Grimsta Nature Reserve

Kanaanbadet (Kanaan beach), is a public beach by the lake Mälaren (a lake located outside Stockholm, Sweden). The beach is not far west of Blackeberg in the Hässelby-Vällingby area and is a part of the Grimsta nature reserve. The biblical name Kanaan was used for the first time in around 1730 and comes from an old croft that was built on the beach. By the end of the 18th century, a bigger house was built and it was later transformed into a tavern. The old tavern was torn down in 1881 and "the king of Swedish snuff" Knut Ljunglöf built a house & since 1952 it has been known as the Kanaan Cafe. Nowadays the beach is a popular place to go for people living west of Stockholm and it is often crowded on hot summer days. There is one cafeteria, a mini golf court and a small diving tower. Sweden's first youth center was opened here in 1933 and during World War II it was a standby station for officers. Kanaan swimming society was named after the beach when the club was founded in 1958. The club nowadays have their activities in different indoor pools around the west side. Stockholm's canoeing club Kanaanbadet has their club/boat house next to the beach. During the winter many upper secondary schools have their winter sports by and on the lake. Kannan's allotment gardens are located about 1km from the beach and consist of a field and 31 cottages surrounding it. This area was originally a camping area in the 1950s, but later became a permanent allotment with little space for gardening.

Vällingby (Swedish pronunciation: [ˈvɛ̂lːɪŋˌbyː] ) is a suburban district in Västerort in the western part of Stockholm Municipality, Sweden.

Råcksta Träsk (Swedish: "Råcksta Swamp") is a small lake in the western suburbs of Stockholm, Sweden. Notwithstanding its location in the vicinity of the Swedish capital and high levels of lead and copper, the lake is considered as an important breeding ground for frogs, of moderate interest to pleasure fishing, and of minor interest for birds. There are three other small lakes located nearby: Judarn, Kyrksjön, and Lillsjön.

Hässelby-Vällingby is a borough (stadsdelsområde) in the western part of Stockholm, Sweden. It is primarily made up of Hässelby (Gård, Strand, Villastad) and Vällingby. The other districts that make up the borough are Backlura, Kälvesta, Nälsta, Råcksta and Vinsta. As of 2004, the population is 58,796 in an area of 19.60 km2, which gives a density of 2,999.80/km2. The name is taken from Hässelby Castle (Hesselby Slott) which included large areas within the present three districts. The port of Hässelby also includes parts of Vinsta. The castle is located in the present district of Hässelby Gård but in the postcode of Vällingby.

Vällingby is a station on the Green line of the Stockholm metro. It is located in the district of Vällingby, which is part of the borough of Hässelby-Vällingby in the west of the city of Stockholm. The station is nominally above ground and has a two island platforms and three through tracks, with access from a station building spanning the tracks. This station building forms part of the cultural and retail centre of Vällingby, much of which has subsequently been built over the tracks and platforms of the metro, giving it an underground feel.The station was opened on 26 October 1952 as the west terminus of the stretch from Hötorget as provisional station and opened as a permanent station on 6 April 1954. On 1 November 1956 the line was extended further west to Hässelby gård.As part of Art in the Stockholm metro project, the station features concrete trees on the platforms, created by Casimir Djuric in 1983.The Vällingby metro depot (Vällingby t-banedepå) is located to the east of the station and accessed from the station by a grade-separated junction.

Grimsta IP is a multi-use stadium in Vällingby, Sweden. It is currently used for football matches and is the home stadium of IF Brommapojkarna. The stadium holds 5,000 people after the latest expansion. The latest expansion took place between 2015 and 2017 with the construction of the new stand that cost 57 million kronor, it includes also the construction of new locker rooms, a new press stand and a new bar. The new stand, with more than 2,000 seats, fulfills the requirement of the Swedish football association for having the license for playing in Superettan and Allsvenskan. The inauguration of the New Grimsta IP was celebrated on 8 April 2017 with the Superettan football game between IF Brommapojkarna and Örgryte (3-0) in front of 1,722 spectators.

Hässelby Palace (Hässelby slott) is a former manor located in Hässelby gård in the west part of Stockholm Municipality, Sweden. Since 2010 it has frequently been available for weddings, parties and conferences.

Johannelund metro station is a station on the Green line of the Stockholm metro. It is located in the district of Vinsta, which is part of the borough of Hässelby-Vällingby in the west of the city of Stockholm. The distance to Slussen is 17 km (11 mi).The station was inaugurated on 1 November 1956 as part of an extension from Vällingby to Hässelby gård. Up until October 1997 the station was only in use in the daytime, and was closed weekends. It is the only Stockholm metro station with side platforms instead of the island platform present at most other stations.Only 1,250 passengers travel from Johannelund station daily, making it the least used in the Stockholm metro.

Råcksta metro station is a station on the Green line of the Stockholm metro. It is located in the district of Råcksta, which is part of the borough of Hässelby-Vällingby in the west of the city of Stockholm. The station is situated on an embankment and has a single island platform, with access from a lower level station building on Jämtlandsgatan. The distance to Slussen is 14.8 km (9.2 mi).The station was inaugurated on 26 October 1952 as a part of the section of line between Hötorget and Vällingby.As part of Art in the Stockholm metro project, the walls of the ticket hall were decorated with ceramic friezes and hand-glazed tiles by Mia Göransson.The Vällingby metro depot (Vällingby t-banedepå) is located to the west of the station and accessed from the station by a simple junction.

Blackeberg metro station is a station on the Green line of the Stockholm metro. It is located in the district of Blackeberg, which is part of the borough of Bromma in the west of the city of Stockholm. The station has a single island platform, with access from a station building spanning the tracks. Two thirds of the platform is located outdoors and one third is located in a rock tunnel under Blackebergsplan. The distance to Slussen is 14.1 km (8.8 mi).The station was inaugurated on 26 October 1952 as a part of the section of line between Hötorget and Vällingby.The station building was designed by Peter Celsing, who was head of the architectural office of AB Stockholms Spårvägar, the city owned public transport company. The building stands on the northern side of Blackebergsplan and has entrances from the square and, at a lower level, Vinjegatan. The ticket hall floor is at the Vinjegaten level, and a monumental double staircase leads down from the Blackebergsplan entry. The hall has a square floor plan with 22 metres (72 ft) sides, and its roof is a flat, free-span dome of reinforced concrete, with an untreated surface. The building is blue-rated by the Stockholm City Museum, which means "that the buildings are judged to have extremely high cultural-historical values".The tunnel section of the station is decorated with green, blue and yellow tiles. As part of Art in the Stockholm metro project, the station received naturalistic paintings on glazed clinker by Ruben Heleander in 1987.

Blackeberg is a suburb of Stockholm built in the 1950s, and is part of the Bromma borough. Blackeberg was originally a croft first mentioned in 1599. The croft was demolished in 1861 by Knut Ljunglöf, who built a house, a stable, a mill and a saw instead. The saw and mill are now both cultural relics and are still standing in Kvarnviken for tourists to see. The city of Stockholm bought Blackeberg in the late 1940s. Three-story apartment blocks and a centre with a cinema and a library were built in the 1950s. Many people moved from the central parts of Stockholm to Blackeberg and neighbouring suburbs. Blackeberg has a metro station. It was designed by Peter Celsing and opened in 1952. The critically acclaimed vampire novel Let the Right One In as well as its movie adaptation are set in Blackeberg.
