Bohermore (Irish: An Bóthar Mór, meaning 'the big road') is an area of Galway, Ireland. It got this name as it was the main road into Galway City from the east in medieval times. There is a large cemetery located in Bohermore known as the "New Cemetery", which contains two mortuary chapels, one Catholic and the other Protestant. People buried there include the Irish-language writer and journalist Pádraic Ó Conaire (1882-1928), Lord Haw Haw (William Joyce) (1906-1946), an Irish-American who broadcast Nazi propaganda from Germany during World War II, and Lady Gregory (1852-1932), a founding member of the Irish Literary Theatre movement, who hosted a literary and artistic salon in her house at Coole Park, in rural south Galway.

Eamonn Deacy Park, formerly known as Terryland Park, is an association football stadium in the Republic of Ireland based in the Terryland district of Galway. It is owned by the Galway Football Association and is the home ground of both Galway United and Galway W.F.C. It is named after Eamonn Deacy, a former Galway United and Aston Villa player and Republic of Ireland international. In both 2007 and 2008, the ground was voted the best surface by the FAI. The siege of Galway took place from August 1651 to 12 May 1652 during the Cromwellian conquest of Ireland. Galway was the last city held by Irish Catholic forces in Ireland and its fall signalled the end to most organised resistance to the Parliamentarian conquest of the country. The English Parliamentarians were commanded by Charles Coote, an English settler who had commanded Parliamentarian forces in the northwest of Ireland throughout the Irish Confederate Wars. Galway was garrisoned by Irish Confederate soldiers under Thomas Preston, many of whom had reached the city after an unsuccessful defence of Waterford.

The Ceannt Station Quarter (Irish: Ceathrú Staisiún Cheannt) is a proposed urban quarter for the city of Galway, County Galway, Ireland. As the name suggests, the new district had been proposed to be built around the city's rail station, Ceannt Station, which was also due to undergo a major redevelopment as part of the project. The project was "abandoned" in 2012. In early 2020, it was reported that an updated planning application for the development site was due to be lodged with Galway City Council. The updated plan, titled "Augustine Hill", would cover an eight-acre site around Ceannt Station "if planning permission is granted".
