Jimmy John's Field is a baseball field in Utica, Michigan, home to four teams that play in the United Shore Professional Baseball League (USPBL), an independent baseball league. It opened on May 30, 2016. Naming rights were purchased by Jimmy John's, a sandwich restaurant chain.

Thelma G. Spencer Park is a city park owned and operated by the city of Rochester Hills, Michigan - a northern suburb on the outskirts of Metro Detroit. The UCS Alternative Learning Center, or ALC, is an alternative school located in Sterling Heights, Michigan. The school serves students in grades 9–12 who are unable to attend a traditional high school in the school district. The center also operates as the district's summer school location. District students can either graduate directly from the ALC, or can use the center as a means of improving attendance or Michigan Educational Assessment Program (MEAP) scores, or to regain lost credits to graduate from one of the traditional high schools.The ALC is a Title I school under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act.

The Clinton–Kalamazoo Canal is a canal in Michigan that was abandoned after being only partially completed. The canal was to connect Lake St. Clair with Lake Michigan. Project backers were inspired by the success of the Erie Canal in New York, which was completed in 1825. After gaining statehood in 1837, Michigan elected its first governor, Stevens Thomson Mason, who initiated an ambitious program of internal improvements, including three railroads and two canals. On March 21, 1837, the Legislature authorized Governor Mason to contract a loan for the construction of the canal from Mt. Clemens to Rochester, a railroad from Shelby to Detroit, a railroad from Detroit across the State (the Michigan Central) and a railroad from Port Huron into the interior, to be known as the Port Huron & Grand River road. In the spring of 1838, a Board of Commissioners composed of seven men, was appointed to take charge of the canal work.

The Sterling Heights Assembly Plant (abbrevriated SHAP), is a 5,000,000 sq ft (460,000 m2) automotive manufacturing factory in Sterling Heights, Michigan currently operated by Stellantis North America.

The Big Beaver Airport, formerly (IATA: 3BB), was a small suburban general aviation airport located at the corners of Big Beaver Road and John R Road in Troy, Michigan. It was created in 1946 as an auxiliary airfield with a 2,400 ft (220 m²) gravel runway. By the 1970s, the main airstrip was converted to asphalt and a 2,100 ft (200 m²) sod runway was added. Flight training was done in Aeronca 7AC and Cessna 150/152 aircraft. Rentals later included a Piper PA-23, Cessna 172 Skyhawks and a Cessna 172RG Cutlass. The airfield closed in 1997. Originally the John Main family farm, it was owned and operated by his surviving daughter, Miss Anna Main, until her death. As she was never married and had no children, the city of Troy reached an agreement to let her operate the field until she died, at which time the city would acquire the property.The airfield has since been developed into various office buildings and small industrial centers.
