Aquebogue () is a census-designated place (CDP) roughly corresponding to the hamlet by the same name in the Town of Riverhead in Suffolk County, on Long Island, in New York, United States. The CDP's population was 2,438 at the 2010 census.Aquebogue is part of Long Island's North Fork wine region and is home to such wineries as Paumanouk Vineyards.

Northville is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) in the Town of Riverhead in Suffolk County, on Long Island, in New York, United States. The CDP population was 1,340 at the 2010 census. Between 1921 and 1930, it was an incorporated village known originally as the Incorporated Village of Sound Avenue, and from 1927 to 1930 as the Incorporated Village of Northville.

The North Fork is a 30-mile- (48 km) long peninsula in the northeast part of Suffolk County, New York, U.S., roughly parallel with a longer peninsula known as the South Fork, both on the East End of Long Island. Although the peninsula begins east of Riverhead hamlet, the term North Fork can also refer collectively to the towns of Riverhead and Southold in their entirety.Beginning about 75 miles (120 kilometers) east of Manhattan, the North Fork is the easterly part of the North Shore of Long Island. Big Duck Ranch, also known as the Maurer Duck Farm, is a historic ranch located in Flanders, Suffolk County, New York. It operated as a duck ranch and retail store that sold duck products from 1936 to 1984. The principal building on the site is the separately listed Big Duck.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2008 as part of plans to build a heritage park, picnic area, museum and rest stop. The Big Duck Ranch hosts various events, such as historic car shows, and is open year-round.

Riverhead is a town in Suffolk County, New York, United States, on the north shore of Long Island. Since 1727, Riverhead has been the county seat of Suffolk County, though most county offices are in Hauppauge. As of the 2020 census, the population was 35,902. The town rests on the mouth of the Peconic River, from which it derives its name. The smaller hamlet of Riverhead lies within it, and is the town's principal economic center. The town is 166 miles (267 km) southwest of Boston via the Orient Point-New London Ferry, and is 76 miles (123 km) northeast of New York City. The Big Duck is a ferrocement building in the shape of a duck located in Flanders, New York, on Long Island. It was originally built in 1931 by duck farmer Martin Maurer in nearby Riverhead, and used as a shop to sell ducks and duck eggs. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1997. It is a principal building on the Big Duck Ranch, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.

Long Island Aquarium (formerly Atlantis Marine World) is an aquarium that opened in 2000 on Long Island in Riverhead, New York, United States. One of its biggest attractions is a 20,000-US-gallon (76,000 L) coral reef display tank, which is one of the largest all-living coral displays in the Western Hemisphere.

WRIV (1390 AM) is a radio station licensed to Riverhead, New York. Established in 1955, the station broadcasts an adult standards format to eastern Long Island. The station, which has been owned since 1987 by Crystal Coast Communications, has daytime power of 1,000 watts and 64 watts at night.

James Benjamin Homestead is a historic home located at Flanders in Suffolk County, New York. It consists of a main section, built about 1785, which is a two-story, center-entrance residence, and one- and two-story rear additions, built about 1900. Also on the property is a small, late 19th-century barn.The house is hidden behind trees along New York State Route 24 and is a waterfront property along Reeves Bay, a segment of Flanders Bay, which is located between the Peconic River and the Great Peconic Bay. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.
