Clearwater Academy International is a private school located in Clearwater, Florida. The school serves grades Pre-K to 12 in a co-educational system. It was formed in 1997 after the merger of Jefferson Academy, A To Be School, and the Renaissance Academy.The school is licenced by Applied Scholastics and uses the Study Technology by Scientology's founder L. Ron Hubbard. The school receives public funding through voucher and tax credit scholarship programs as per a 2017 Huffington Post investigation where it was disclosed the school received more than $500,000 in taxpayer money for student scholarships between 2012–2016.Clearwater Academy's football team are called the Knights and they won the 8-man football championships in 2014 and 2015, and moved to 11-to-11 in 2016.In 2017, students from the academy participated in Hurricane Harvey relief efforts in Texas.

The Flag Building, also referred to as the Super Power Building, is the largest building in Clearwater, Florida. It is owned by the Church of Scientology and was built principally to deliver the Super Power Rundown, a high-level Scientology training course intended to train Scientologists to use what Scientology describes as all of their 57 "perceptics" or senses. The interior of the building contains training suites, course rooms, theaters and various devices intended to test these "perceptics," including a "time machine", an anti-gravity simulator, an "infinite" pit, and a pain station. The complex occupies a city block at 215 South Fort Harrison Avenue. It includes a 15-story tower topped by a bronze Scientology cross visible from much of Clearwater. Construction began in 1998, was halted in 2003, and was ultimately resumed to reach substantial completion during 2011. The long delay in construction led to substantial fines being levied by the city authorities. The building is valued at $80 million and at least $145 million was raised by Church fundraising towards the project. The church denies accusations that the Flag Building's completion was deliberately delayed so that it could serve as a cash cow.The Church of Scientology announced in August 2013 that the building would be opened to the public on October 6, 2013, with a dedication ceremony that the church estimated would attract approximately 10,000 Scientologists. However, a month later it emerged that the Church had canceled the ceremony and postponed the opening of the building. The building finally opened on November 17, 2013.

The Mount Olive African Methodist Episcopal Church (also known as the Hope Henry AME Church) is a historic church in Clearwater, Pinellas County, Florida. It is located at 600 Jones Street. On February 3, 2000, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

The Bilheimer Capitol Theatre (formerly known as the Capitol Theatre and Royalty Theatre) is a historic theater in Clearwater, Florida. It is one of the six venues that compose the Richard B. Baumgardner Center for the Performing Arts. The theater has a seating capacity of 750 people.The theater is owned by the City of Clearwater and managed by Ruth Eckerd Hall. It opened in 1921 for vaudeville and movies. After it struggled economically, it was renamed the Royalty Theatre. It was restored in 1999-2000 and reopened. It was bought by the City of Clearwater in 2008 and run by Ruth Eckerd Hall for acts such as the punk rock group Henry Rollins, comedian Steven Wright and singer Richard Marx. In 2013, the City of Clearwater launched an elaborate $11 million restoration of the theater as part of a broader downtown revitalization. The theater reopened in 2014 to much acclaim and financial success. Since the reopening that theater has played host to acts such as Jay Leno and B.B. King.

The Fort Harrison Hotel serves as the flagship building of the Flag Land Base, the Church of Scientology's spiritual headquarters in Clearwater, Florida, US. It is owned and operated by the Church of Scientology Flag Service Organization, Inc., a subsidiary of the Church of Scientology International. The hotel has 11 stories and features 220 rooms, three restaurants, a swimming pool and a ballroom. The building is connected by a skywalk to the Flag Building.

Clearwater station was an Amtrak train station in Clearwater, Florida, served by the Floridian (from Chicago) until 1979 and the Silver Service (from New York City) until February 1, 1984 (when all rail service to and from St. Petersburg was terminated). Thereafter, it continued to be used for Amtrak Thruway motor coach service until 1995, connecting to Amtrak Silver Service trains at Tampa Union Station.The station was originally built by the Seaboard Air Line Railroad (SAL) in 1922. From the 1920s to the 1960s, it was served by daily long-distance SAL passenger trains, such as the Seabreeze Rail Special in the early 1930s and later the Silver Meteor and Silver Star between New York City and St. Petersburg. Following the SAL-Atlantic Coast Line Railroad (ACL) merger on July 1, 1967, the combined Seaboard Coast Line (SCL) closed the nearby ACL station in Clearwater, consolidating passenger service at the former SAL station. The SCL also ran the Champion through the station after the merger. Rail passenger train service at Clearwater began operating under Amtrak auspices on May 1, 1971, using SCL's tracks, which became the CSX Clearwater Subdivision on November 1, 1980.The former Seaboard Air Line Railroad station was turned into a hot dog shop. The hot dog shop was demolished in 2003 and soon after the 7-Eleven was built.

The Clearwater Public Library System (CPLS) is a public library system with five branches that provides service to the citizens of Clearwater, Florida and Pinellas County. The library system was founded in 1911. It is a member of the Pinellas Public Library Cooperative.

The Old Pinellas County Courthouse is a historic county courthouse in Clearwater, Florida, USA. It was designed by Francis J. Kennard and constructed in 1918. It replaced a hastily constructed structure created to help establish Clearwater as the county seat. It is located at 315 Court Street. On June 25, 1992, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

The Fred Marquis Pinellas Trail is a rail trail in Pinellas County, Florida. It stretches from Tarpon Springs in the north to St. Petersburg in the south, passing through the towns of Palm Harbor, Dunedin, Belleair, Clearwater, Largo, Seminole, South Pasadena, and Gulfport. It is utilized for walking, jogging, and cycling. Some trail users are able to commute to work using the Pinellas Trail instead of a motor vehicle. The distance that the main trail currently covers is 47 miles (76 km).

The South Ward School is an historic building in Clearwater, Florida. It is located at 610 South Fort Harrison Avenue. On June 18, 1979, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. It is now the home to the Clearwater Historical Society Museum and Cultural Center.

Clearwater Athletic Field was a stadium in Clearwater, Florida. It was first used by professional baseball teams for spring training in 1923 and was the Phillies' first spring training ballpark in Clearwater. The grandstand sat approximately 2,000 and bleachers increased capacity to close to 3,000. Home plate was located on Pennsylvania Avenue, which ran south to north along the third base line, near Seminole Street. Left field ran parallel to Palmetto Street, and right field ran parallel to Greenwood Ave. The grandstand was destroyed by fire in April 1956.The North Greenwood Recreation and Aquatic Complex now stands on the site of ballpark. On March 19, 2016, the site of the ballpark was recognized as a Florida Heritage Site and the location added to the state's heritage map.

Church of the Ascension is an Episcopal church in Clearwater, Florida. Its name comes from the words of one of the founders, "It was a miracle the way our church did ascend from our prayers". The church is located in the Harbor Oaks Residential District and is considered by many locally to be an important historic site. The church also has a 75-foot-tall (23 m) carillon, the Betty Jane Dimmitt Memorial Carillon, which has 49 bells and is one of just four such towers in the state of Florida. In addition to the organ and the carillon, the church's current building, built in gothic style around 1925, features 28 stained glass windows (the oldest of which dates back to 1895) which feature, among other things, the Ascension of Jesus Christ (in a large window over the altar), the Ten Commandments, the parable of the Good Shepherd, the parable of the Lost Son, and the "war window" where a candle is lit in remembrance of the Iraq war. Many have gone to pray at this window for loved ones involved in the war.
