Horsey Ditch is a minor river (brook) and drainage ditch of the Pevensey Levels in Hailsham, Wealden District of East Sussex, England, that is a tributary of Tolkien Sewer. It drains water from farmland just east of the B2104 road (Ersham Road) and south of Saltmarsh Lane, a byway.

Downwash Ditch is a 1.4-kilometre (0.87 mi) long river (brook) and drainage ditch of the Pevensey Levels in the civil parish of Hailsham, Wealden District of East Sussex, England. Rising in the Honeycrocks, Downwash Ditch flows a westerly course into Winters Cut, giving rise to a stream of Saltmarsh Sewer just north of the Westham civil parish.

Tolkien Sewer is a minor river (brook) and drainage ditch of the Pevensey Levels in Hailsham, Wealden District of East Sussex, England, that is a tributary of Saltmarsh Sewer. Flowing northerly, Tolkien Sewer drains water from farmland just east of the B2104 road (Ersham Road) and south of Saltmarsh Lane, a byway. The river gives rise to two additional ditches; Farm Feed and Horsey Ditch.

Otham Feed is a minor, 532-metre (1,745 ft) long river (brook) and drainage ditch of the Pevensey Levels in the civil parish of Westham, Wealden District of East Sussex, England. It gives rise to Otham Court Ditch.

Holm Sewer is a minor river (brook) and drainage ditch of the Pevensey Levels in Hailsham, Wealden District of East Sussex, England. A tributary to Marland Sewer, Holm Sewer drains water from farmland east of the B2104 road and flows easterly. It receives water from Saltmarsh Sewer.

Duck Puddle, or Duckpuddle, is a minor, 1.032-kilometre (0.641 mi) long river (brook) and drainage ditch of the Pevensey Levels in the civil parish of Westham, Wealden District of East Sussex, England. It joins Winters Cut and gives rise to a portion of Otham Court Ditch. Rising just north of the A27 road—forming the boundary between the civil parish of Polegate—Duck Puddle flows northeasterly for most of its course.

Winters Cut is the name of three streams (brooks) or drainage ditchs of the Pevensey Levels in the civil parish of Westham, Wealden District of East Sussex, England. They total a length of 1.6 kilometres (0.99 mi). All streams are located just northeast of the boundary with the civil parish of Polegate, which is marked by the A27 road.

The Cuckoo Line is an informal name for the now defunct railway service which linked Polegate and Eridge in East Sussex, England, from 1880 to 1968. It was nicknamed the Cuckoo Line by drivers, from a tradition observed at the annual fair at Heathfield, a station on the route. At the fair, which was held each April, a lady would release a cuckoo from a basket, it being supposedly the 'first cuckoo of spring'. The railway line served the following Sussex communities: Polegate, Hailsham, Hellingly, Horam for Waldron, Heathfield, Mayfield, Rotherfield and Eridge. Services continued through Eridge and onward via Groombridge to Tunbridge Wells. The Hailsham-Eridge section closed in 1965, the Polegate-Hailsham branch surviving until 1968. Eridge-Tunbridge Wells closed in 1985, and this line has been resurrected as the Spa Valley Railway.

Wadham New Cut is a minor, 667-metre (2,188 ft) long river (brook) and drainage ditch of the Pevensey Levels in the civil parish of Westham, Wealden District of East Sussex, England, that is a tributary to Winters Cut. Rising from Duckpuddle north of the A27 road—forming the boundary between the civil parish of Polegate—Wadham New Cut flows northeasterly for the entirety of its course.

Hailsham Railway Station was on the Cuckoo Line between Polegate and Hellingly serving the town of Hailsham. Originally built in 1849 by the London, Brighton and South Coast Railway it was a terminus station serving both passengers and livestock for the nearby market. It remained a terminus until 1880 when it was connected with Eridge on a single line railway.

Saltmarsh Sewer is a minor river (brook) and drainage ditch of the Pevensey Levels in Hailsham, Wealden District of East Sussex, England. Comprising multiple ditches, Saltmarsh Sewer drains water from farmland east of the B2104 road, and is a tributary to Glynleigh Sewer. Additional streams also flow into Holm Sewer, Downwash Ditch and Winters Cut. Two pumping stations are located along the course of Saltmarsh Sewer. It also receives water from Tolkien Sewer.
