Thorstrand is a historic estate located in Madison, Wisconsin. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980 and on the State Register of Historic Places in 1989.

The John and Nell Commons House is a large hilltop bungalow built in 1913 in Madison, Wisconsin, from which UW professor John R. Commons wrote influential books on economics, helped craft Progressive public policy, and mentored a generation of economists. The house itself was designed by Cora Tuttle - not a formally trained architect, but the first woman to practice architecture in Madison. In 1985 the house was added to the National Register of Historic Places.

Middleton High School is a public secondary school located in the city of Middleton, Wisconsin. It was established in 1879. Part of the Middleton-Cross Plains School District, the school serves more than 2,000 students in grades 9 to 12 from the Middleton and Cross Plains areas. Middleton High School's mascot is the cardinal. The school colors are white and maroon. Its athletic teams play at the WIAA Division 1 level in the WIAA Big Eight Conference. Middleton High School is often praised for having highly rated STEM and athletics programs.In 2021, in a report by U.S. News & World Report, Middleton High School was named as the best high school in Dane County and it was also named 11th best high school out of around 540 in the state of Wisconsin.

The Dr. Newman C. Rowley House is a fine brick house built in 1868 in Middleton, Wisconsin. In 1999 it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is now a museum of the Middleton Area Historic Society.

The Spring Harbor Mound Group consists of two Native American mounds located north of Spring Harbor Middle School in Madison, Wisconsin. The site includes a bear-shaped effigy mound on the grounds of the school and a linear mound on private property. The mounds were constructed between roughly 800 and 1100 A.D. by Late Woodland people. White settlers first discovered the mounds in the late 19th century, and surveys done between 1905 and 1910 reported that the group had four to six mounds. By 1989, when the Wisconsin Historical Society surveyed the group, all but two of the mounds had been destroyed by development.The site was added to the National Register of Historic Places on June 7, 1991.

The Middleton Depot is a railway depot built by the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad (also known as The Milwaukee Road) in 1895 in Middleton, Wisconsin. In 1999 it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.In 1841 the first Europeans settled around what would become Middleton. The city began to take form fifteen years later when the Milwaukee and Mississippi Railroad built tracks through the area in 1856. That year the village of Middleton Station was platted around the tracks. The following year a general store was built near the place where Parmenter Street now crosses the tracks, establishing this junction as the commercial hub of the village. Warehouses, grain elevators, hotels, stores steadily sprouted around this shipping terminal, and houses around them.Shortly after the railroad came through, B.C. Slaughter built a warehouse just north of the tracks which served as the first railroad depot and post office. In 1869 the railroad built its own depot, which served until it burned in 1895. That same year the railroad built a replacement depot which survives to this day.The depot is largely one of the standard designs used by the Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul at that time—a rectangular single-story wood-frame building with a hip roof and broad overhanging eaves supported by knee braces. The roof's ridge was originally decorated with wooden cresting, but that has been removed. The depot was originally 24 by 60 feet, containing a passenger waiting room, a freight room and a station agent's office. The freight room was extended by twenty-four feet some time after 1919.The depot served passenger trains until 1960 and was used as a freight depot until 1975. The depot was sold to the City of Middleton, which uses it as a senior citizen's center. In 1999 it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places because of its architecture and also because of its association with the development of railroads in Middleton and Wisconsin.

The National Mustard Museum (formerly the Mount Horeb Mustard Museum) is a museum near U.S. 14 in the heart of downtown Middleton, Wisconsin. It boasts a large display of prepared mustards. It is often featured in lists of unusual museums in the United States. The museum was conceived and founded by Barry Levenson, former Assistant Attorney General of Wisconsin. It centers on a mustard collection he began in 1986 while despondent over the failure of his favorite baseball team, the Boston Red Sox, to win the 1986 World Series. The initial dozen jars have grown to a collection of more than 5,300 mustards from more than 60 countries, along with hundreds of items of mustard memorabilia and exhibits depicting the use of mustard through history. The museum opened its doors in Mount Horeb, Wisconsin, on April 6, 1992. It moved across the street to a larger site in October 2000. In November 2009, the museum moved to Middleton and changed its name to the present one. Admission is free of charge, and the museum is open between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., though it is closed on Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day.The museum's gift shop occupies about half of its floor space and offers free tasting of mustard samples from a refrigerated case containing scores of varieties; the museum also operates a mail-order mustard business. Among the displays are sweet hot mustards, fruit mustards, hot pepper mustards, horseradish mustards, and spirit mustards. The collection includes a large variety of French and English mixes, but many other countries are also represented.In 2002, the museum was showcased on the Food Network television series Unwrapped. The museum and its curator have also been featured on National Public Radio's Morning Edition broadcast of July 29, 2010, and Weekend Edition Saturday on February 18, 1995 (when it was located in Mount Horeb).

