Allegheny Cemetery

Saint Mary Cemetery is a Roman Catholic burial ground located at 45th and Penn Avenues in the Central Lawrenceville neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. It is adjacent (just south) of the city's slightly older and much larger Allegheny Cemetery. A chain-link fence separates the two cemeteries. The 44-acre (180,000 m2) tract of land was established as a cemetery in 1849 at a cost of $20,000, six years after the founding of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh. As of 2008, it has 100,298 interments.

UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh (CHP), popularly known simply as Children's, is part of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and the only hospital in Greater Pittsburgh dedicated solely to the care of infants, children, teens and young adults through around age 26. UPMC Children's also sometimes treats older adults that require pediatric care. The hospital is affiliated with the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and features a state-verified level 1 pediatric trauma center, one of four in the state. CHP also has a rooftop helipad for emergent transport of pediatric patients. Care is provided by more than 700 board-certified pediatricians and pediatric specialists. Children's also provides primary care, specialty care, and urgent care at over 40 locations throughout the Pittsburgh region, as well as clinical specialty services throughout western Pennsylvania at regional health care facilities.As of 2022 the hospital was ranked as the sixth-best children's hospital in the United States by U.S. News & World Report.

James Wallace Conant (August 10, 1862 – March 14, 1906) was an amusement manager who later became the manager of the Schenley Park Casino, as well as the first manager of the Duquesne Gardens, the first indoor ice rinks in the city of Pittsburgh. Conant is credited with bringing the sport of ice hockey to Pittsburgh, since the indoor ice rinks lured many Canadian players to the city. Over time several of the Canadian players were actually paid to play hockey first at the Casino, and later at the Gardens. He was also the founder of the Western Pennsylvania Hockey League, the first hockey league to openly hire and trade players.

The Saint Mary's Academy Building is a historic building in the Lawrenceville neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Built in 1854, it is a notable example of Greek Revival architecture and one of the neighborhood's only surviving buildings dating to the pre-Civil War era. It was the first structure built by St. Mary's parish, the first Catholic parish in Lawrenceville, and was originally used as both a church and school. In 1874, a new St. Mary's Church was built next door. St. Mary's merged with three other Lawrenceville parishes (Holy Family, St. Augustine, and St. John the Baptist) in 1993 to form the new Our Lady of Angels parish. The St. Mary church buildings remained in use for a few years but closed in 2004.In 2007, the property was sold to the Catholic Cemeteries Association, which administers the adjacent St. Mary Cemetery. The association planned to raze the Academy building to provide more room for burials, but the building was nominated as a Pittsburgh historic landmark to protect it from demolition. The building was given landmark status on December 30, 2008. It remains vacant as of 2018.

St. Mary's Church is a historic former Catholic church in the Lawrenceville neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1874 and was added to the List of Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation Historic Landmarks in 1971. The St. Mary's Church property also includes the St. Mary's Academy building, a Pittsburgh historic landmark. In 1993, St. Mary's parish merged with three other Lawrenceville parishes (Holy Family, St. Augustine, and St. John the Baptist) in 1993 to form the Our Lady of Angels parish. St. Mary's Church remained in use by the new parish for a few years, but closed in 2004 when operations were consolidated at St. Augustine. In 2007 the former St. Mary's buildings were purchased by the Catholic Cemeteries Association, which administers the adjacent St. Mary Cemetery. The church building was converted into a chapel for the cemetery.

The Western Pennsylvania Hospital, commonly referred to as "West Penn Hospital", is located at 4800 Friendship Avenue in the Bloomfield neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The 317-bed hospital is part of the Allegheny Health Network. It serves as a Clinical Campus of Temple University School of Medicine, offering medical education, including a large number of residency and fellowship programs. It is also the primary clinical setting of the West Penn Hospital School of Nursing.

The Woolslair Elementary School in the Lower Lawrenceville neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is a building from 1897. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

Victoria Hall (also known as Ursuline Academy, as well as the Lynch House) at 201 South Winebiddle Street in the Bloomfield neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was built for Henry J. Lynch in the late 1860s. It was acquired by the Ursuline Sisters in 1894 and used as a Catholic girls' school, the Ursuline Academy for Young Women from 1895 to 1981. The school building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2012.

The Fort Pitt Elementary School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is a building from 1905. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

The Bloomfield Bridge is a bridge in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, which carries four lanes of traffic across Skunk Hollow, a steep ravine between the densely populated neighborhoods of Bloomfield and Polish Hill.

The Foster School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is a building from 1886. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. The school operated until 1939, when its students were transferred to the new elementary wing of Arsenal Junior High School along with those from the nearby Bayard School and Lawrence School.

Holy Family Church is a historic former Roman Catholic church in the Lawrenceville neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and a contributing property in the Lawrenceville Historic District. The church was built in 1939–40 and was designed in the Romanesque Revival architectural style with modernist design principles.
