Duel — The Haunted House Strikes Back! was a dark ride at the Alton Towers theme park near the village of Alton in Staffordshire, England, opened in 2003. The ride took guests around a haunted house that was home to zombies, with guests shooting targets with laser blasters. There was a minimum height restriction of 0.9 metres with guests under 1.1 metres accompanied by an adult. It originally opened as The Haunted House in 1992, before receiving a retheme and adding the laser shooting game. In September 2022, the ride closed to be redesigned as The Curse at Alton Manor.

Doom & Sons was a former attraction in the Talbot Street area of Alton Towers theme park, Staffordshire, England. The attraction was opened in 1981 and was Alton Towers's first haunted attraction. It was a walk-through with illusions, interactive features and sensory effects. Doom & Sons closed in 1991, to be superseded by the new Haunted House the following year.

The Curse at Alton Manor is a dark ride at the Alton Towers theme park near the village of Alton in Staffordshire, England, opened in 2023. It originally opened in 1992 as The Haunted House. In 2003 it received a reworking as Duel - The Haunted House Strikes Back! with the addition of interactive laser shooting and a zombie overlay, before closing in September 2022. The ride reopened in 2023 as The Curse At Alton Manor. There is a minimum height restriction of 0.9 metres. Guests under 1.1 metres must be accompanied by an adult.

The Runaway Mine Train is a powered steel roller coaster made by MACK Rides of Germany. The ride is located in the Katanga Canyon area of Alton Towers in Staffordshire, England. The train normally makes two circuits for each ride, although on quiet days it has been known to run for three or more circuits. On 18 July 2021, the ride ran for 24 consecutive circuits after the park closed. Most passengers were guests, but after several circuits, some of the guests alighted the train, and ride operators from other areas of the park took their places. It is believed to be the record number of times anyone has ever gone around the track without getting off. The ride runs alongside the Congo River Rapids, with which it shares a tunnel section. Passengers on the two rides occasionally wave to each other if they pass in the shared tunnel. Passengers must be at least 0.9 m tall to ride with an adult, and over 1.1 m tall to ride separately. As of 2013, it is officially the park's oldest roller coaster, after The Beastie was removed prior to the 2013 season. The runaway mine train gets more intense in the cave area

Nemesis Sub-Terra is a drop tower dark ride located at Alton Towers theme park in Staffordshire, United Kingdom. The ride opened to the public on 24 March 2012. Its theme is focused on the discovery of a nest of eggs in a network of caves, an extension of the theme and concept of the park's Nemesis roller coaster that opened in 1994. After several years of operation, the ride closed abruptly in 2015 following a serious incident on The Smiler. Nemesis Sub-Terra, along with six other rides, remained closed the following season as the park transitioned into limited operation. Alton Towers later removed the attraction from its website in 2019, indicating it might be closed permanently. Following months of speculation in 2023, the park revealed that the ride was being refurbished, and it reopened on 27 May 2023.

Congo River Rapids is a river rapids ride made by Intamin. It is located in the Katanga Canyon area of Alton Towers in Staffordshire, England. The rapids comes close to the Runaway Mine Train as it passes through the tunnel. It features twin waterfalls, and boats pass between the two waterfalls, along with three wave machines positioned at strategic points around the ride. Congo River Rapids shares its name with a ride at Busch Gardens Tampa in Tampa, Florida, but it has a different layout.

Nemesis Reborn, previously known as simply Nemesis, is an inverted roller coaster located at the Alton Towers theme park in Staffordshire, England. Manufactured by Bolliger & Mabillard (B&M), the ride was designed by Werner Stengel, while overall development was overseen by attraction developer John Wardley. It opened in the Forbidden Valley (formerly Thunder Valley) area of the park on 19 March 1994. The 716-metre-long (2,349 ft) ride stands 13 metres (42.7 ft) tall and features a top speed of 81 km/h (50 mph). The four-inversion roller coaster was one of the first B&M rides to be installed outside of the United States and the first in Europe as an independent company. For the 2023 season, the ride was closed for a major refurbishment and retracking with significant overhaul of its theme. It is scheduled to reopen in 2024 as Nemesis Reborn.