Merrill Springs Mound Group II is a group of Native American mounds at 5030-5046 Lake Mendota Drive in Madison, Wisconsin. The group includes six to eight mounds and a nearby village site; it originally included up to 13-20 mounds, but many were destroyed by residential development in the area. It is one of four groups of mounds identified in an 1888 survey of the Merrill Springs resort area, which gives the group its name. The site includes two bear-shaped effigy mounds and an assortment of linear and conical mounds. The mounds were built by Late Woodland people between roughly 800 and 1100 A.D. The village site was also inhabited during the Late Woodland period, and projectile points and bones have been found there.The site was added to the National Register of Historic Places on June 7, 1991.

Capital Brewery is a brewery in Middleton, Wisconsin, USA. Founded on March 14, 1984, by Madison, Wisconsin entrepreneur Ed Janus, it is in a former egg processing plant. The company first began production in spring, 1986, and now produces over 20,000 barrels of beer annually. It produces 24 distinct beers, of which nine are annuals, five are seasonals, and ten are limited release. Most are made using the strict Reinheitsgebot guidelines. The company's brews have won awards at a number of competitions, including the Great American Beer Festival, and The Great Taste of the Midwest. The brewery was awarded the distinction of Madison's Favorite Local/Regional Beer from 1998 to 2004 in The Capital Times/Wisconsin State Journal Reader's Choice Awards. The company has received over 240 major awards in both domestic and international competitions in over 15 categories, and the flagship Wisconsin Amber beer has been available in cans since 1997. Capital Brewery was named "America's #1 Rated Brewery" by the Beverage Testing Institute's World Beer Championships in 1998. The brewery was also rated #7 in the world at this time. Capital was named the Grand National Champion in the 2013 US Open Beer Championship, winning six medals.Capital Brewery’s beers are currently distributed in four Midwestern States: Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, and Minnesota. Capital Brewery has an indoor Bier Stube as well as a large outdoor Bier Garten (a.k.a. 'Middleton's Backyard') that is host to events throughout the year. One of the more popular is Bockfest, held on the last Saturday in February. Bockfest celebrates and ushers in the annual release of Capital Blonde Doppelbock, Capital's most highly decorated brew. Blonde Doppelbock has been awarded platinum six times in the past ten years at the World Beer Championships. The Capital Brewery Bike Club was formed in 2009 and currently has over 400 members. The bicycle rides are held Tuesday and Thursday evenings from April through October (weather permitting) and originate from the Bier Garten.

The Blackhawk Country Club Mound Group is a group of Native American mounds on the grounds of Blackhawk Country Club in Madison, Wisconsin. The group includes an effigy mound shaped like a flying goose, three bear-shaped effigy mounds, a panther-shaped effigy, and an assortment of linear and conical mounds. The mounds were built by Late Woodland people between 650 and 1200 A.D.; these people were part of Wisconsin's Effigy Mound Culture, which was responsible for building the many mounds that can be found throughout the state. Country club member L. J. Markwardt convinced the club to preserve the mounds and restore a damaged section of the goose in the 1970s.The site was added to the National Register of Historic Places on August 1, 1979.

High Point Christian School is a private Christian school located on the west side of Madison, Wisconsin, United States. It was founded by Middleton Baptist Church (now High Point Church) in 1974 as Middleton Christian School. HPCS is a 3K–8 school and shares its building with High Point Church. In 2012, High Point consolidated with Abundant Life Christian School to form Madison Christian Schools.

Vel Phillips Memorial High School is a public high school in Madison, Wisconsin, United States. It was established in 1966 and is part of the Madison Metropolitan School District. The school is named after Vel Phillips, an American attorney, politician, jurist, and Civil Rights activist, who served as the first female alderperson and judge in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and as Secretary of State of Wisconsin (1979-1983). Previously named James Madison Memorial High School after Founding Father James Madison, the school was unanimously renamed by the Madison Metropolitan School District board in 2021 after concern was raised by the public over Madison’s ownership of slaves.
