Bismarckplatz, Heidelberg

The Heidelberg University Faculty of Law (also known as Heidelberg Law School), located in Heidelberg, Germany, is one of the original four constituent faculties of Heidelberg University. Founded in 1386 by Rupert I, Elector Palatine, it is the oldest law school in Germany.

The Prinzhorn Collection is a German collection of art made by mental health patients, housed at the Heidelberg University Hospital. The collection comprises over 20,000 works, including works by Emma Hauck, Agnes Richter and August Natterer.

The Zentrum für Astronomie der Universität Heidelberg (Center for Astronomy of Heidelberg University) in Heidelberg, Germany, founded in 2005, is an association of three, formerly state-run research institutes: the Astronomisches Rechen-Institut, the Institut für Theoretische Astrophysik (Institute for Theoretical Astrophysics) and the Landessternwarte Heidelberg-Königstuhl (Heidelberg-Königstuhl State Observatory).

The Haus zum Riesen (German: House of the Giant) is a baroque palace on the Hauptstrasse in Heidelberg, built in 1707/8. The building is named for a statue with decorates the façade. Since the middle of the nineteenth century, it has been used by Heidelberg University and several prominent academics have worked in it.

The Friedrichsbau, syn. Fridericianum, is a historic building at Hauptstrasse 47/49 in Heidelberg. The castle-like three-wing property was built in 1863 for use by the Ruprecht-Karls-University Heidelberg and is located in the immediate vicinity of the Old Anatomy. Today it houses the Psychological Institute of the University of Heidelberg.

The Faculty of Modern Languages is one of twelve faculties at the University of Heidelberg. It comprises the Seminar for German Studies, Seminar for English Studies, Seminar for German as a Foreign Language Philology, Seminar for Translating and Interpreting, Seminar for Computational Linguistics, Seminar for Romance Studies, Seminar for Mediaeval and Neo-Latin Philology, and the Seminar for Slavic Studies.

The Faculty of Behavioural Sciences and Empirical Cultural Studies is one of twelve faculties at the University of Heidelberg. The Faculty comprises the Institute of Psychology, the Institute of Social and Cultural Anthropology, the Department of Education, the Institute of Sport and Sport Science, and the Institute of Gerontology. The faculty is headed by a dean. From 2012 to 2014, Professor Dr. Klaus Fiedler was dean.

St. Bonifatius is a Catholic church in the Weststadt of Heidelberg. It is a Romanesque Revival basilica with a transept and a facade with double towers, which was designed by Ludwig Maier and built between 1899 and 1903. The church is part of the parish of Philipp Neri in the pastoral unit of Heidelberg within the deaconate of Heidelberg-Weinheim, in the Archdiocese of Freiburg.

The Corps Saxo-Borussia Heidelberg is a German Student Corps at the University of Heidelberg.

The Center for Jewish Studies Heidelberg (German: Hochschule für Jüdische Studien Heidelberg, or HfJS) is an accredited institution of higher learning, supported by the Central Council of Jews in Germany and funded by the German federal government. The HfJS operates in close cooperation with the University of Heidelberg and opens its doors to students and scholars, regardless of religious affiliation.

The Church of Providence (German: Providenzkirche) is a Protestant church on the Hauptstrasse of the old town of Heidelberg. Until the union of the Protestant Church in Baden in 1821, this was the Lutheran church of central Heidelberg, while the Church of the Holy Spirit was the meeting place of the Calvinist church.

Bergheim is a city district of Heidelberg. It is bounded on the North by the Neckar River, the East by the Bismarkplatz, on the South by the Kurfürsten Anlage and the South by the city line. It is a mostly urban residential area, however the Bergheim Campus of the University of Heidelberg has numerous buildings in the district. Since March 2009 the Heidelberg University Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences has occupied the former Ludolf Krehl clinic (after Ludolf von Krehl). Bergheim also has a number of parks, both along the river and near the Stadtbücherei.