Galactica (formerly known as Air) is a flying roller coaster located in the Forbidden Valley area of Alton Towers amusement park in Staffordshire, England and is the first flying coaster manufactured by Bolliger & Mabillard. Guests ride in a prone position and experience the feeling of flight by "flying" close to the ground, under footpaths, and narrowly past trees and rocks. The roller coaster originally opened as Air on 16 March 2002. Following the close of the 2015 season, the ride underwent refurbishment and reopened as Galactica on 24 March 2016. It features an 840-metre-long (920 yd) track, reaches a top speed of 75 km/h (47 mph; 21 m/s), and debuted a dedicated virtual reality experience, although this has since been removed.

Wicker Man is a wooden roller coaster at Alton Towers theme park in Staffordshire, United Kingdom. Manufactured by Great Coasters International, the £16-million ride opened to the public on 20 March 2018 following a three-day weather delay. It set several milestones among wooden coasters including the first to be built in the UK in 22 years and the first to incorporate fire. Initially codenamed "Secret Weapon 8", a traditional naming scheme for major upcoming projects at Alton Towers, its official name was revealed in January 2018.

Alton Towers Resort (UK: OL-tən) (often referred to as Alton Towers) is a theme park and resort complex in Staffordshire, England, near the village of Alton. The park is operated by Merlin Entertainments Group and incorporates a theme park, water park, mini golf and hotel complex. In 2021, it ranked first for attendance among amusement parks in the UK, with an estimated 1.8 million visitors. Originally a private estate of the Earls of Shrewsbury, Alton Towers' grounds were opened to the public in 1860 to raise funds. In the 1970s a few rides were added and some of the themed areas were developed. Inspired by Disneyland, it was transformed into a theme park in 1980 with the installation of its first roller coaster and several new rides. The park has many attractions such as Congo River Rapids, Runaway Mine Train, Nemesis Reborn, Oblivion, Galactica, The Smiler, Wicker Man, Rita and TH13TEEN. It operates a total of ten roller coasters and offers a range of accommodation and lodging options alongside the theme park. Facilities include Alton Towers Waterpark, Alton Towers Conference Centre and Extraordinary Golf. The theme park is open seasonally from mid-March to early November, whilst many of its hotels and amenities are open year-round. Special events are hosted throughout the year, including Alton Towers Scarefest (the park's Halloween event), Oktoberfest, Festival of Thrills, Summer of Fun and Mardi Gras.

Rita, formerly known as Rita: Queen of Speed, is a launched roller coaster located in the Dark Forest section of Alton Towers amusement park in Staffordshire Moorlands, England. Designed by Intamin, the Accelerator Coaster model opened to the public on 1 April 2005. It features an acceleration from 0 to 98.3 km/h (61.1 mph) in 2.5 seconds. The ride is loosely-themed to a drag racing concept, which partly changed when the section of the park transformed from "Ug Land" into the "Dark Forest" in 2010, when the ride TH13TEEN was added into that section. It is now themed as an abandoned drag racer that is used as the escape cart to escape the Dark Forest. In 2006, a similar launched roller coaster opened at Thorpe Park, called Stealth. It is also manufactured by Intamin and is faster than Rita, reaching speeds at 80 mph (130 km/h). The ride was temporarily renamed "Camilla - Queen of Speed" on 9 April 2005 to celebrate the marriage of Prince Charles to Camilla Parker Bowles. This simply involved banner signage to notify guests of the name change.

Corkscrew was a steel roller coaster located at Alton Towers theme park, near Alton in the English shire county of Staffordshire, United Kingdom. Corkscrew was manufactured for Alton Towers by Dutch company Vekoma, engineered by Werner Stengel of German Ing.-Büro Stengel GmbH (Ingenieur Büro Stengel). The coaster was located in the Ug Land area, formerly called Talbot Centre. It was the theme park's oldest ride and considered one of the greatest factor in promoting the new theme park to the British public. It was the first double-inverting coaster in the UK and Europe, and was well received publicly in the 1980s.
