West Reading is a borough in Berks County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 4,212 at the 2010 census. It contains a vibrant main street (Penn Avenue) and the large Reading Hospital and Medical Center. It was also the site of the VF Outlet Village, one of the largest outlet malls in the United States. The VF Outlet Village was located in the buildings of the former Berkshire Knitting Mills, which was in operation from 1908 to 1975. The VF Outlet closed in 2020.

The mission of the GoggleWorks is “to transform lives through unique interactions with art.” Located in the former Willson Goggle Factory building, GoggleWorks Center for the Arts features eight teaching studios in ceramics, hot and warm glass, metalsmithing, photography, printmaking, woodworking and virtual reality; 35 juried artist studios; and headquarters of over 40 cultural organizations. GoggleWorks also includes several exhibition galleries, a 130-seat film theatre, a bar/restaurant, and store featuring handcrafted works by over 200 artists working within the building and beyond. Admission (excluding special events) and parking are always free. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.

Keystone Hook and Ladder Company is a historic fire station located at Reading, Berks County, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1886–1887, and is a two-story, brick building in the Queen Anne style. A two-story annex was added in 1888 or 1890. The front facade features a wooden bell tower with a pyramidal roof.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

The hospital operates several residency training programs for newly graduated physicians such as internal medicine, internal medicine osteopathic, transitional year, family medicine, OB/GYN, emergency medicine, anesthesiology, general surgery, neurology, podiatric surgery & psychiatry. One year pharmacy residency is also offered. The residency programs are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. The internal medicine residency is also accredited by the American Osteopathic Association.

WRLD previously broadcast all home and away games of the Reading Fightin Phils, the Double-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, and the Reading Royals of the ECHL. Cumulus Media sold the station to Major Keystone LLC on September 24, 2021. On January 17, 2022, following the sale's completion, the then-WIOV changed its format from sports to rhythmic CHR, branded as "Loud 98.5"; the "Loud" programming, including the WQHT-based morning show Ebro in the Morning, had previously aired on W257DI (99.3 FM) and on the HD3 channel of WLEV.The station changed its call sign to WRLD on May 1, 2023.

Inter-City Bus Terminal (ICBT) was the primary regional transportation hub serving Berks County, Pennsylvania. Located in downtown Reading, ICBT had daily service to Philadelphia, New York, and Harrisburg via Greyhound Bus Lines and Klein Transportation. Until 2019, Bieber Transportation Group also served the terminal.BARTA has a hub at nearby BARTA Transit Center, but as of 2020, there is only one inter-city route (operated by Ourbus) for passengers from the Berks County area (connecting to New York, NY).The site was sold in May 2019 for use as a parking lot.

Berks Catholic High School is a four-year comprehensive coeducational Roman Catholic preparatory secondary school located in Reading, Pennsylvania, in the United States. It was formed out of a merger of Holy Name High School and Reading Central Catholic High School in 2011. It is approved and accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and the Diocese of Allentown.

Holy Name High School was a four-year comprehensive coeducational Roman Catholic preparatory/secondary school located in Reading, Pennsylvania. It was approved and accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and the Diocese of Allentown. The school's athletic rivals included Wyomissing Area High School and Reading Central Catholic High School. Following the 2010-2011 Academic Year, the Diocese of Allentown closed both Holy Name High School and Reading Central Catholic High School. The Diocese then established a new secondary school, Berks Catholic High School, which officially opened on July 1, 2011, on the site of the former Holy Name High School.

The Reading Public Museum is a museum in Reading, Pennsylvania located in the 18th Ward, along the Wyomissing Creek. The museum's permanent collection mainly focuses on art, science, and civilization and contains over 280,000 objects. It also has a planetarium (the Neag Planetarium) and a 25-acre (100,000 m2) arboretum.
