canadian oil and gas company based in Calgary, Alberta. Originally the Canadian subsidiary of US-based Occidental Petroleum (known as Canadian Occidental Petroleum or CanOxy), it became an independent company, Nexen, in 2000. Nexen was acquired by Hong Kong-based CNOOC Limited in 2013, and was rebranded under the current name at the end of 2018. It has three growth strategies as of 2013: oil sands and shale gas in western Canada as well as conventional exploration and development primarily in the North Sea, offshore in West Africa, and deepwater exploration in the Gulf of Mexico.

The Petrofina Building, also known as the Fina Building or Petro Fina Building, is an 11-story structure located at 736 8 Avenue SW in downtown Calgary, Alberta. Completed in 1960, was originally constructed as an office tower for the Antwerp-based Petrofina which utilized it as the Calgary headquarters for its Canadian subsidiary, Canadian Fina Oil Limited. It continued to be used as an office tower until the early 2020s but began suffering from vacancy issues. In 2025, it was converted into a residential building with 103 units.

Western Canadian Place is an office tower complex located in the downtown core of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It consists of two buildings, the taller North Tower and the shorter South Tower. It was designed by the architectural firm, Cohos Evamy (the same firm who designed Bankers Hall - East and Bankers Hall - West in Calgary) in late modernist style. The office complex was purchased in 2004 for $230,675,000 by bcIMC and is run for them by GWL Realty Advisors, one of the firms involved in building the structure. It is the headquarters of Husky Energy and also has offices of APA Corporation.

The Barron Building is an eleven-storey office tower located at 610 8th Avenue Southwest in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Designed by architect Jack Cawston and built between 1949 and 1951, it is one of Canada's foremost examples of Art Moderne-style architecture. In 2003 it was named by the Alberta Association of Architects as Significant Alberta Architecture.

The Southam Building was a ten-storey office tower located at 130 7th Avenue Southwest in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Designed by Montreal architectural firm Brown and Vallance and built between 1912 and 1913, the Southam Building was one of Calgary's best examples of Gothic Revival architecture. Between 1913 and 1932 the building housed the offices of the Calgary Daily Herald, during which time it was also known as the Herald Building. It later served as a Greyhound Bus terminal and was known as the Greyhound Building. The Southam Building was demolished in 1972. The Southam Building was one of two buildings at the intersection of 1st Street South West and 7th Avenue South West built contemporaneously by the Southam Company, the other being the Southam Chambers.

Country 105 has been awarded Station of the Year several times, most recently in 2019.A transmitter located in Banff, Alberta, rebroadcasts the station at 93.3 FM. In December 2015, CKRY launched HD Radio services, becoming the first station in Alberta to do so. Their HD2 sub-channel airs a simulcast of sister station CHQR. On April 1. 2016, Corus acquired Shaw Media, giving CKRY two TV stations (CISA and CICT) for additional sister networks. CKRY is simulcast across Canada on Bell Satellite TV satellite channel 968.
