Almarestäket's castle

Almarestäket, or Stäket, is a strait at the inlet of Lake Mälaren in mid-east Sweden. A fortress existed there between about 1370 and 1517. A place mentioned as Stocksund by Old Norse author Snorre Sturlasson was once believed to be located here, but is now believed to have been located in Norrström, 2 km (1.2 mi) to the west. The strait was of importance before Stockholm was founded in the 14th century, as it guarded the waterway to the significant Swedish medieval cities Uppsala and Sigtuna. For instance, an attack on Sigtuna by Baltic Vikings in 1187 led to a battle at Almarestäket, resulting in the death of Archbishop Johannes.

Kallhäll is a neighbourhood in Järfälla Municipality, Stockholm County. It is a suburban part of Stockholm urban area with a population of 12,000 inhabitants as of 2011 (including Stäket). Kallhäll started as an industrial suburb when the industrialist Erik Bolinder decided to move his Bolinders Mechanical Shops to Kallhäll from Kungsholmen in central Stockholm. Housing for employees was built, thus expanding Kallhäll. The Bolinder factory structures remain today, encircled by expensive, modern lakeside residences. A second era of expansion took place in the 1960s when Kallhäll was included in the Swedish government's great effort to reduce the lack of housing, Miljonprogrammet (The Million Programme). The tall, long, multiple-story buildings of the 1960s-70s dominate Kallhäll to this day. Kallhäll has a station on the Stockholm commuter rail network, 21.1 km north-west of Stockholm Central Station.

Stäketskogen Nature Reserve (Swedish: Stäketskogens naturreservat) is a nature reserve in Upplands-Bro Municipality, Stockholm County in Sweden. The nature reserve has been created to protect an area of old-growth mixed coniferous forest. The area is hilly, with glacial till, and has been subjected to a very low degree of forestry. It is a known habitat for several species of endangered insects and bracket fungi.

Görväln House (Swedish pronunciation: [ˈjœ̂rːvɛln]; Görvälns Slott) is a manor house at Järfälla Municipality in Stockholm County, Sweden. Görväln House is located at Görväln, a bay of lake Mälaren. The manor is now owned by Järfälla Municipality and since 2008 has been used as a hotel and restaurant.

Kungsängen (English: King’s Meadow) is a locality and the seat of Upplands-Bro Municipality, Stockholm County, Sweden with 9,382 inhabitants in 2010.

Upplands-Bro Municipality (Upplands-Bro kommun) is a municipality in Stockholm County in east central Sweden. Its seat is located in the town of Kungsängen. The municipality was formed in 1952 through the amalgamation of five rural municipalities in Uppsala County. In 1971 it was transferred to Stockholm County.

The Life Guards (Swedish: Livgardet, designation LG) is a combined Swedish Army cavalry/infantry regiment. Its responsibilities include the defence of Stockholm as well as provision of the royal guard of honour for the King of Sweden and the Stockholm Palace. With traditions dating from 1521, the regiment is one of the oldest military units in continuous operational existence in the world. It was established in its present form in July 2000, following a merger of the Svea Life Guards and the Life Guard Dragoons. Headquarters are mainly located in Brunna north of Kungsängen in Upplands-Bro Municipality and at the "Cavalry Barracks 1" in central Stockholm.

The Svea Life Guards (Swedish: Svea livgarde), also I 1, was a Swedish Army infantry regiment that was active in various forms 1521–2000. The unit was based in the Stockholm Garrison in Stockholm and belonged to the King's Life and Household Troops (Kungl. Maj:ts Liv- och Hustrupper) until 1974.

Brunna is a locality and a suburb of Metropolitan Stockholm situated in Upplands-Bro Municipality, Stockholm County, Sweden with 3,925 inhabitants in 2010.Brunna was chosen as one of the cities to potentially host the proposed "Kommunturnering," a football tournament among the municipalities that make up Stockholm County, if it were to be held in the Upplands-Bro.

Järfälla Municipality (Swedish: Järfälla kommun) is a municipality in Stockholm County in east central Sweden, and is considered a suburb of Stockholm. Its seat is located in Jakobsberg, part of the Stockholm urban area. Järfälla has not been amalgamated with other municipalities in the two local government reforms carried out during the 20th century. The Stäket area in the north was, however, added in 1952. It is located about 20 km north of Stockholm, with a part situated by the shore of Lake Mälaren. It takes about 20 minutes to reach downtown Stockholm by Stockholm commuter rail.

Uppland Runic Inscription 92 is carved on a rune that now stands in the park at Jakobsberg folk highschool (Jakobsbergs folkhögskola) in Jakobsberg, in Järfälla Municipality just north of Stockholm. The rock is lightgrey granite.
