Grace Hospital is an American historic hospital in Richmond, Virginia. The original Colonial Revival structure was built in 1911 based on a design by noted Virginia architect Charles M. Robinson. The hospital is located to the west of Richmond's central business district and was substantially expanded by additions in 1930 and 1964. The original three-story main structure with an entrance pavilion on West Grace Street, is a Colonial Revival building with paired Ionic order columns and gauged arches. In 1930, a five-story Moderne style addition was built to the south along Monroe Street. In 1964, a further three-story addition was built along Grace Street. The 1964 addition is devoid of ornamentation, and the west wing "projects a modern, utilitarian character."The hospital building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004. It was the birthplace in 1951 of Donnie Corker.The building was renovated and turned into an apartment building from 2015 to 2017.

Moore's Auto Body and Paint Shop, formerly known as Standard Gas and Oil Supply Station, is a historic filling station located in Richmond, Virginia. The oldest section was originally built as a stable in 1875. It was enlarged in 1926. It is a one-story, stuccoed brick building in the Spanish Colonial Revival style. The structure has an irregular plan, with the northern facade formed in a crescent shape and the rest of the building in rectangular forms. The central section features heavy paneled stuccoed pilasters connected by a corbeled brick table and a paneled parapet. The building was used as a filling station until 1936, after which it was occupied by a series of automobile repair businesses.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.

Institute for Contemporary Art at VCU in Richmond (ICA at VCU), also known as the VCU Institute for Contemporary Art at the Markel Center, is an arts center at Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, Virginia. It was designed by architecture firm Steven Holl Architects, and built by Gilbane Building Company. Steven Holl Architects was selected from 64 competing architectural firms worldwide, along with local architect, BCWH Architects. Virginia Commonwealth University President Michael Rao, in announcing plans for the ICA in 2011, said that the prominence of the museum's location, "bordering the city's Arts District and in the Broad Street Corridor which links the VCU Monroe Park Campus with VCU's Medical Center" would have symbolic significance. The ICA opened to the public in April, 2018.

The Commonwealth Club, is a private gentlemen's club in Richmond, Virginia, USA. Its present clubhouse was completed in 1891. The defining structure of the Commonwealth Club Historic District, it is located at 401 West Franklin Street. The Commonwealth Club is considered to be one of the finest pieces of architecture in Richmond and was a physical symbol of Richmond's New South movement. The club hosts the annual Richmond German Christmas Dance, the oldest debutante ball in Virginia.

Monroe Ward is a historic neighborhood in Downtown Richmond. It is East of the Fan district and includes several apartment buildings, usually with VCU students living in them. Recently, VCU expanded its Monroe Park campus into the Monroe Ward with the Engineering East/Snead Hall building, as well as an under construction residence hall and parking deck. The historic Jefferson Hotel is located in the Monroe Ward. The culture-filled area is situated between the Fan area and Downtown.

Steamer Company Number 5 is a former Richmond fire station located at 200 West Marshall Street in Richmond, Virginia. Designed by Richmond City Engineer Wilfred Emory Cutshaw, the building has a triangular plan to conform to the shape of its lot at the intersection of Brook Road and Marshall Street. Constructed of brick on a foundation of granite ashlar and covered with stucco which was scored to simulate stone, Steamer Company Number 5 is a late example of the Italianate style. This is a decorative fashion the building shares with many houses in the surrounding Jackson Ward area it served as firehouse from 1883 to 1968.Built in 1883 to continue the function of fire fighting and police station for the Jackson Ward neighborhood begun in 1849 by a previous building on the site, Steamer Company Number 5 combines the unique local form of two-bow-front houses with municipal functionality. The late use of the Italianate style is typical of municipal schools and other buildings constructed by the city during the period. The style can be observed as late as 1896, in Richmond's Randolph Street School.The building is now home to Gallery 5, an arts center, and was the former home of the Virginia Fire & Police Museum, which covered Virginia fire and police history with collections include antique fire apparatus, historic photos, and artifacts dating from 1790 to the present.

Warren W. Brandt Hall is a 17-story dormitory, that is located on the northeast corner of the Virginia Commonwealth University Monroe Park campus. The building is adjacent to Rhoads Hall, and houses 640 freshmen students. The building was dedicated on August 24, 2005 and opened for the 2005–06 academic school year, being the newest residence building on campus until the construction of Gladding Residence Center, Phase III. The building is named in Warren W. Brandt, who was the first president of VCU.

The Two Hundred Block West Franklin Street Historic District is a national historic district located at Richmond, Virginia. It is located between downtown and the Fan district. The district encompasses 13 contributing buildings built during the 19th century and in a variety of popular architectural styles including Greek Revival, Federal, Beaux-Arts, and Queen Anne. Many of the dwellings have been converted to commercial use. Notable buildings include Queen Anne Row (1891), the Carter-Mayo House designed by Carrère and Hastings, the Cole Diggs House, the Smith-Palmer House, the Ida Schoolcraft House, the Price House, the A. S. Smith House, and the T. Seddon Bruce House.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1977, with a boundary increase in 1994.

Gilpin is a small neighborhood located in Richmond, Virginia and within the boundaries of the North Side of the city limits. Originally part and parcel of the historically Black neighborhood of Jackson Ward, the northern section of that neighborhood was heavily redeveloped with the provision of public housing from the mid-20th century onwards, with the major development taking the name "Gilpin Court". During the same period, a massive expansion of highway building around and through central Richmond saw the Gilpin Court and the rest of the neighborhood essentially cut off from the rest of Jackson Ward. The community of Gilpin lies adjacent to the interchange of Interstates 64 and 95, and houses two cemeteries: Hebrew Cemetery and Shockoe Hill Cemetery. The headquarters for the Richmond Department of Redevelopment and Housing are situated in the neighborhood along with the Richmond Alternative School. Most of the western part of the neighborhood is occupied with higher density structure, but housing becomes less dense towards the eastern part of the community.

Gallery5 is an arts center, museum, gallery, venue, and community space in Richmond, VA. It is located at 200 West Marshall Street in Richmond, VA, in the historic Jackson Ward neighborhood. Gallery5 is housed in the original building of Steamer Company Number 5, which is the oldest firehouse in Virginia, dating back to 1867. This historic building has seen many incarnations; in addition to the original fire station the building has also served as a police station, a Fire and Police Museum, and a hot dog emporium. The gallery is a cornerstone participant in Richmond's monthly First Friday Art Walk, which takes place on the first Friday of every month and draws artists and art-enthusiasts in throngs to Downtown Richmond.

The Taylor–Mayo House, also known as the Mayo Memorial Church House, is a historic home located in Richmond, Virginia. It was built in 1845, and is a two-story, five bay, Greek Revival style dwelling topped by a hipped roof. The front facade features a three-bay two-story Ionic order portico. The house was elaborately renovated during the 1880s.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

The Masonic Temple in Richmond, Virginia is a Richardsonian Romanesque style building built during 1888–1893, designed by Jackson C. Gott. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.It is a prominent building in downtown Richmond. Its NRHP nomination asserts that the building is the finest example of Richardsonian Romanesque style architecture in the state, and others have asserted that at its time of construction it was "one of the 'most magnificent examples of modern architecture in the South.'": 2 The design by Gott was one of 17 submitted in a design competition.The building was used for a 1905 function attended by U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt. It was used by the Masons until 1971. In 1982 the Richmond Foundation for the Arts acquired it with intended purpose of its serving as an arts center for the region.: 3 At some later date the building housed a catering venue, office building and apartments.
