Louis Trauth Dairy was founded in 1920 by the senior Louis Trauth. It was based in Newport, Kentucky, USA. It began from a 600-square-foot (56 m2) plant and competed with 54 other dairies in the Greater Cincinnati area. It had a modern facility covering five city blocks. There had been three multimillion-dollar expansions since 1985 to provide more efficient production and distribution of dairy products. Trauth Dairy was one of the first dairies in the area to vacuum pasteurize milk, and the first in Cincinnati to introduce tamper-evident packaging for sour cream, cottage cheese and dips. Trauth Dairy was the sole manufacturer of Fat Free plus a/B milk.In 1997, the company was sold to Suiza Food Corp for an undisclosed price. It came under the Dean Foods brand in 2001 after the company merged with Suiza Food.In 2011, the dairy closed after 91 years in business.

The York Street Historic District in Newport, Kentucky was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on May 26, 1995. Most of the buildings were built in the mid and late Victorian era. The district is bounded by Seventh Street on the north and Tenth Street on the south. The York Street Historic District, while smaller than East Row Historic District, contains a variety of interesting buildings and businesses, including some beautiful churches. The Salem United Methodist Church (now The Stained Glass Theatre), is at Eight and York. It was built in 1882 and designed by Samuel Hannaford. In 1986 Newport's Salem United Methodist Church was placed on the National Register of Historic Places. On March 10 it was damaged by a tornado. Damage estimates at the time were $210,000. The church congregation capped the steeple, repaired the holes and removed the debris, but due to a decrease in membership and a great deal left to repair, they felt it would be best to merge with another Methodist congregation, and put the church up for sale. Other churches in the district include the First Baptist Church at 8th and York Streets and the former York Street Congregational Church. The York Street International Café (Eighth and York streets) displays the original stained glass sign from its historic use as a drugstore.

Covington Holmes Junior/Senior High School in Covington, Kentucky, is the oldest public high school in Kentucky, founded as Covington Central High in 1853. It is a vital part of the Covington Independent Public Schools. Its boundary includes much of Covington (to the north) and portions of Kenton Vale and Fort Wright.

Salem Methodist Episcopal Church and Parsonage (also known as Salem United Methodist Church; Salem Methodist Church) is a historic church and parsonage at 810 York Street in Newport, Kentucky. The church was founded by the German-born pastor John George Schaal (1844–1949).It was built in 1882. In 1986, the church lost its steeple to a tornado, and the congregation then merged with Grace Methodist Episcopal Church, also in Newport. The building was sold to a performing arts organization, and currently is the venue of Stained Glass Theatre.The church was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. The structure is a contributing property to the York Street Historic District.

Newport is a home rule-class city at the confluence of the Ohio and Licking rivers in Campbell County, Kentucky. The population was 15,273 at the 2010 census. Historically, it was one of four county seats of Campbell County. Newport is a major urban center of Northern Kentucky and part of the Cincinnati metropolitan area, which includes over two million residents.

The Roman Catholic St. Mary's Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption in Covington, Kentucky, is a minor basilica in the United States. Construction of the cathedral began under the Diocese of Covington's third bishop, Camillus Paul Maes, in 1895 to replace an 1834 frame church that was inadequate for the growing congregation. Pope Pius XII elevated the cathedral to the rank of minor basilica December 8, 1953.

Covington Latin School is a co-educational Catholic college-preparatory high school in Covington, Kentucky, USA, offering a classical education. Since its inception in 1923, the school has operated under the Diocese of Covington; it is located next to the Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption.

The Monmouth Street Historic District is located in Newport, Kentucky. The district was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996. The district includes Monmouth Street, the main commercial street of the city, between Third Street (near Newport on the Levee), then south to Eleventh Street. It contains 80 acres (320,000 m2) and 94 buildings. Most of the buildings were built between 1850 and 1949. The district included 94 contributing buildings among its 143 properties, including the 1902 Carnegie library, Campbell County's first public library and a work of the Cincinnati architects Werner and Atkins.

Newport Central Catholic High School (abbreviated NewCath or NCC) is a coeducational private secondary school in Newport, Kentucky and part of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Covington. It is located in the center of Newport overlooking the Cincinnati skyline and Ohio Valley. The school is housed in a building opened in 1955 for the all-boys Newport Catholic High School, which was founded in 1929 as the effective successor to another all-boys high school established in 1896.Present-day Newport Central Catholic was founded in 1983 when Newport Catholic High merged with the all-girls Our Lady of Providence Academy, which had been founded as the Academy of Notre Dame de Providence in 1903. it serves students in grades 9-12 in the Northern Kentucky area, mostly from Campbell County. The mascot is the Thoroughbred, and the school colors are royal blue and gold. NCC is a member of the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA).

LaSalette Academy was a parochial school in Covington, Kentucky. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is at 702 Greenup Street. The former all-girls school is now LaSalette Garden Apartments.It was established in 1856. A two story building was constructed for it. It grew over time to 3-stories and a second building was added. It served as a co-ed elementary school and had a high school for girls. It integrated in 1955. The school's last class graduated in 1977 and the school building was redeveloped as senior housing.The school appeared on a postcard sent in 1911. The building is in the Licking Riverside Historic District.

The Wadsworth Electric Manufacturing Company was formed by George B. and Harry Wadsworth in 1904. George received his first patent for an electrical service entrance safety switch in 1907. This device reduced the likelihood of accident or fire and enabled homeowners to replace their own fuses. He received an additional 15 patents in the field between 1907 and 1925. Harry Wadsworth left the business in 1910.

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Covington (Latin: Dioecesis Covingtonensis) is a Roman Catholic diocese in Northern Kentucky, covering 3,359 square miles (8,700 km2) that includes the city of Covington and the Kentucky counties of Boone, Kenton, Campbell, Gallatin, Carroll, Grant, Owen, Pendleton, Harrison, Bracken, Robertson, Mason, Fleming, and Lewis. The cathedral church of the diocese is the Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption. On July 13, 2021 Pope Francis appointed Monsignor John Iffert, a priest of the Diocese of Belleville, as bishop-elect of Covington.
